Chapter 131 Just this once

Brenda didn't speak too bluntly, but Diana's current condition was very poor.

If Charles continued to take care of Diana in this way, it wouldn't be long before they wouldn't even need to go to the hospital to protect the pregnancy—the baby would be lost.

The folks from Percy Group's hospital moved fast. At first, everyone thought something had happened to Charles, and they were all pretty freaked out.

When they got there, they realized it was a pregnant woman, and everyone got even more careful.

Brenda gave Diana some glucose in the car, and she woke up not long after.

Diana felt weak and her limbs were like jelly.

When her vision cleared, she saw Brenda and Charles, who looked pretty pissed.

The glucose made Diana's throat feel weird, and she frowned and coughed. Brenda, being sharp, helped her sit up and handed her a glass of water.

Diana took a few sips to soothe her throat before asking, "Where are we going?"

"The hospital," Charles said, arms crossed, looking all serious. He only answered because Diana asked.

Brenda chimed in, "Ms. Spencer, you're pregnant and not in great shape. You need to go to the hospital to ensure the baby's well-being. Pregnant women need to eat well, and you got low blood sugar from not eating."

Brenda's tone had a bit of a scolding edge to it.

Brenda had studied medicine for years and always got frustrated with patients who didn't take care of themselves.

Diana didn't respond to her but turned to Charles and said softly, "My stance hasn't changed, Mr. Percy. If you don't agree with me, I won't cooperate even if I go to the hospital."

As she spoke, Diana lay back down, staring at the car ceiling with a look of indifference to life and death.

Brenda didn't know what Diana wanted, but it seemed Charles could make it happen.

Thinking it could be easy for Charles to give Diana what she wanted, Brenda said, "Mr. Percy isn't a stingy person. Just behave and listen."

"Really?" Diana asked.

Logically, Charles hated this kind of behavior that seemed like a plea but was actually a threat.

But Diana lay on the hospital bed, her face pale and thin, making her eyes look even bigger.

Especially when Diana asked with an expectant look at Charles.

Charles couldn't help but enjoy this gaze.

He didn't realize it himself, but seeing this, he awkwardly turned his head and said coldly, "Just this once."

Hearing this, Diana immediately said, "Give me a new agreement. I also want to see Robert and Evelyn safe."

Charles' jaw tightened, looking like he was about to lose his temper. He was silent for a moment but eventually compromised and dialed a number on his phone. "Nolan, prepare a new agreement. I'll send you the details later. Once it's ready, bring it to the Percy Group's hospital immediately."

Diana watched him make the call, afraid Charles would fake it.

It wasn't until Charles hung up and turned back to her that she turned her head and said softly, "I'll cooperate, but only after signing."

Charles stared at her neck, grunted, and said no more.

Two years ago, before they got married, Charles gave Diana an agreement that bound their relationship together.

And today, two years later, another agreement brought the divorced couple back together.

Diana gently placed her hand on her abdomen, her eyelids drooping, casting a small shadow on her face, making her look serene and gentle.

Deep down, Diana vowed that she would never let this child, even if it meant death, end up in Charles' hands. The agreement was merely a delaying tactic.

Today, Charles wasn't at the company, and Nolan was busy handling his tasks.

When Charles called, Nolan still had a stack of documents to process.

Abigail noticed Nolan's expression after the call and curiously asked, "What's up? Did Mr. Percy give you a task? Let me see."

Nolan held his phone in one hand, the screen showing the agreement details Charles sent him. With his other hand, he pushed Abigail's head back and said seriously, "Business secret."

Then, Nolan pushed the documents to Abigail and continued, "These are for you. I need to deliver documents to Mr. Percy."

Hearing that, Abigail felt so distressed she wanted to slap herself, thinking she shouldn't have been so nosy.

After drafting the agreement, Nolan used the special printer in the president's office and quickly put the agreement into his briefcase.

It wasn't really a business secret, but if someone with ill intentions found out, it might make the news tomorrow.

Thinking of this, Nolan's expression became unnatural, and he silently pressed the gas pedal harder, speeding towards the hospital.

Meanwhile, Diana was already lying in a VIP ward.

This was the best ward in the Percy Group's hospital.

The space was large and warmly decorated, without the usual hospital smell of disinfectant, only a faint floral scent in the air.

Diana had undergone a series of examinations.

The doctor's report was similar to what Brenda had said. To ensure Diana's health, they even brought in a professional care team.

"I don't need a care team. I'm not a cripple. Mr. Percy, I want my maid Evelyn. Just bring her to accompany me." Diana sat on the hospital bed, frowning as she listened to their discussion.

Brenda noticed the untouched food in front of Diana and tried to persuade her. "Ms. Spencer, have a bite? You've been starving these days. Eat something to regain your strength."

Diana shook her head. It wasn't that she wasn't hungry, but without seeing the agreement, everything was still uncertain.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door.

Nolan's voice came through the door. "Mr. Percy, it's me. May I come in?"

Before Charles could answer, Diana said loudly, "Come in!"

Nolan entered with his briefcase. Although he noticed Diana on the bed at first glance, he still went straight to Charles. "Mr. Percy, the documents are ready."

Charles looked up and told the doctors, "All of you, leave."

Brenda and the doctors understood and left the ward, closing the door behind them.

For a moment, only the three of them were left in the ward.

Diana was eager to see the agreement, so she stretched her neck to try and catch a glimpse while Charles was checking it.

Nolan's documents were always meticulous. Charles only needed a glance to know the agreement was fine.

Charles reached out to Nolan, who handed him a pen. Charles quickly signed his name and handed the documents to Diana. "Sign it and then eat. Evelyn will be here by tonight."

Diana took the documents and read it more carefully than Charles.

The content was exactly as they had discussed. She would give birth to the child, and the shares of the Spencer Group in Charles' hands would fully belong to Diana.

Diana could also go out freely, but with someone accompanying her. Most importantly, Evelyn could come to stay with her.

Diana secretly breathed a sigh of relief. After being tense for so many days, she finally got what she wanted.

Diana picked up the pen and solemnly signed her name. She kept one copy and returned the other to Charles.

"Mr. Percy, happy cooperation." Diana's voice was still weak, but her eyes sparkled.

In this round, she had won.
