Chapter 126 Moving Back to the Storage Room

Nolan was fuming at Billy's attitude.

Honestly, both Diana and Billy had a knack for getting under Charles's skin.

In some weird way, Diana and Billy were a match made in heaven.

Too bad Diana was now carrying the heir to the Percy Group.

And as for Charles, there was no way he was going to back down.

Nolan's voice had a threatening edge. "Mr. Richardson, you'd better watch yourself around Mr. Percy. You've been abroad for years and don't know what he's like. Keep pushing him, and the Richardson Group will be in deep trouble."

Billy shot him a cold look. "I'm no coward. Steal my woman and then threaten me? The Richardson Group isn't a pushover either."

With that, Billy turned and walked away, not bothering to see Nolan's reaction.

Nolan took a deep breath, fists clenched. But after thinking it over, he decided not to tell Charles for the sake of the company's future.

The Percys were already watching the Percy Group like hawks. If they had to split their attention to deal with the Richardson Group too, a lot of business would come to a standstill.

All Nolan could do was keep Billy's words to himself. If Billy kept causing trouble, no one could stop Charles then.

In his office, Charles was still stewing over what Billy had said, feeling a mix of anger and discomfort.

He thought, 'That Diana really is something, making Billy so infatuated with her and constantly defending her!'

Charles slammed his fist on the table, still fuming. Just then, his phone rang.

Seeing it was Jacob, Charles frowned. Jacob had been with the Percy Family for decades and wouldn't call unless it was urgent. "Hello, what's up?"

"Mr. Percy, Ms. Spencer hasn't eaten all day." Jacob sounded worried. He'd delivered two meals, but they were left untouched, and Diana hadn't eaten a thing.

She responded when he knocked, but after a few words, she got annoyed and stopped answering.

Already in a bad mood, Charles got even angrier hearing this. "If she doesn't want to eat, don't bother. She'll come out when she's hungry."

Hearing Charles's angry tone, Jacob hesitated but reminded him, "Mr. Percy, Ms. Spencer is pregnant."

"So what? I don't believe she'll starve herself! Jacob, have you forgotten who you work for?" Charles's voice was cold.

"Sorry, Mr. Percy, I overstepped," Jacob said.

"It seems I've made her life too comfortable. Send her back to her old room. I don't want to see her!" Charles snapped, thinking Diana would only take advantage if treated too well.

The old room was the tiny storage room Diana had lived in when she first got married. Now, with the weather getting colder, that place had no heating.

Winter in Evergreen City was brutal. How could a pregnant woman like Diana live there?

Jacob wanted to say more, but Charles hung up before he could.

Jacob stood there for a moment, then sighed and knocked on Diana's door again. "Ms. Spencer."

Inside, Diana was annoyed at the interruption. "Jacob, I really don't want to eat. No matter how many times you ask, I'm not eating. Stop calling me!"

"It's not that. Mr. Percy said..." Jacob stood at the door, his tone hesitant.

Diana opened the door and asked, "What did he say?"

She couldn't help but think, 'Is Charles finally giving in? Maybe my hunger strike worked.'

"Mr. Percy said you should move back to your original room," Jacob said, his voice barely above a whisper, but Diana heard it loud and clear.

"What do you mean? The original room? You mean that storage room?" Diana asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.

"Yes," Jacob replied, turning his head away, feeling guilty even though it wasn't his decision.

Diana stood there for a moment, realizing Charles wasn't relenting; he was punishing her. "Fine, after all, this is The Percy Mansion."

Her expression didn't change as she walked out. She knew the way to that storage room all too well.

Jacob, worried, followed her, and they both arrived at the room.

The bed she used to sleep on was still there, and the table was covered in dust.

"Ms. Spencer, come back later. I'll have someone clean it up and bring a heater," Jacob offered.

Diana waved a hand in front of her nose. To her, living with Charles was no different from living in a prison. Now, this small, windowless room really felt like a prison.

"No need, I have a high body temperature. This place is too small for a heater anyway. As long as I can sleep, it's fine."

Seeing her refusal, Jacob sighed and called for someone to clean up.

While they cleaned, Diana walked to the window in the hallway, looking down at the garden, lost in thought.

Winter was approaching, and the garden was devoid of its usual vibrant flowers.

Diana exhaled, trying to rid herself of the bad emotions.

When she was still in the organization, she had never been so constrained. Now, one wrong step could lead to an endless abyss.

No one could solve Diana's problems for her; she could only rely on herself now.

As she was thinking, the sound of an engine came from downstairs.

It was probably Charles coming back. Diana didn't want to see him, so she turned and went back to the small storage room.

Fortunately, the place was small, and the servants cleaned it quickly.

Although the environment was poor, it was still much better than where she had lived before.

Jacob had the servants lay down thick carpets, and even the corners of the table were covered.

The originally dim light bulb was replaced with a larger one, making the room look somewhat cozy under the warm yellow light.

The servants, seeing Diana move back to this room, looked at her with disdain.

They thought having a kid would bring her back to Charles' side, but she was still not favored.

Diana didn't know what they were thinking. After locking the door, she threw herself onto the soft bed.

When Charles returned home, his face was still gloomy. Seeing Jacob approaching, he asked in a low voice, "Where is she?"

Jacob took a moment to realize Charles was talking about Diana. "Ms. Spencer has moved back to her original room."

"Did she say anything?" Charles was a bit surprised that she was so obedient.

"Ms. Spencer didn't say anything. She hasn't come out since she went in. Mr. Percy, that room doesn't have..."

Jacob's words were cut off by Charles. "Not coming out? She still thinks too highly of herself. Don't bother with her."

With that, Charles went upstairs, glancing at the room from a distance. The light inside seeped through the door crack, warm and soft.

But to Charles, it was glaring. He turned away angrily, not looking at it again.
