Chapter 436 Secret Weapon

Just as the excitement reached its peak and people were eagerly waiting for the train to start, Diana raised her hand and interrupted.

Her abrupt interruption annoyed everyone. The ride was about to start, so why hadn't she spoken up earlier?

Diana smiled apologetically and called over a staff member. "Sorry, my kid needs to use the bathroom. We can't ride."

Beside her, Benjamin began to squirm in his seat. "Mommy, I'm gonna pee my pants."

The crowd's irritation quickly dissipated.

It was better to let them off now than risk a mess once the ride started.

"Just get off already, you're killing the vibe."

"Yeah, get off."

"Alright, ma'am, I'll unlock the restraints for you," the staff member said, unfazed by the situation. He came over with the key and unlocked their safety bars.

Diana and Benjamin unbuckled their seatbelts, lifted the safety bars, and exited through the side.

The roller coaster underwent a quick safety check and restarted half a minute later.

This time, no one interrupted, and the ride took off with a chorus of screams.

"Quick, we need to move faster," Diana said as soon as they exited, picking up Benjamin and running to the right.

The men in black would take a moment to reach them, and they needed to use this window to escape the amusement park.

The men likely still thought they were on the ride, but once it reached the end, their absence would be obvious.

Two minutes after Diana and Benjamin left, the men in black arrived at the exit.

Unaware of the recent events, they leaned against the railing, waiting for the ride to finish.

About five minutes later, people began to exit.

Some were flushed and excitedly recounting the thrill of the ride to their friends, while others were pale and needed help walking.

The men in black scanned the crowd calmly.

Given Diana and Benjamin's timid nature, they were likely scared and might even be throwing up into a trash can. There was no rush.

But as they watched a young couple emerge, the girl scolded her boyfriend, "You call yourself a man? Scared of a roller coaster? Everyone's gone, and you're still dragging your feet. So annoying!"

The boyfriend was about to respond when one of the men in black interrupted, "Excuse me, are there any more passengers?"

"No, that's it. If there are any, they'll be in the next batch. I wanted to ride again, but now we have to wait," the girl replied, poking her boyfriend's shoulder in frustration.

The man in black's face darkened. He grabbed the girl's arm and asked, "Did you see a young woman with a kid on this ride?"

His sudden action startled the girl, and her boyfriend, who had been sluggish, sprang to life, standing protectively in front of her. "What are you doing? Let her go!"

Realizing he had been too aggressive, the man in black released her and asked again.

Typically, passengers don't notice others, but Diana and Benjamin had made a scene before the ride started, so the couple remembered them.

"They got off before the ride started. The kid said he needed to pee, so they probably went to the bathroom."

The couple quickly left, not wanting to engage further with the intimidating men.

The two men in black exchanged glances.

One took out his phone and called Diana, but unsurprisingly, she didn't answer.

He pursed his lips and said to his partner, "You check the exit, I'll check the bathroom."

They split up, each heading in different directions.

As bodyguards trained by the Percy Group, the men in black usually protected Charles.

But since Diana and Benjamin's arrival, they occasionally had to watch over them.

It was more surveillance than protection, but over time, they treated it as a break.

Diana and Benjamin's routine of parks and malls posed no real danger.

But today felt different. The phone wasn't answered, and they couldn't see them. Something was off.

The nearest exit to the roller coaster was the east gate. The man in black sprinted through the park.

Meanwhile, in the underground parking garage, Diana, panting heavily, set Benjamin down.

Seeing her sweat-drenched face, Benjamin offered, "Mommy, let me walk. I can do it."

Diana didn't argue and put him down. Her voice was hoarse as she pointed ahead, "We can get out from here. Once we're out, we head straight to the airport and we'll be home."

Benjamin nodded, and they ran towards the exit.

Suddenly, a low voice called from behind, "Ms. Wipere, where are you taking Benjamin?"

Diana and Benjamin's hearts raced, but they ran even faster. They couldn't stop; stopping meant getting caught.

They didn't look back, just kept running.

The man in black frowned.

He had checked the bathroom and found no one, then saw some visitors coming from the underground parking. He quickly deduced their location and chased after them.

If they hadn't run, he might have thought they were there by accident. But their behavior clearly indicated they were hiding something.

"Stop!"

He sped up, focusing on one of them.

Diana, exhausted, fell behind Benjamin. The man in black closed in.

She stumbled and fell hard.

Benjamin noticed the commotion and stopped, turning back.

He saw Diana, hair disheveled, being grabbed by the man in black. Her knee was scraped and bleeding, clearly painful.

The man in black held her arm and shouted at Benjamin, "Benjamin, come…"

Before he could finish, he felt a sharp pain in his arm. He looked down to see a syringe embedded in it.

As Diana pushed the plunger, he felt dizzy and collapsed.

Diana pulled out the syringe and tossed it aside. She fixed her hair and grabbed the unconscious man's arm, calling to Benjamin, "Come help me drag him to the corner, or he'll get hit by a car."

Seeing the plan succeed, Benjamin breathed a sigh of relief. His eyes welled up; he had almost cried in the panic.

Thankfully, Diana had seized the moment.

From the start, Diana had told him she had a tranquilizer. Taking down one adult man was manageable.

If they were chased, they'd fight back if it was just one person. Benjamin's job was to keep running; she'd handle the rest.

Luckily, she had succeeded.

They struggled to drag the man to a corner behind a pillar. He looked peaceful, as if asleep.

"Let's go to the airport," Diana said, dusting off her hands.

Without a second glance, she led Benjamin away.
