Chapter 125 Stealing My Woman
Nolan saw Charles give the nod and was about to ask the receptionist to send Billy up.
But then he remembered who Billy was and thought better of it. Nolan decided to go down and get him himself.
"Mr. Richardson, Mr. Percy wants to see you upstairs," Nolan said as he walked up to Billy.
Billy, who had been staring at the floor, heard the familiar voice, looked up, and saw it was Charles' special assistant.
His patience had paid off. He stood up, looking calm and collected, and said, "Alright, lead the way, Nolan."
They got into the elevator, and the employees downstairs started whispering, thinking Billy must be here for some big deal if he was waiting downstairs in person.
Billy and Nolan took the express elevator straight to the CEO's office. It was a quick ride.
"This is Mr. Percy's office," Nolan said, knocking on the door and raising his voice a bit, "Mr. Percy, Mr. Richardson is here."
"Come in," Charles replied.
Nolan led Billy in and noticed Charles wasn't exactly rolling out the red carpet. He was still buried in his documents, and there wasn't even a glass of water on the table. Abigail wasn't usually this careless, so it must have been Charles who instructed her not to serve water.
Billy didn't care; he wasn't here for refreshments.
"Mr. Percy, long time no see. Since I got back, I've heard a lot about you. I haven't had the chance to talk to you privately, so I came by today. I hope you can spare some time." Billy's words were smooth and respectful, but his eyes met Charles' with a steady gaze, neither humble nor overbearing.
In social etiquette, when asking someone for something, the attitude should naturally be humble. But Billy's direct stare was more like a challenge, not someone asking for a favor.
Everything Billy had done since coming back had been pushing Charles' buttons. Expecting him to be respectful was a long shot.
On the other hand, Vance's attitude towards Charles was pretty good.
"Cut to the chase, don't waste my time with small talk," Charles said, raising an eyebrow and putting down his document, waiting to hear what Billy had to say.
Billy glanced at Nolan standing nearby and said, "Mr. Percy, what I want to discuss might be better suited for a private conversation."
"He's not an outsider; there's nothing he can't hear. If you don't want to talk, then get out."
Charles' words were blunt, but they warmed Nolan's heart. Nolan needed to be on the same page as Charles and see what Billy had to say. Thinking this, he moved a bit closer to Charles.
Billy raised an eyebrow slightly, looking a bit helpless.
"Alright, I'll get straight to the point. I hope you can return Diana to me, Mr. Percy." Billy's words were calm, but they hit Nolan and Charles like a bombshell.
Nolan knew Billy was bold, but he didn't expect him to be this bold.
He thought, 'Trying to take Charles' woman, is he out of his mind?'
Sure enough, Nolan glanced sideways and saw Charles' face darken, clearly holding back his anger.
Billy, however, seemed completely unaware of the tension and kept going, "I've looked into it, Mr. Percy. You don't even like Diana. You've been divorced for a while now. So why keep dragging this out? I care about Diana, so please don't make things hard for the woman I love."
"Who do you think you are? What do you have to negotiate with me?" Charles' face was tight, and his eyes were filled with icy coldness.
"I came to talk to you sincerely. If you agree, the Richardson Group is willing to support the Percy Group. You know the connections my father has." Billy's tone was firm. He had done his homework on Diana and Charles.
The industry consensus was that Diana and Charles were a mismatch.
Billy was both relieved that Charles didn't appreciate Diana and angry that Diana had suffered since their marriage.
Now Billy was willing to take Diana away, giving Charles face. After all, to Charles, Diana was just an annoying woman.
"Don't you know Diana is pregnant with my kid?" Charles' tone was icy, and he didn't understand why Billy was so devoted to Diana.
But Charles had clearly underestimated Billy's affection for Diana.
Upon hearing this, Billy's expression didn't change, and he maintained a polite, distant smile. "I don't care, and besides, Diana doesn't want this kid. We'll terminate the pregnancy, so there won't be an heir crisis for the Percy Group."
"What is it about Diana that attracts you? Does your father know you want to marry such a woman?" Charles' brows furrowed, clearly displeased.
Billy's expression also darkened. He hated it when people used Vance to pressure him.
Moreover, Charles was just an outsider. All the conditions were in his favor, so why was he acting like an elder?
Billy added, "Mr. Percy, you don't need to worry. The Richardson Group is in my hands. Diana and I are in love, but due to some factors, we can't be together. I hope you can let us go."
Nolan didn't dare to speak, as Charles was on the verge of exploding.
But fortunately, Billy's special status meant that even in anger, Charles had to give the Richardson Group some face.
The next second, Charles swept everything off the table onto the floor.
Hearing the commotion, Abigail rushed in. "What's going on?"
But seeing the tense atmosphere, Abigail quietly retreated.
"Diana is pregnant with my kid. I can't let her be with someone else while carrying my kid." Charles stood up, leaning forward, with both hands on the table, looking like an angry lion, staring intently at Billy.
Billy wasn't intimidated and continued, "So, Mr. Percy, are you saying you want Diana to have your kid? Have you considered her wishes? Do you think a kid not wanted by its mother can be born?"
Billy's relentless questioning made Charles, usually calm, feel murderous rage.
Nolan quickly stepped forward, grabbed Billy's arm, and dragged him out, scolding, "Get out! How dare you speak to Mr. Percy like that!"
Billy didn't resist, letting Nolan take him out, leaving an enraged Charles alone in the office.
Once outside, Billy shook off Nolan's hand and said mockingly, "Tell Mr. Percy I won't give up on Diana. Constantly targeting the Richardson Group has cost you quite a bit, hasn't it?"
