Chapter 148 Chat Companion Noah

Diana rolled her eyes and flicked her hand dismissively.

"Who cares if he likes me? You guys go enjoy the hot springs. I'm heading out for some fresh air; it's way too hot and stuffy in here."

"Want me to come with you?"

Diana wrapped herself in a towel. "No need, have fun. I'll wait for you guys. Besides, there are two bodyguards outside. I feel like I'm under constant surveillance."

With that, Diana walked over to the hot spring and interrupted Evelyn and Sabrina, who were deep in conversation.

"I've got some stuff to take care of, so I need to step out for a bit. You guys and Isolde go ahead and have fun. I'll be waiting outside."

"Ms. Spencer..." Evelyn looked worried as she watched Diana leave.

Sabrina also frowned, looking like she wanted to say something but hesitated.

Diana knew what they were thinking and quickly raised her hand to stop them.

"No need, I'm fine. Just come find me after you're done with the hot springs."

Isolde also walked over and slowly got into the water.

"What, none of you wants to play with me? Diana's got things to do, let her go."

Hearing Isolde say this, Evelyn and Sabrina didn't say more and waved reluctantly at Diana.

To an outsider, it might have looked like a farewell forever.

Diana smirked, wrapped a towel around herself, and left the hot springs without a second thought.

After changing her clothes and arriving at the rest area, her hair was still wet.

The two bodyguards couldn't enter the women's area and were almost standing like statues outside.

They were a bit surprised to see Diana come out suddenly.

But they remembered her words and kept a certain distance.

Diana touched her hair; she didn't like the hairdryer here, so she didn't use it.

Earlier, she saw a sign indicating there was a place for sunbathing behind the club and planned to go there to dry her hair.

The attendant, hearing she wanted to sunbathe, quickly led the way.

When Diana arrived and saw the layout, she realized it was an outdoor pool.

A third of the area was an irregularly shaped pool, with sand laid at the entrance to mimic a real beach.

The rest was filled with various green plants and places for people to eat and rest.

Diana thanked the attendant.

She found a lounge chair by the pool and lay down, spreading her hair out with both hands.

Facing the sun, she seemed determined to tan herself to a crisp.

Fortunately, it was already early winter, and the sun wasn't too intense.

The attendant even brought a blanket, and Diana basked in the sunlight, wrapped up like a cozy little bundle.

Just as she was getting drowsy, a pleasant and gentle young voice suddenly sounded in her ear, "A girl sunbathing like this, aren't you afraid of getting sunburned?"

Diana opened her eyes. The person was backlit, making it hard for her to see who it was.

She raised a hand to shield her eyes from the sun and squinted. "Are you... Noah?"

Noah's expression froze for a moment, not expecting her to know his name. "You know me?"

"No, Sabrina mentioned your name."

Diana sat up. She had blurted it out purely because Sabrina's words flashed through her mind, 'That's my brother Noah...'

Noah realized that Sabrina had a tendency to let things slip. He chuckled softly.

"Sorry, Sabrina must have caused you trouble. She just returned to the country and has almost no friends here. So she wanted to play with a gentle and beautiful girl like you."

"It's fine, Sabrina is very cute, and my friends all like her."

Diana waved her hand, not minding much. Although she hadn't known Sabrina for long, her every move was very likable.

Just a young girl, playing with her was no big deal.

Noah coughed a bit unnaturally, with one hand clenched to his mouth. "I still don't know your name."

"Diana Spencer." Diana held the blanket, her hair still wet. She just wanted Noah to leave quickly so she could sunbathe.

Noah seemed to get the hint and stepped aside.

The sunlight hit Diana's face, making her look even more delicate and charming.

Noah's Adam's apple bobbed, his gaze darkening.

"Ms. Spencer, your hair is wet."

Diana picked up a strand of hair, her expression unchanged.

"Yeah, I don't like the hairdryer here, so I came out to dry my hair."

Noah stared at the strand of hair in her hand, the brown hair making her skin look even more delicate.

"Well, it's winter now. It's better to towel dry it a bit before sunbathing."

With that, he asked the attendant for a towel and handed it to Diana.

Diana didn't refuse. She said, "Thanks," and then gathered her hair in front of her chest, wrapping the ends in the towel.

Seeing Noah still standing there, she tilted her head and asked, "Mr. Glenn, do you have something else to do? Not hanging out with your grandfather?"

Noah's eyelashes fluttered slightly, a smile tugging at his lips as he spoke softly.

"Grandfather is chatting with his old friends. I just came out for a walk. Didn't expect to run into you. What about you? Why aren't you with Sabrina?"

His words were only partly true. In fact, after Sabrina and Diana left with the others, Noah went upstairs to spend time with Garry. They chatted for a while.

He saw Diana downstairs through the window, so he lied that Sabrina was looking for him and hurried downstairs.

That was how they met here.

Noah admitted that he found Diana attractive. He was indeed interested in her, not necessarily to be together, but even just talking more would be nice.

"They went to the hot springs. I got a call and came out," Diana explained while rubbing her hair.

The Glenn siblings were definitely cut from the same cloth. Their social skills were astonishingly impressive.

Noah seemed steady and elegant, and his conversation flowed effortlessly.

He watched Diana drying her hair and then sat on the chair next to her.

With Noah no longer blocking the sun, Diana squinted, finally able to enjoy the sun properly.

But her happiness didn't last long before Noah casually asked, "Ms. Spencer, are you a local of Evergreen City?"

Diana was stunned by his question. Was he trying to check her information?

But before Diana could answer, Noah continued on his own, "My mother was from Evergreen City, but she passed away early. Sabrina and I grew up abroad. Neither she nor I have any friends."

Seeing her remain silent, Noah couldn't help but turn his head. He found Diana staring at him seriously.

"Mr. Glenn, are you trying to be my friend?"

He was almost being explicit. Even a fool could see that Noah wanted to befriend her.

Noah looked directly into Diana's eyes, his Adam's apple bobbing, and turned his head a bit unnaturally.

"Ms. Spencer, you're Sabrina's friend, so naturally, you're my friend too."

Diana continued drying her hair, the towel almost completely soaked.

She pursed her lips slightly. Honestly, Noah wasn't bad-looking. In the past, Diana might have gone after him without hesitation.

But given her current situation, she wasn't suitable for making friends.

If Diana offended Charles, all her friends would suffer.

Thinking of this, Diana forced a polite smile. "Sure, we can hang out sometime."

Anyone could tell that this was a polite response.

But Noah, due to his straightforward nature, took it seriously and felt a bit excited.

He took out his phone and said softly, "Can I have your contact information? We can hang out sometime."

Diana's smile froze. 'Noah, you really don't know how to read the room, do you?' she thought. But his eager gaze made it hard to refuse.

Diana sighed and, with some hesitation, pulled out her phone. They exchanged contact information.
