Chapter 244 Please

Diana was gasping for breath, her cheeks flushed. Tears glistened in her eyes from the pain, making her eyes sparkle even more.

"You cheated! You had someone catch me; that doesn't count! Let me go!"

She struggled to break free, just a little more and she would have escaped!

But in the next second, her feet left the ground as Charles scooped her up.

Charles's voice was teasing, "I didn't cheat."

As if to prove his point, a group of people came running up behind them.

They looked serious, and seeing Diana struggle, they quickly surrounded Charles. They were holding riot control baton, clearly well-trained.

"Put her down! We received a report that this lady said someone was chasing her. We have reasonable suspicion that you are the suspect."

Their words were firm, and Diana was momentarily stunned.

They really weren't Charles's accomplices; they were security personnel called by the staff when she was trying to escape.

'Damn it! If only I had run back!' Diana thought regretfully.

"Yes! He's the suspect, arrest him! Let me go, you jerk!" Diana echoed their words while struggling desperately.

The security guards exchanged glances and urged, "Let go of the lady!"

Charles's expression remained indifferent, showing no sign of being threatened. He said coldly, "I'm Charles, and this is my wife. We had a fight, and she's throwing a tantrum."

Before the security guards could question further, Diana's eyes widened as she retorted, "Bullshit! Who's your wife! Let me go; we're divorced!"

Unknowingly, her words just confirmed Charles's statement.

He smiled slightly, raising his chin at the security guards as if to say, "See, she's just throwing a tantrum."

The security guards, some of whom were married, knew that their wives also liked to threaten divorce during arguments. They started to believe him a bit more.

Moreover, this was Charles.

Although they didn't know who Charles was, they had been informed before the birthday party that "Mr. Percy" was an important guest not to be messed with.

One of the guards, still cautious, asked, "How can you prove you're Charles?"

Diana immediately chimed in, "Yeah, how can you prove you're Charles!"

But in the next second, Charles pulled out his driver's license from his pocket and handed it to the security guard.

They checked it, comparing the photo with Charles, and it was indeed him.

The guard returned the license, apologizing, "Sorry, Mr. Percy, it was a misunderstanding. Are you heading back? I'll arrange a car for you."

Charles nodded slightly, agreeing to their suggestion.

After all the commotion, Charles was unscathed, but Diana's eyes were red with anger.

She grabbed his collar, yelling, "You bastard!"

Why someone as wealthy as Charles, who always had a driver, would carry his driver's license with him!

Charles smiled slightly, as if he could read her thoughts, and said calmly, "Obeying the law is a civic virtue."

But soon, his smile faded, and he gripped Diana's chin coldly, "Save your strength; you've already lost."

At that moment, Diana didn't understand what he meant, but when she was brought into Mirage Nights Club, she realized.

Knowing Charles's twisted sense of humor, he was probably going to hand her over to some old man.

Seeing the flashy lights of Mirage Nights Club, Diana panicked.

Her eyelashes trembled, and she refused to go in, pleading, "Please, I don't want to go."

Charles pulled her arm, his expression cold, "Diana, do you think you're so charming? Billy and Noah, all for you. How many more men do you want?"

The emotions Charles had suppressed all night erupted, and Diana's wrist hurt from his grip. She couldn't help but cry out in pain, "Let go! I don't know what you're talking about, I'm not going in."

Sensing her pain, Charles loosened his grip but remained firm, "It's not up to you."

Noticing that resistance was futile, Diana's attitude softened instantly. Tears streamed down her face, making her look pitiful. "Please, don't make me go with the old man."

Hearing this, Charles frowned.

Did she really think so poorly of him? How could she imagine such a thing?

Seeing him silent, Diana continued, "Charles, I'm carrying your child!"

But she couldn't hold back, and her attitude hardened again.

Charles was silent for a moment, deciding not to argue. No matter what, Diana would always imagine the worst.

He kept a cold face and dragged her into the elevator.

With his grip on her shoulder, Diana couldn't break free.

In the next second, Charles's voice was cold and deep, "Don't want to go with the old man?"

"No shit! Would you want me to send you to sleep with someone?" Tears still on her face, Diana's attitude was defiant.

She thought, 'Damn Charles, one day, I will make you taste this humiliation.'

"Please me, and you won't have to go with the old man." Charles's expression was calm, as if he were discussing something trivial.

Diana's eyes widened. What did he mean by "please him"?

Noticing her stunned, Charles pinched her earlobe, reminding her, "If you haven't thought of something by the time the elevator stops, this offer is off the table."

As soon as he finished speaking, the elevator dinged and stopped.

It was as if a string in Diana's mind was plucked. She stood on tiptoe and kissed Charles on the cheek.

The kiss was so innocent, like a butterfly, soft and fragrant.

Charles's pupils contracted sharply, and in the confined space of the elevator, he could clearly hear his own rapid heartbeat.

Beside him, Diana tugged at his sleeve, her eyes avoiding his, her face full of reluctance, and her words stammering, "Charles, you're the best, the most handsome."

Such low-level flattery made Diana despise herself.

She didn't know how to please men, let alone flatter them.

Men had always pleased her, but now she had no other choice.

What she didn't know was that this simple gesture made Charles's heart soar with joy.

In the next second, he grabbed her wrist.

Without a word, Charles pulled her out of the elevator.

Diana's eyes widened, and she shook her hand, "Where are you taking me? I'm not going!"

She realized that her attempt to please him wasn't enough.

She grabbed Charles, pleading, "Please, give me another chance."

Hearing this, Charles stopped and wondered what new trick she had.

Diana took a deep breath, looking as if she had made some kind of resolution.

She cupped Charles's face with both hands, squeezing slightly, making his handsome face look a bit comical, not so intimidating.

She stood on tiptoe to kiss him again. This time the kiss on the forehead, was warm and soft.

After the kiss, her eyes flickered, and she forced herself to praise, "Charles, you're such a kind person."

Seeing no reaction from him, Diana closed her eyes and kissed him a few more times, continuing, "Charles, you're such a great person."

No matter what she said or where she kissed, Charles remained as unresponsive as a statue.

He stood there, expressionless, as she kissed him over a dozen times.

Diana was exhausted, letting go, resigned to her fate, "Whatever, let me go with the old man."
