Chapter 217 Delivering Medicine

Robert's face turned grim; he had a hunch that Diana had no clue about the real market value of these shares.

Otherwise, why would she throw out such a random price?

"With the Spencer Group's current operations, it can definitely generate more value. How can you sell it for just eight million dollars?"

"It's fine, Robert. I've made up my mind," Diana said calmly. No matter the price, the money was coming from her. Dean was just a front to transfer the Spencer Group; there was no need to haggle.

"But..." Robert started to protest.

Diana cut him off, "Robert, I know what I'm doing. Selling the company now is for its future growth. Please prepare the transfer contract and get the buyer's signature. He's abroad and probably can't come over, so you can handle the details."

She had to get out of here, and she needed to take care of everything. This was all she could tell Robert for now.

Seeing her determination, Robert didn't push further.

He adjusted his glasses, looked away, and said in a deep voice, "I'll prepare the contract. And what about the Williams family?"

Diana blinked, almost forgetting about Nathan and Clara, who were probably living it up with her five million dollars.

But their good times were about to end.

Diana clasped her hands together, her tone lightening, "Of course, I'll keep suing them. They've had enough rest. Nathan embezzled public funds and lived lavishly, causing so much harm to the Spencer Group. We can't let them off easily."

Hearing this, Robert's expression softened a bit. She was still thinking about avenging the Spencer family; this was the Diana he knew.

Maybe he should trust her; selling the shares wasn't a rash decision.

"Alright, I'll handle it when I get back." Robert straightened his documents, his expression returning to its usual reliable look.

Noticing their discussion was wrapping up, Diana glanced at the time and got up to say goodbye to Robert.

If she didn't deliver the medicine soon, Charles might be in pain at the Percy Group, and she didn't want to face his wrath.

Thinking about that, Diana hugged herself and rubbed her arms.

The bodyguard, who had been watching her, quickly followed as she got up to leave.

This wasn't her first time at this coffee shop, which was just across the street from the Percy Group.

The Percy Group's office building was over thirty stories high, with Charles's office on the top floor.

At this moment, he was sitting in his chair, his lips pale, and his forehead covered in a fine layer of sweat.

Due to the stomach pain, he had to use one hand to clutch his stomach to alleviate it.

"Nolan," Charles picked up the phone beside him, his voice low, "Where's the medicine?"

On the other end, Nolan checked the time. He had called Jacob an hour ago, and the medicine should have arrived by now, but there was no sign of it.

"Sorry, Mr. Percy. I've already notified Jacob, and the medicine should have arrived. I'll go check now."

Downstairs, Diana and the bodyguard were having trouble.

"Ms. Spencer, I'm sorry, but you'll need an appointment to go upstairs. Please take the item with you," the receptionist looked troubled.

Diana hadn't been to the Percy Group for a long time, so why was she suddenly here to deliver something today?

When she was still "Mrs. Percy", she often brought "heartwarming lunch boxes."

But Charles threw them all away and even instructed the Percy Group staff to treat anything Diana brought as trash.

"Charles has a stomachache, and this is the medicine from home," Diana said impatiently, arms crossed.

She just wanted to drop off the medicine and leave, but when she turned around, the receptionist had tossed it in the trash.

The bodyguard had fished it out and put it back on the counter.

He looked intimidating, and the two receptionists and the security guard didn't dare to do anything.

"Ms. Spencer, please understand our position. You've used this excuse before when delivering things," the receptionist said, avoiding Diana's gaze, feeling a bit annoyed.

Diana felt helpless; it was the original Diana who had caused this mess. "Forget it, I'll call Nolan and have him come down to get it."

She pulled out her phone and was about to dial when a clear female voice chimed in, "What's going on here? Are you here to see Mr. Percy?"

Claire, dressed in a pink business suit and holding a coffee, had just returned from outside and saw the commotion at the reception.

The receptionist's eyes lit up when she saw Claire and immediately spoke, "Ms. Murphy!"

Diana paused and looked at Claire.

This was their first meeting. Despite it being their first meeting, Claire gave Diana a familiar feeling that she couldn't quite place.

Claire was also sizing up Diana, who had flawless skin, a high nose, pink lips, and bright, clear eyes, even without makeup.

A strong sense of crisis surged in Claire's heart. Was this one of Charles's admirers? She couldn't help but ask, "Miss, who are you here to see?"

"Ms. Murphy, she's here to see Mr. Percy," the receptionist answered for Diana.

"Yes," Diana nodded slightly, pointing to the stomach medicine on the counter. "Are you Charles's secretary? Please take the medicine up; he has a stomachache."

Her tone was casual, and since his secretary was here, there was no need to linger at the reception.

But Claire frowned, looking troubled, "Sorry, miss, I can't help you unless you can prove that Mr. Percy asked you to deliver this."

Why was everyone here so difficult? She was delivering stomach medicine, not a bomb.

Why did they make such a simple matter so complicated?

Noticing that Claire was also uncooperative, Diana was silent for a moment before dialing Nolan's number.

"Mr. Smith, Jacob asked me to deliver something, and I..."

Before she could finish, Nolan came around the corner from the elevator.

They exchanged a glance and hung up the phone.

The receptionists were about to explain, but Nolan only had eyes for the medicine.

He quickly took it, thanked Diana, and hurried back to the elevator.

Diana mentally praised Nolan's efficiency. This was a good employee who cared about his boss. If the Percy Group were full of people like the ones downstairs, Charles would have been in pain long ago.

With the matter settled, Diana didn't want to stay any longer and left the Percy Group with her bodyguard.

The two receptionists watched her leave and couldn't help but complain, "Ms. Spencer is really annoying. She never makes an appointment and puts us in a difficult position. We can't win either way."

"Yeah, it's impossible for us to guess Mr. Percy's thoughts. One day we're allowed to let her in, the next day we're not."

Claire, listening to their complaints, leaned in and asked, "What did you call her?"

"You didn't know?" The receptionist asked, surprised, but then remembered that Claire was new and didn't know much.

Given Claire's good reputation at the Percy Group, the receptionist leaned in and whispered, "You should be careful. Ms. Spencer is Mr. Percy's ex-wife."
