Chapter 456 Find Someone Else

Diana felt like she was being clung to by a sticky little puppy. Even if she kicked it away, it would haunt her like a ghost.

Her palm was pressed against Charles' face, which was already starting to feel warm.

She wanted to pull it back, but he had a look that said: "I won't let go until you agree."

'He seems to have a strong obsession with a wife,' Diana thought, furrowing her brows.

She had been alone since childhood, with many people and societal norms telling her: "You're a woman. Just get married, and you won't be lonely anymore. You'll have someone to rely on for life."

Marriage seemed like a sweet-smelling cake; just one bite, and you'd never be hungry again.

But there was no such cake in the world, and naturally, no perfect marriage.

Rather than entrusting her fate to an unknown man, Diana believed it was better to rely on herself.

Clearly, she had made the right choice.

If she hadn't found a boyfriend in the alliance back then, who later got her killed and led to her rebirth as she was now, Diana might never have gotten married.

Behind every excellent man, there were always many women. Since she was excellent too, having multiple men was only normal.

She hated being tied down, hated marriage.

To Diana, "family" didn't need fixed roles; it just needed unbreakable emotional bonds.

But Charles was different. He desperately needed a "status card" to soothe his restless heart.

Only by getting married and having a legal connection would he feel at ease.

Otherwise, Diana would be like the wind, never knowing when she might blow away.

Of course, even with a marriage certificate now, this wind had no intention of staying.

Charles had recently stopped taking those psychiatric medications and felt much better.

He could directly ignore Diana's disdainful expressions and actions, doing what he liked.

Like now, after saying that sentence, he wanted to kiss her.

Thinking this, his eyes moved to her pink lips.

Diana reacted quickly this time, covering his mouth with one hand, saying sternly, "What do you mean? What do you mean by 'obediently be your wife'?"

Charles, with his mouth and nose covered, had some difficulty breathing but didn't struggle at all. He just blinked, looking at her innocently.

Diana gritted her teeth and let go of her hand, cursing inwardly. Usually, he was strong as an ox, but now he was pretending to be weak.

"Of course, whatever a wife should do, you should do."

He said this while standing up and taking a book from the nearby shelf.

Diana hadn't seen the title yet when he opened to the dog-eared pages.

[Husband is the most handsome in the world, always praise him. Husband is the truth of the world, always believe in him.]

Diana's eyes scanned the page quickly, reading a couple of lines.

She stepped back half a step, incredulous, "The person who published this book should be arrested and executed."

Charles wasn't the decisive CEO of the Percy Group? He was reading this kind of stuff behind the scenes?

Diana reached out, flipped the book over, and glanced at the title: [How to Make Your Husband Fall Madly in Love with You.]

...

The room fell into a brief silence, but Charles didn't see any problem with it. Instead, he smiled at Diana, waiting for her reaction.

Diana took a deep breath, her eyes filled with pity, "If you don't understand relationships, watch some movies and learn. Don't read this kind of book, okay?"

"Although the book is a bit exaggerated, it's not wrong. As a wife, you should make your husband happy."

Charles ignored the disdain in her words, tossing the book aside, and continued, "So, you need to please me."

Diana immediately frowned, a surge of defiance rising in her heart. "Shouldn't the husband also make the wife happy? You enjoy everything without giving anything in return, and you have the nerve to say that? I'm not your wife; at best, I'm your pet."

She said this quickly because if she said it slowly, she would dwell on the humiliation behind it.

Charles seemed to have an epiphany, looking enlightened. "Of course, we're a couple. We should please each other."

He paused for a moment, as if deep in thought, then asked, "Does physical pleasure count?"

This time, Diana couldn't hold back. She closed her eyes, lifted her foot, and aimed for his groin. Even a man with a steel body was vulnerable there.

But Charles reacted quickly, grabbing her ankle with one hand.

He clutched his chest with the other, looking hurt. "If you damage my manhood, what will happen to your happiness for the rest of your life?"

"Find someone else. There are plenty of men in this world."

Diana's leg was still in his grip, but she felt no sense of danger. This time, her words finally angered Charles.

Although he still had a smile on his face, his eyes grew cold. His grip on her ankle tightened, as if he wanted to break the bone.

Diana cried out in pain, but with one leg unable to exert force, she could only stand because of Charles.

If she struggled, she would surely fall.

She gritted her teeth and moved closer to him, trying to make him let go of her ankle.

Sensing her intention, Charles released his grip as she approached, causing her to lose balance and fall into his arms.

Diana might not have noticed herself, but she hated falling.

When someone was standing in front of her, the height difference made her feel insecure. Every time she fell, it was never a good thing.

So Charles kept his hands at his sides, not in a hurry to hold her, waiting until she grabbed his clothes to barely steady herself before lifting his hand to grip her chin, sneering.

"If you go looking for other men, I'll chain you to the bed forever. Turn you into a sex slave who gets aroused at the sight of me."

His teeth were stark white, and his words were particularly frightening.

Diana imagined that scene and thought she'd rather die.

For a moment, she forgot to distance herself from him.

Actually, in bed, Diana had suspected Charles might lean towards being submissive.

But his current obsessive and terrifying demeanor made her realize he had no attributes; he was just a pure lunatic.

Charles' mood swings had been faster than flipping pages recently, and Diana almost missed his previous poker face.

"Answer me!"

Seeing her dare to zone out at this moment, Charles grew even more frantic.

She must have planned that remark long ago. From the beginning, she never intended to stay.

She was fickle and promiscuous. Wasn't he enough for her?

He fell into chaotic thoughts, staring at Diana's face, with malice and love erupting simultaneously.

The mixed emotions couldn't be released, like ants gnawing at his internal organs.

The pain made him clutch his chest, retreating several steps.

Diana snapped back to reality, surprised at his intense reaction.

What had she just said?

She usually spoke harshly without thinking.

Seeing him so angry, as if he would turn into a zombie and attack her any second, Diana suddenly had a flash of insight and said, "I was joking. Are you okay? Do you need me to call a doctor?"
