Chapter 238 Sprained Ankle

Diana grabbed Noah's collar with one hand, her voice tight, "No need; I'll get the bodyguard to help me."

Before she could finish, Noah tightened his grip, his expression serious. "Ms. Spencer, you're hurt. It doesn't matter who helps you; you need to take care of that wound first."

He waved down a passing servant and said, "Take us to the lounge. This lady's injured."

The servant glanced at them and quickly led the way. Diana was helped onto the sofa, and within minutes, her ankle had swollen up.

Noah knelt in front of Diana, lifting her left foot gently. Even this simple movement made her wince in pain.

"I'm not sure if there's a bone injury. I'll take you to the hospital," Noah said, frowning as he saw her pain.

A nearby servant hurriedly brought a first aid kit and said, "There's a doctor in Homestead Sunset Valley. I'll call him over right now."

Homestead Sunset Valley was well-prepared for emergencies. Soon, a middle-aged male doctor arrived. He immediately noticed Diana's swollen foot.

He knelt down and asked, "What happened?"

"The heel of my high heel broke, and I twisted my ankle." Diana spoke through her pain.

"I'm going to check if there's any bone damage. It might hurt a bit, so bear with me," the doctor said, frowning as he held Diana's foot.

After a thorough examination, Diana was sweating from the pain. Fortunately, it was just a sprain.

The doctor put her leg down and advised, "Apply a cold compress to reduce the swelling, then use a warm compress. Avoid wearing high heels for a while."

With that, he left without further ado.

Diana, biting her lip to endure the pain, suddenly remembered something and called out to Noah, "Noah, Sabrina's wearing shoes from the same brand as mine. You should warn her."

Sabrina's movements were much more exaggerated than hers. If she had the same issue, it would be quite painful.

Noah, who had been listening to the doctor's instructions, was momentarily stunned by her concern. Then he smiled, "Even now, are you still worried about her?"

Diana's expression turned stern as she retorted, "Even now, you can still smile?"

"Alright." Noah's smile didn't fade as he agreed, finding her anger more lively than her usual polite demeanor.

Watching him leave, Diana tried to move her foot. She barely put any weight on it before the pain made her unable to stand.

It seemed her birthday party was over for today, not that she enjoyed such events anyway.

Before she could think further, the lounge door opened again. Noah walked in, holding a glass filled with ice.

"I played football in high school and sprained my ankle many times. I got some ice; let's use it for a cold compress," he said, placing the glass on the coffee table.

He took a wet wipe, wrapped the ice in it, and made a simple ice pack. Kneeling down, he lifted Diana's foot again.

Under the light, her foot looked like a delicate piece of art, smooth and fine, marred only by the swollen ankle.

Noah gently applied the ice pack, the cold making Diana shiver and try to pull her foot back, but he held it firmly.

Thinking she was resisting treatment, Noah's tone turned slightly scolding, "Calm down. If we don't use the cold compress, the swelling will get worse."

Diana bit her lip and stopped struggling. But Noah, being a guy, sometimes used too much force. The contrast between the heat of his hand and the cold of the ice made her uncomfortable.

Diana let out a muffled groan, making the atmosphere in the lounge a bit awkwardly suggestive.

Noah broke the silence, "Today's incident was partly the styling studio's fault, but since Sabrina brought you, we share some responsibility. If you want, you can stay at The Glenn Mansion. I'll hire a therapist for you until you recover."

His offer was so unexpected that Diana took a moment to respond, "The shoe issue isn't your fault. Besides, it's just a sprain, not paralysis."

Noah looked at her injury, visibly improved after the ice treatment. He felt a bit disappointed, thinking he could have convinced her to stay at his place.

Seeing the ice was almost used up, Noah stood to get more, but Diana stopped him, "No need. I can't attend the party. Please take me outside. My bodyguard is waiting."

Noah paused, feeling a bit regretful. Sabrina had planned so much to have Diana as her companion, only for it to be ruined by a pair of shoes.

But seeing her condition, Noah couldn't insist. He smiled, "Alright, let's use the rest of the ice, and then I'll take you out."

In the banquet hall, guests had mostly arrived, but their eyes kept darting to the entrance. The key figure of the evening hadn't shown up yet.

Recently, Charles had been pressuring the Richardson Group, which everyone noticed. Yet, he was attending Vance's birthday party. No one knew his intentions.

As a silver Maybach pulled up, servants welcomed Charles. He arrived alone, without a date, and even Nolan wasn't with him.

For anyone else, arriving alone might seem lonely, but for Charles, it exuded a sense of solitary strength.

As he entered the hall, he drew countless gazes, and the room quieted down. Most businessmen wanted to approach him but felt unworthy.

Women eyed him like a dazzling jewel, but they didn't dare approach. Charles's disinterest in women was well-known. The chance to rise quickly was tempting, but their safety was equally important.

Among the women, one was particularly eager. Claire, in a stunning red dress, looked especially alluring. Seeing Charles alone, her heart raced with excitement.

Just as she was about to approach, someone beat her to it.

"Charles!" Sabrina bounced over, grabbing his sleeve with a cheerful smile.

Charles initially wanted to shake her off but stopped when he saw it was Sabrina. He pulled his sleeve back and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Sabrina pouted, "If you can come, why can't I? I'm here with Noah and my sister-in-law."

Sister-in-law? Noah's dating someone?

Since the Glenn family returned, they had mostly economic ties with the Percy family, so Charles hadn't kept up with their personal lives.

Sabrina usually behaved, occasionally inviting him to meals, but she didn't persist when he declined. This left Charles with a good impression of her—just a harmless girl.
