Chapter 363 Yeah, I'm Zachary's Son!
"Okay, I'm in Verdantis right now. All flights to the Rainbow Federation are grounded, so I'm stuck here. I'm really sorry, Sophia. It's all my fault. I should've kept a better eye on Benjamin."
Dean's mood darkened as he spoke, and the tall man slumped in the corner of the airport, tears streaming down his face.
After Tristan told him Benjamin was missing, Dean tried calling Benjamin multiple times but got no answer.
At that moment, he felt like his world was falling apart.
Now, with Diana comforting him, his emotions erupted completely, his voice breaking with sobs.
It sounded both pitiful and somewhat amusing.
Diana took a deep breath. Benjamin was her child, born after ten months of pregnancy, and she hadn't cried yet. Why was Dean crying?
"Alright, enough with the tears. Go find him! If anything happens to Benjamin, I'll chop you up and make soup!"
"Yes, yes!"
Dean quickly wiped his tears, pulled out his laptop, and started working.
Meanwhile, Diana hung up the phone and returned to her seat, looking anxious.
"Sorry, Brayden. I have something urgent to deal with and need to leave immediately. I'll make it up to you for this dinner next time."
She grabbed her coat and turned to leave, but Brayden stopped her.
Thinking he wanted her to stay, Diana felt even more irritated and tried to shake him off.
"I really have something important..."
Before she could finish, Brayden interrupted her, "If you need to go back, you won't be able to get a ticket now. I'll have my people take you back. I have a private jet here."
His voice was calm and firm, leaving no room for refusal.
It surprisingly soothed Diana's anxious heart.
She didn't hesitate and thanked him immediately, "Thank you."
"Diana, there's no need for thanks between us." He repeated.
That night at eight, Diana boarded the plane to the Rainbow Federation.
Brayden was surprised she was heading to the Rainbow Federation but didn't ask further, only reminding her to contact him if she needed anything.
As the plane ascended, the world outside the window turned pitch black. Despite her earlier exhaustion, Diana found herself feeling tense and alert.
Rainbow Federation, was she destined to return there?
The Percy Mansion.
A Maybach slowly drove in and stopped smoothly at the steps of the main building.
Jacob came out of the living room to greet them.
Seeing Charles get out of the car, he smiled, "Mr. Percy, you're back. Have you had dinner? Should I have the chef..."
Before he could finish, another person got out of the car.
Jacob saw the figure behind Charles and paused, unsure, "Benjamin?"
"Mr. Hearst." Benjamin forced a smile, clearly not in a good mood but still polite.
They had sent him away earlier in the day, and now they were meeting again.
Jacob was somewhat surprised, "Is it really you? How did you come back with Mr. Percy? Where's your uncle?"
Benjamin didn't respond, just looked up at Charles, his face pale.
Jacob followed his gaze to Charles.
Charles' expression was cold as he spoke, "Prepare a room for him. He'll be staying here for a while."
"Staying for a while? What's happened?" Jacob was even more surprised.
'Did something happen to his family? But since when was Charles so kind-hearted to let a stranger's kid stay at his place?' he thought.
"He's Zachary's kid," Charles said calmly, dropping the bombshell.
Jacob's mind was spinning from the series of shocking revelations. He could only look at Benjamin for confirmation.
Benjamin rolled his eyes at Charles' words and then nodded angrily, "Yeah, I'm Zachary's son!"
'Stupid Charles, you can't even recognize your own son. Don't blame me for calling someone else Dad then!'
Jacob was stunned, speechless.
Charles heard Benjamin's loud confirmation, his eyes darkened, and his aura grew colder.
Ignoring their reactions, he went straight into the house.
Benjamin looked at the stunned Jacob and shook his arm, "Mr. Hearst, snap out of it. How long are we going to stand here?"
Jacob snapped back to reality, quickly hiding his surprise and forcing a smile, "I'll have the servants prepare a room for you right away."
Benjamin smiled at him, showing his neat rows of teeth.
Soon, they entered the house, and the servants quickly prepared a room for Benjamin upstairs. This time, his room was much closer to Charles's.
Jacob brought him pajamas, the same set he wore yesterday.
"Benjamin, wear this for now. Tomorrow morning, I'll have the servants buy new ones. We don't have children's sizes here, so you'll have to make do for tonight."
Benjamin nodded, not caring much about these things. Right now, he wanted to be alone so he could send a message to Dean.
"Mr. Hearst, I need to take a bath. Can you leave?"
"Alright, do you need help?"
"No, I'm a big kid. I can do it myself." Benjamin quickly refused.
Jacob saw his shyness and left the room with a smile.
Once Jacob was gone, Benjamin locked the door. He climbed onto the bed and opened his watch.
He hadn't had a chance to check it all day, and countless call records popped up. Besides Dean's, there were also Diana's.
Benjamin felt a pang of anxiety. Oh no, Tristan must have told Dean, who then told Diana. What should he do?
Diana hated the Rainbow Federation. If she found out he was with Charles, she'd feel betrayed, right?
Benjamin felt uneasy and decided to send Dean a message first to test the waters.
Benjamin: [Dean, I'm okay. I'm at The Percy Mansion.]
Two seconds after he sent the message, Dean's video call popped up. Benjamin quickly fixed his hair, put on a cute smile, and answered the call.
"Dean!" As soon as he spoke, Dean's angry roar filled the screen, startling Benjamin.
"Benjamin, if you went out, then don't bother coming back! Go be someone else's kid. You love running around so much, your mommy and I don't want you anymore!"
In the video, Dean's hair was messy, stubble had grown in the short time, and his eyes were bloodshot, clearly showing his desperation.
Benjamin's sense of grievance exploded instantly. Afraid of making any noise, he buried his face in the blanket and started crying.
Dean's anger was shattered by his sobs, replaced by concern and worry.
For a moment, both of them cried across the screen.
Dean wiped his tears and sternly said, "Benjamin, stop crying! You'll suffocate, and I'll worry even more! You caused trouble, and you still have the nerve to cry!"
