Chapter 90 May Miscarry
Diana lay there for ten minutes around before she finally managed to get up. She reached out to a nearby servant and asked, "Can you help me up? Just to the door, I won't bother you anymore." Her voice was shaky and pitiful.
The servant glanced nervously upstairs at Charles, who gave a nod. Only then did she step forward to help Diana. With some support, Diana felt a bit relieved and kept whispering, "Thank you."
She was helped to a small stool by the door, but she couldn't stay upright and collapsed to the ground. She used the stool to prop herself up. Diana hadn't brought her clothes down, and the cold wind made her a bit more clear-headed. After a while, the servant brought her clothes over and carefully covered her with them.
Diana opened her eyes and said again, "Thank you." The servant, not wanting to get involved, muttered, "Mr. Percy asked me to bring them." Then she hurried away, not knowing if Diana heard her.
Charles returned to the bedroom and watched Diana curled up from the window. 'Since someone is coming to pick her up, there's no need to meddle. She's just a bit drunk, not as pitiful as she looks.'
Charles kept repeating these words in his mind but couldn't help but secretly observe her. When Diana fainted on the ground, he rushed downstairs. But he saw Billy getting out of the car, tenderly picking Diana up and putting her in the car.
Charles stopped in his tracks and locked eyes with Billy across the front yard. Billy ignored him, focusing on Diana in the back seat. As the car started, Charles clenched his fists.
In the car, Robert was anxiously driving. Billy was in the back seat holding Diana, nervously rubbing her cold hands. He had been at the office when he suddenly got a call from Diana. Hearing her hoarse voice saying she was at Charles' house, he immediately tensed up.
Billy wanted to ask more, but Diana hung up. He had no idea where Charles' house was. But luckily, he had Robert's contact info from last time. After hearing the news, Robert and he rushed to the Percy Mansion. They found Diana fainted by the roadside, barely breathing.
Billy was furious, wanting to rush in and fight Charles. But Diana clearly needed to go to the hospital, and when he picked her up, he smelled a strong odor of alcohol. 'Did Charles force her to drink?' The thought made his blood boil, but he kept his fury in check, sitting in the back seat with Diana, struggling to maintain his silence.
They rushed to the emergency room, and Billy quickly found a nurse, speaking anxiously, "Please, help my friend."
The nurse smelled the alcohol and frowned at Diana in his arms, not very concerned. "Heartbroken and drunk? Just give her something to sober up and let her sleep it off, no need to make a fuss."
Robert caught up and added, "No, she's pregnant." The nurse's eyes widened, and she immediately called for help.
Diana was pushed into the emergency room. The two men stood dumbfounded at the door, not knowing what to do.
"Robert, does Charles even know about this child?" Billy sat on a hospital bench and asked Robert beside him.
Robert shook his head and replied, "No, he doesn't." If Charles knew and still treated Diana like this, he must be a demon.
Billy wiped his face and continued to ask, "Does Diana love this child very much?"
"I don't know, she's actually very hesitant about whether to keep it," Robert answered honestly.
Hearing this, Billy let out a sigh of relief. He selfishly hoped Diana wouldn't keep the child, so she'd hate Charles even more. But he was also scared that if Diana loved the child too much, losing it would be a devastating blow. Since Diana herself was hesitant, the child wasn't that important. As long as Diana was okay, that was all that mattered.
Just then, the doctor came out, looking serious. He sized up the two men and finally focused on the younger Billy. "Are you the father?"
Without thinking much, Billy nodded. "Yes! How is she?"
Seeing him admit it, the doctor immediately scolded him, "What kind of husband are you? How can you let a pregnant woman drink so much? If you don't want to take responsibility, just tell her!"
Billy kept nodding, only wanting to know how Diana was. "Sorry, doctor, I was wrong. How is she now?"
Seeing his sincere attitude, the doctor softened a bit. "Fortunately, she threw up all the alcohol. She's a bit drowsy from it."
"And the baby?" Robert asked cautiously from the side.
The doctor's expression turned serious again. "The baby is not yet three months old. Did she fall today? She has symptoms of a threatened miscarriage. The situation has stabilized for now. If you want to keep the baby, let the mother rest more. No strenuous activities, and definitely no more drinking."
Hearing the baby was okay, both men sighed in relief. "Can we see her now?"
The doctor nodded, glanced at the medical chart in his hand, and continued, "Once she's transferred to a room, you can see her. She needs to be hospitalized for rest. Go pay the fees."
Robert took the chart and repeatedly thanked the doctor. Diana didn't know how long she had slept. When she woke up, she felt something holding her right hand. As she moved slightly, Billy woke up.
Seeing Diana awake, he smiled with joy, "Diana, are you awake? How do you feel?"
Diana was a bit confused and answer, "I'm fine, just a bit dizzy." After speaking, she stared at the hand Billy was holding, looking a bit dazed.
Billy quickly apologized and withdrew his hand, scratching his head. "Sorry, did I make you uncomfortable?"
Diana's hand was warm from his hold, so she wasn't angry. Seeing only him in the room, she couldn't help but ask, "Did I call you?"
Although she was drunk at the time, Diana's memory was still clear. Her phone's contact list was filled with reliable people, so she could randomly pick one to call. She just didn't expect to call Billy.
Billy nodded and explained, "I got the call at the office and went with Robert to pick you up." Remembering the scene of Diana lying on the ground, he said angrily, "Why did that bastard Charles make you drink?"
Diana rubbed her head; Billy didn't know about the Spencer Group's matters. Since it was resolved, there was no need for him to know. Diana replied, "It's a personal matter between us."
Billy wanted to ask more, but Robert came in with Evelyn. Seeing Diana awake, Evelyn cried and rushed over but didn't dare to use force, afraid of hurting her. "Ms. Spencer, you're finally awake!"
Seeing her cry, Diana thought the baby was gone and her voice trembled, "What's wrong? Why are you crying so badly? I'm fine, is it the baby..."
Hearing Diana ask about the baby, Evelyn realized she misunderstood and quickly explained, "The baby is fine. You were asleep for a whole day and night. I was worried about you. If I had known, I wouldn't have let you go out."
