Chapter 223 Don't Move

Diana's eyes went wide, and she couldn't help but let out a curse. "What the hell are you talking about? Do I need you to stand up for me? I can get my revenge without you."

Seriously, wasn't all her suffering lately because of Charles? Why was he pretending to be her protector here? Once she left him, she'd see there was no danger at all.

Seeing her anger, Charles's face darkened, and he silently moved closer.

Diana snapped back to reality, realizing something was off, and reached for the car door.

But in the next second, he pulled her into his arms, trapping her so she couldn't move. She struggled fiercely, yelling, "Let go of me! Let go!"

To Charles, her resistance and struggles were like being scratched by a kitten.

He was in a good mood and didn't want to argue with her, just wanted to hold her for a while.

But Diana was full of energy, kicking and hitting non-stop.

Especially when she brushed against a certain area, Charles felt his desire growing. His pants were becoming tight.

Charles's Adam's apple bobbed, and he said in a low voice, "Keep moving, and I can't guarantee what will happen next."

Diana's body stiffened; she could feel something pressing against her hip.

She was still pregnant; Charles wouldn't be such a bastard, would he?

She nervously tried to reassure herself, but seeing Charles's face, she immediately sobered up. He was a bastard!

"Fine, I won't move, and you better not move either."

Charles's eyelids lifted slightly, sensing that Diana had calmed down, and he nodded.

Then he changed his position, letting her sit sideways in his lap.

In this position, Diana's back could rest against his chest.

He calmed down a lot without seeing those eyes filled with disgust.

He squeezed Diana's soft hand while opening the car window and said to the people outside, "Head home."

Throughout the ride, Diana's body stayed stiff, afraid that Charles might suddenly go crazy.

She didn't dare to move, letting Charles treat her like a lifeless doll.

Luckily, he kept his actions restrained, just squeezing her hand and touching her hair.

It was still within Diana's tolerance threshold.

As soon as they got home, Jacob and Evelyn came up to greet them.

But the first to rush over was Snowy.

Diana broke free from his arms and said threateningly, "We're home now; don't touch me."

Charles's arms were empty, and he frowned slightly. Just as he was about to speak, Diana opened the car door and got out.

Snowy circled around her feet, making happy whimpering sounds, then rolled on the ground, exposing its belly for Diana to pet.

Its adorable behavior made Diana smile slightly, and she picked Snowy up, petting its head.

"Ms. Spencer, you shouldn't hold the dog too much," Jacob reminded as he walked over, but then he saw another person getting out of the car.

"Mr. Percy?" Jacob was somewhat surprised.

As Charles got out, Snowy smelled him and started barking, clearly treating him as a stranger.

Seeing Charles' displeased expression, Diana quickly moved aside with Snowy and explained, "I'll find someone to adopt Snowy soon and send it away."

But Snowy continued to bark at Charles.

In the next second, Diana grabbed its mouth, manually silencing it.

Charles naturally wouldn't argue with a dog. He glanced at Snowy and said, "You named it, and you're still going to send it away?"

Diana was at a loss for words and fell silent.

Snowy had to be sent away because she wouldn't stay here either.

Just when Charles thought she wouldn't answer, Diana suddenly spoke, "I will definitely send it away."

Charles paused, feeling a bit annoyed.

This Diana, usually so smart, why couldn't she get what he was trying to say now?

He wasn't forcing her to give the dog away. The Percy Mansion was big enough to keep a dog.

Jacob, on the other hand, got the hint. Charles was trying to be nice.

Having a dog around would definitely make things livelier, and it might even help improve the relationship between Charles and Diana!

Jacob smiled and said, "Since it has a name, it's meant to be here. Ms. Spencer, let's keep Snowy."

Diana shook her head. Charles wasn't a dog lover, and if Snowy stayed, who knows what might happen.

Her tone became more determined as she refused, "No, I'll find an adopter right away. I'll send it away in a few days."

With that, Diana handed Snowy to Evelyn and turned to go upstairs.

Jacob didn't expect that even after saying so much, she still refused.

He looked at Charles with some hesitation.

Sure enough, Charles's face was dark, and his mood visibly worsened.

Jacob softly reminded him, "Mr. Percy, it's cold outside. Let's go inside."

But in the next second, Charles sat back in the car's back seat.

His tone was cold, "Drive."

"Mr. Percy, you just got home." Jacob took a few steps forward, trying to persuade him.

But Charles ignored him, closed the car door, and quickly drove away from The Percy Mansion.

"What is going on?" Jacob sighed deeply, then glanced at Evelyn and couldn't help but say, "Evelyn, you should try to persuade Ms. Spencer. Mr. Percy just got back and now he's stormed off again."

Evelyn blinked her round eyes, confused about his words.

"Why is Mr. Percy angry? Ms. Spencer didn't provoke him. Besides, this is Mr. Percy's home; he can come and go as he pleases. What does it have to do with Ms. Spencer?"

With that, she carried Snowy back inside.

As she turned, her expression became disdainful.

Charles was being unreasonable. Whether to keep the dog or not, he was upset either way.

He blamed Diana for his sulking. Whoever wanted to appease him could do so, but she was wholeheartedly on Diana's side.

Thinking of this, Evelyn patted Snowy's head as a reward for its protective behavior earlier.

Then she lifted Snowy's drooping ear and whispered, "Snowy, you can bite him next time."

But then she remembered that Charles might harm it, and Evelyn got scared, holding Snowy's paw and saying, "Never mind; staying alive is more important."

Upstairs, Diana lay on the bed, seriously fiddling with her phone.

She had asked Robert and Isolde, but none of them could take in a dog.

As for Sabrina, she wasn't very familiar with her and didn't feel comfortable entrusting Snowy to her.

The only one she hadn't asked was Billy.

Billy had been very busy lately, and they only had occasional brief communications on the phone.

On the screen, Billy's last message was from three days ago.

After thinking for a moment, Diana sent a message.

Diana: [How have you been lately?]

She waited for a while, but there was no response.

Diana pouted, then tossed the phone aside and turned to her tablet.

Although Dean already knew her new identity, Diana still insisted on communicating with him on the Dark Web.

Only this way could their chat records leave no trace.

When she logged into the Dark Web, Dean was also online.

Diana immediately sent a voice call, and it was answered after just a few seconds.

He seemed to have just woken up, his voice thick with sleep, "What's up, Sophia?"

Diana's tone was calm, "I was in a car accident today."

Her words startled Dean awake.

He exclaimed, "What!"
