Chapter 257 Delivering Food

The news that Diana was bringing lunch spread like wildfire through the Percy Group.

If it weren't for the fact that regular employees couldn't access the executive floor, the place would have been swarming with curious onlookers.

Diana had brought lunch before, but back then, Charles was so stubborn that he refused to eat a single bite and had everything thrown away.

But now, after their divorce, he was letting Diana bring him lunch.

Something was definitely off.

People whispered about Charles's odd behavior and began to see Diana in a new light.

Meanwhile, Diana made her way to the executive office with practiced ease.

Before she could enter, she bumped into Claire.

The last time they saw each other was at a party, and Diana was momentarily taken aback to see her here.

Claire was equally surprised, but her expression quickly turned stern as she asked, "Who let you in? Do you have an appointment?"

Diana shook the lunchbox in her hand and replied, "Charles asked me to bring him lunch."

"Mr. Percy asked you to bring lunch?" Claire's voice rose, dripping with disbelief. It was clear she thought Diana had snuck in and was ready to throw her out.

Diana paused, not really caring. If Claire kicked her out, it would save her the trouble. But Claire's voice sounded familiar.

Suddenly, a thought struck Diana, and she asked, "Did you go on a business trip with Charles recently?"

Claire hadn't expected the question. She remembered taking a call while in Celestria.

Diana wouldn't tell on her to Charles, would she?

Afraid her secret might be exposed, Claire's eyes darted around as she denied, "No, the project in Celestria is very important. Mr. Smith accompanied Mr. Percy."

Diana raised an eyebrow and drawled, "I didn't say where the trip was."

This confirmed for her that the woman who answered the phone was indeed Claire standing before her.

'Charles, that bastard, keeping his mistress around while still sleeping with me,' she seethed internally, feeling a wave of nausea rise within her.

Disgusted, Diana turned and walked away.

Claire was relieved to have gotten rid of her so easily.

But just then, Nolan came out of the office and saw Claire standing in the hallway. He asked, "Ms. Murphy, is there a problem?"

Claire shook her head, "No problem."

"Alright." Nolan responded casually, glancing towards the elevator before saying, "Ms. Spencer will be bringing lunch for Mr. Percy soon. If you see her, let her in."

He was about to leave with his files.

They had just finished a meeting, and he was hungry.

Today, Charles didn't need a pre-ordered lunch; he had the freedom to choose his own meal.

But as soon as Nolan spoke, Claire's face changed, "Mr. Smith, did Mr. Percy really ask Diana to bring lunch?"

"Yes, just let her in. Mr. Percy is waiting."

"But she just left. I thought she snuck in, so I sent her away."

Claire's expression turned awkward, her face changing rapidly. Who knew Charles would actually ask Diana to bring lunch?

What happened between them after that party? Their relationship seemed better than before.

Nolan's face darkened.

With Abigail on leave, only Claire was here.

He had arrived earlier than her and forgot to inform her, so she actually sent Diana away.

The next second, he handed the files to Claire and ran towards the elevator.

He prayed that Diana hadn't gone far.

Luckily, he caught up with her just before she got into her car. "Ms. Spencer!"

Nolan, out of breath, ignored the curious glances from other colleagues and bent over, hands on his knees, gasping for air.

"Mr. Percy finished his meeting and is waiting for you in his office."

Diana paused and replied, "Claire said no one asked me to come. Let Charles eat takeout. I'm leaving."

Nolan's heart raced as he quickly said, "No, Mr. Percy specifically asked for your cooking. Please go up quickly; you know how Mr. Percy can be."

'Who knows what crazy things he might do if he gets too hungry.' Nolan thought.

Diana rolled her eyes but resignedly closed her car door and followed him back upstairs.

This time, Claire didn't dare stop them. She turned away, pretending nothing had happened.

Charles was sitting on the sofa, talking to a guest. They had been chatting since the morning, and both were starving.

But Charles showed no intention of eating, so the guest endured the hunger.

As the knock sounded, Charles glanced at his watch, a subtle smile playing on his lips, and said, "Come in."

Diana, annoyed, walked in with the lunchbox, ignoring the other person in the office. She placed the lunchbox on the table and said, "Eat."

"Ms. Spencer?" The guest, who had his back to the door, turned around and was shocked to see Diana.

Diana turned her head and recognized Noah.

Thinking about how she ended up in this situation, Noah and Sabrina were partly to blame.

They had tricked her into attending a party where she met Charles.

Now, this encounter with Noah was clearly orchestrated by Charles.

Diana's face darkened, but she greeted coldly, "Mr. Glenn."

Charles, pleased with her reaction, smiled wider as he opened the lunchbox and said, "Sorry, Noah. She loves doing this. It's getting late, and you must be hungry. Want to try some?"

Noah's eyes darted between them before settling on the lunchbox.

Diana hadn't changed after cooking, and a faint smell of oil lingered on her.

It wasn't unpleasant, but it showed she had cooked the meal herself. After the birthday party, Noah had been uneasy. He liked Diana but couldn't afford to offend Charles.

Who would have thought the world was so small that he would run into Charles's ex-wife?

But Garry had said they were divorced and not on good terms.

Yet Charles kept him here, clearly to provoke him.

Maybe because of Garry, he was given some leeway.

Anyone else might have ended up like Billy.

Thinking of this, Noah didn't dare stay longer. He forced a smile and said, "I didn't realize you two were so close. It's getting late, so I'll take my leave."

He stood, bowed to Charles, and walked towards the door.

But after a few steps, he turned back and said, "Thank you, Mr. Percy and Ms. Spencer, for taking care of Sabrina. I'll bring her to thank you properly soon."

Charles looked up, his tone flat, "No need. Garry has helped me a lot. No need to be so formal."

Noah nodded hurriedly, quickening his steps as he made his exit.

Diana, who had held back earlier, now slapped the table, "What do you mean? You made it sound like it was my idea."

Charles remained calm, stirring the food with his utensils, and asked, "Did you poison it?"

Diana, thrown off by his question, replied darkly, "Yes, I put two pounds of rat poison in it for you."
