Chapter 438 Broadcast

Charles impatiently clicked his tongue, cutting off Nolan mid-action.

He'd dropped so many hints already. Why hadn't Nolan picked up on it? Was he really that dense?

"Nolan, who gave you the guts to think I'm nuts?"

His voice was low, carrying a chilling edge.

Nolan froze, unsure of what to say. He lowered his head and mumbled, "Mr. Percy, could you just spell it out? I'm really lost here."

If anyone else in the company heard this, they'd probably be floored.

Nolan, the guy who usually got Charles better than anyone, was actually confused?

"Don't you get it? She's Diana. She's back."

It was obvious who "she" was.

Nolan's mind immediately conjured up her face.

His lips moved slightly, and finally, all his questions boiled down to one word, "What?"

His voice dragged out, making him sound even more clueless.

"Ms. Wipere is Ms. Spencer? How is that even possible?"

Nolan found it absurd and let out a dry laugh.

Charles shot him a disdainful look and snapped, "Why not?"

Right, the two looked exactly the same. Nolan had suspected they were the same person from the start.

But Charles' reaction had been so indifferent, even letting her walk away.

This wasn't like the Charles who cherished Diana above all else.

In fact, it wasn't just Nolan who thought this way. Jacob and some of the long-time household staff also doubted Diana's identity because of Charles' attitude.

Just hearing that name made Charles' face darken. If anyone openly discussed how "Ms. Wipere" and Diana looked identical, it would be asking for trouble.

To avoid angering Charles and for their own career prospects, everyone chose to keep quiet.

As a result, even Diana thought no one had recognized her, just that she looked similar, and after the initial shock, everyone calmed down.

"Stop overthinking it. Just do as I say."

Nolan snapped back to reality, still looking perplexed.

"Alright, so now Ms. Wipere has taken Benjamin and run off. Let's go find them."

After saying this, Nolan suddenly felt it made more sense. Diana had always liked to run away. Even with a new identity, she retained this trait. It felt oddly familiar.

But why she took Benjamin with her was still a mystery.

Charles seemed much calmer than Nolan. He smirked, his eyes growing colder. "Why chase them? Let them run."

In the airport lounge.

Diana and Benjamin sat side by side. They had been out of the house for hours and hadn't had lunch.

Diana was hungry, though she wasn't sure about Benjamin. "Let's grab something to eat. What do you want?"

Benjamin shook his head. "I'm not hungry yet, Mommy. You go ahead. I want to check which flight we're on."

He turned to look out the window.

Planes were parked on the tarmac, and it wasn't time to board yet. Ground staff were moving around.

Diana stood up and looked around, spotting a convenience store on the other side of the lounge. Grabbing some sandwiches wouldn't take long.

"Stay here and don't wander off. I'll be right back."

"Okay."

Benjamin agreed but also stood up. He glanced at the boarding pass and walked towards the large windows.

He wanted to confirm the plane so he could feel more at ease.

Seeing his serious expression, Diana didn't insist on taking him to the store.

After she left, Benjamin walked to the window, squatted down, and scanned the planes on the ground, following the signs and the boarding pass.

He quickly found the plane they were supposed to board.

Benjamin's lips curled into a smile, revealing a row of small teeth. He was in a good mood.

He reached out and tapped the glass, talking to himself, "Little plane, take me home."

Perhaps he was too focused, not noticing the shadow that had fallen over him.

Two hands reached out from behind, one covering his mouth, the other grabbing his waist.

Before he could struggle, Benjamin was dragged into the darkness.

"Thank you for your purchase. Please come again."

The convenience store cashier said as they handed Diana her bagged food.

She thanked them softly, picked up the bag, and headed back.

Before she reached their original spot, Diana frowned slightly.

She looked around but didn't see Benjamin, not even by the window.

A bad feeling crept over her. She tightened her grip on the plastic bag and approached a nearby passenger.

"Excuse me, did you see a little boy here earlier? About four or five years old, wearing a blue shirt, about this tall?"

She gestured at her waist.

The person glanced at her and shook their head.

Diana pressed her lips together and asked other passengers, but no one had seen him.

It was as if Benjamin had vanished into thin air.

The lounge wasn't crowded, and everyone was focused on their own activities, not noticing the small incident.

Diana dropped the food and rushed to the boarding gate, seeking help from the staff.

"Excuse me, my child is missing. Please help me."

She was anxious but spoke clearly.

She knew Benjamin wasn't the type to wander off at a critical moment. With the flight about to depart, he wouldn't run off.

The staff member was calm, offering a polite smile.

"Don't worry, ma'am. Our airport security is very strict. Your child might just be lost or in the restroom. Please wait a moment while I notify the broadcast station and security to help you."

They picked up the phone and began notifying other staff.

Diana's heart felt like it was being squeezed. She hadn't been this nervous even when they were escaping.

Things seemed to be spiraling out of control, making her anxious.

"Ma'am, what's your child's name? And which flight are you on?"

Diana was about to answer when music played overhead.

Then, the announcement began.

"Attention, Ms. Wipere, traveling on flight xxx from Evergreen City to Phoenix City, please proceed to gate C on the second floor. Your family is waiting for you. Repeating..."

As the announcement ended, the staff member smiled.

"Ma'am, your family is on the second floor. Just turn right down this path."

But Diana didn't relax.

Benjamin had a watch and could contact her directly. There was no need for an announcement.

So who made the announcement?
