Chapter 205 Child Warrior
Following the sound of his voice, the other kids turned their heads.
They saw a strange man in black clothes grabbing Diana.
Meanwhile, Ridge rushed over and started pummeling Charles with his tiny fists.
Even though the punches didn't hurt much, they were enough to embarrass Charles.
Charles hadn't even had a chance to talk to Diana before Ridge started pounding on him.
Annoyed, he reached out to hold Ridge's head and pushed him away a bit.
But the next second, all the other kids swarmed over.
They shouted, "Don't bully Diana and Ridge!"
Kids might not be strong, but they sure knew how to pester someone.
Their weapons included high-pitched screams, their baby teeth, and their own body weight.
Already having a headache, Charles now had his ears ringing from the noise, and kids hanging from his arms and legs.
They clung to him like sloths to a tree, refusing to let go.
His remaining conscience stopped him from using violence against the kids, so he just grumbled, "Let go!"
What worked on adults had no effect on kids, and he was met with a sharp pain.
One of the kids was biting him.
Luckily, the pain wasn't too bad through his clothes.
Diana was also rescued by this group of little warriors, and Willow held her hand, patting her arm to comfort her, "Diana, don't be scared, we've got the bad guy."
The scene happened so suddenly that Diana was a bit stunned, looking at Charles.
He glared at her, his tone impatient, "What are you standing there for! Tell them to let go!"
Before Diana could respond, Willow stood in front of her, exclaiming, "Don't think you can threaten Diana; we won't let you go!"
With that, Willow rushed forward and gave Charles a hard push.
Normally, such little strength wouldn't mean much to him.
But now he had a headache and a stomachache, and was being restrained by this group of kids.
At this moment, he felt like Gulliver in "Gulliver's Travels," just arriving in Lilliput.
Amid the cheers of the kids, Charles fell.
Diana walked up, looking down at him with a face full of schadenfreude.
Charles fell into a pile of leaves, not hurt, but his mind went blank for a moment.
When he came to, he saw Diana standing in front of him against the light, smiling.
For a moment, he forgot to be angry, staring at her face in a daze.
Something cold fell from the sky, landing on Charles' neck and melting into water from his body heat.
"It's snowing!" A little girl exclaimed, and the other kids looked up.
Taking this opportunity, Charles broke free, sitting up with his legs bent.
The kids saw this and quickly tried to push him back down, but it wasn't so easy this time.
Diana had never seen him so disheveled and wanted to laugh out loud. But she was afraid he might suddenly get mad.
She held back her laughter, clapped her hands, and exclaimed, "Kids, it's a misunderstanding. He came to find me; he's not a bad guy."
Ridge paused, looking back at Diana's natural expression, not like someone being bullied.
Could this man just be Diana's friend?
Thinking this, Ridge's face flushed, and he quickly apologized, "Sorry, Diana!"
The other kids also let go, looking at each other and saying, "Sorry, Diana."
Diana found this scene adorable and waved her hand, generously forgiving them on Charles' behalf.
Seeing him still sitting on the ground, Diana extended a hand and said, "Kids are mischievous. Mr. Percy, you're a forgiving person; don't hold it against them."
Her eyes sparkled, and in just a moment, her hair was covered in snowflakes.
Charles pursed his lips, unable to muster any anger, and snorted as he extended his hand.
Diana raised an eyebrow, not expecting him to be so cooperative.
But as soon as their hands clasped, Charles pulled hard.
Diana, caught off guard, was pulled down and fell into his cold embrace the next second.
The wind mixed with fine snow, her face pressed into Charles' chest, her nose hurting from the impact.
She heard a light laugh above her head, resonating through his chest, making her ears tingle.
Then came Charles' somewhat gritted voice, "Diana, you're getting bolder, daring to mess with me like this."
As expected, she knew it. When had Charles ever been so easygoing? He did it on purpose.
Diana pushed against his chest with both hands, her expression displeased.
"I didn't; you just looked sneaky. You're the president of the Percy Group; are you really going to hold a grudge against a bunch of kids?"
With that, she tried to get up; but Charles held her waist, not letting her move.
They were so close, their breaths mingling, making her recall some unpleasant memories.
Diana added, "What are you doing? Let go!"
The children watched the commotion with great interest, curiously surrounding them.
Why was Diana's friend holding her?
One little girl suddenly remembered a scene from TV and exclaimed, "Diana, are you dating this man?"
Hearing this, Diana felt a lump in her throat, her face blushing.
Ignoring whether Charles was angry, she reached out and pinched his side.
Charles' expression changed, curling up.
Seizing the moment, Diana wrenched herself free from his embrace and stammered, "The kids are watching, what are you doing?"
But even after she finished speaking, Charles remained silent with his head down.
"Charles?" Diana raised her hand to his shoulder, and the next second, he fell back like a domino.
Diana was startled and thought, 'Have I really pinched him that hard?'
With a thud, Charles lay back in the leaves, his eyes closed and brows furrowed. He looked like he was in pain, his face pale and fragile.
The children were scared. Willow reacted the fastest, saying, "I'll go get Ms. Hope," and ran towards the house.
"Charles, are you okay? What's wrong?" Diana touched his shoulder in shock, but he didn't respond.
Had she pinched too hard and hurt his kidney?
Kidney rupture! Diana's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly realized it was impossible.
She reached out and touched Charles' forehead, and it was very hot.
He just had a fever. She thought he was dying; what a relief.
Diana pouted, starting to slap his face, the sound crisp and clear.
"Charles, wake up. Can you hear me? You can't sleep here; you'll freeze. Get up and go inside."
Maybe her attitude was too indifferent, even the children couldn't stand it. "Diana, he's fainted and can't hear you; we should move him inside."
Diana blinked, her tone light, "But I'm not very strong; look how tall he is. Let's wait for help."
Actually, she just wanted Charles to freeze a bit longer, freeze to death if possible.
As if dissatisfied with her behavior, Charles suddenly started coughing, taking a moment to catch his breath.
He sat up awkwardly, extending his hand to Diana again, his voice hoarse, "I can walk; help me back."
