Chapter 273 The Food Festival

Soon, the day of the food festival arrived.

Early in the morning, Sabrina headed straight to The Percy Mansion. She lounged on the couch downstairs, playing on her phone while waiting for Diana to wake up.

Evelyn emerged from the small attic and was surprised to see Sabrina.

"Ms. Glenn, you're here so early. Ms. Spencer usually doesn't wake up until noon."

Sabrina waved her hand nonchalantly.

"No worries, I can wait. We're meeting up anyway, so I'll just take you both there."

Evelyn nodded, feeling a bit excited. She could go out and have fun today too.

"Evelyn, I'm starving. Is there any breakfast? Jacob went out earlier, and I didn't get a chance to ask."

Sabrina clutched her stomach, her tone almost whining.

Evelyn couldn't help but laugh. "What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."

Sabrina's eyes lit up, and she grinned. "I want a sandwich and some sweet milk."

"Alright, just wait here for a bit."

By the time Sabrina was eating breakfast, Diana had just woken up. She hadn't slept well the night before and came downstairs in her pajamas, yawning.

The moment she saw Sabrina, she was so surprised that she didn't even finish her yawn. She asked the same question as Evelyn.

"Why are you here so early?"

Sabrina, still chewing, quickly swallowed and replied, "I missed you. Come on, Diana, have some breakfast."

Just then, Evelyn came out of the kitchen with a plate of toast. She smiled at Diana.

"Good morning, Ms. Spencer. What would you like to eat?"

As she spoke, she discreetly moved Sabrina's sweet milk a bit further away.

"Anything is fine. Whatever's available. Charles isn't here today, so you don't need to fuss. Sit down and eat with us."

Diana grabbed a piece of toast and sat across from Sabrina.

Despite what Diana said, Evelyn still made her a sandwich and poured her a glass of water.

The three of them sat at the table, eating leisurely.

Sabrina took a sip of her sweet milk, leaving a milk mustache on her lips, looking a bit comical.

Unaware, she glanced around and, seeing no one else, whispered, "Why isn't Mr. Percy home? Aren't we going to the food festival today?"

Diana chuckled at her sneaky demeanor and replied, "He went to the office to finish some work. He didn't come home last night."

Evelyn noticed Sabrina's milk mustache and handed her a napkin, gesturing for her to wipe her lips.

Sabrina took the napkin and wiped her mouth haphazardly, her tone turning surprised. "Why is he so busy? Can't he hire someone to do it? If he didn't go, the three of us could go shopping!"

Diana took a bite of her sandwich and burst Sabrina's bubble. "Well, if Charles said he's coming with us, then he'll definitely come. I just don't know when."

Sabrina sighed and continued drinking her milk. "Alright."

With their mouths full, Diana and Evelyn didn't speak.

Sabrina, having finished early, rested her chin on her hands and kept talking.

"Diana, yesterday Noah said Mr. Percy really likes you. What do you think?"

Diana nearly choked on her water.

Evelyn quickly intervened. "Sabrina, you shouldn't say such things. If Mr. Percy hears that, he'll think Ms. Spencer is pestering him again."

Diana nodded while wiping her mouth. Evelyn had always been perceptive.

Sabrina nodded and then drifted into a daydream.

What a pity. Diana was beautiful and had a great personality. She and Charles, such a perfect man, would make a great couple.

But then again, they say the more perfect a man is, the more unimaginable his flaws. Maybe behind his polished exterior, Charles was a violent man or impotent.

Thinking this, Sabrina felt a pang of sympathy for Diana.

After breakfast, Diana went upstairs to do her makeup and change clothes.

Sabrina took the opportunity to inspect her room, confirming there were no signs of a man, which reassured her about Diana and Charles's relationship.

Since they were going shopping, Diana opted for light makeup and wore a white turtleneck sweater with a yellow coat.

Taller than Evelyn and Sabrina, she looked like their older sister.

Jacob, knowing they were going out, had the car ready.

"Misses, please get in. The driver will take you there."

Sabrina glanced at the car, dissatisfied. "Mr. Percy is so rich, yet he drives such a low-key car. It's not cool at all."

She turned to Diana. "Diana, let's take my car! I picked a pink one today. It's super cool!"

Before Diana could respond, Jacob quickly interjected.

"No, Ms. Glenn. The Percy family car may look low-key, but it's been modified. The windows are bulletproof, and the driver is a retired mercenary. He can ensure your safety."

Sabrina pouted. "We're just going shopping, not fighting terrorists. Why so dramatic? Diana, let's take my car!"

Jacob tried to persuade them again, but Diana smiled and said, "Jacob, let us go. I've always been safe. Don't worry too much. Besides, we'll meet up with Charles there. Nothing will happen with him around."

Her voice was gentle yet firm, leaving no room for refusal.

Jacob opened his mouth but eventually relented. "Alright, just be careful. Let me know when you get there."

Diana nodded, finally resolving the car issue.

The group got into the pink car and drove to Crescent Lane near Dreamscape University.

The area was more of a plaza than a street, with hundreds of stalls neatly arranged, offering a variety of unique and delicious foods for visitors to sample.

Since parking wasn't allowed nearby, Sabrina urged the driver to leave quickly so she could shop with Diana and Evelyn.

Diana looked around. The vendors were just setting up, and there weren't many tourists yet. Despite looking for a while, she didn't see any sign of Charles.

Sabrina, excited by the food, quickly got into the spirit. She was tired of the limited foreign cuisine.

Before Diana could think further, Sabrina handed her a toothpick with a piece of freshly grilled beef.

The spices and the charred meat aroma were mouthwatering.

Diana's eyes lit up as she tasted it, and she completely forgot about Charles.

The Percy Mansion had many chefs, but since Diana rarely made specific requests, she mostly ate nutritious meals for pregnant women.

Tasting something new outside, she couldn't stop.

They wandered around, sampling everything that caught their eye.

Just as they were about to buy their favorite foods, a voice called out from behind.

"Ms. Spencer? What are you doing here?"

Diana turned around and frowned, her expression turning unfriendly.
