Chapter 359 Grandmother

The room went dead quiet after those words were spoken.

Clifton, who had been so cocky just a moment ago, now wished he could disappear under the table.

His earlier outburst was driven by Elise's promise that if he could get Charles to go to Horizonia, she'd promote him within the Percy Group.

He had thought Zachary might not actually be dead, and Elise's push to send Charles to Horizonia had to be part of some plan.

But now, Zachary was really dead. What could Elise possibly do to fight Charles now?

Compared to the internal struggles of the Percy family, Clifton's own wealth and status were more important. Without much hesitation, he raised both hands in agreement.

"Mr. Percy, you're absolutely right. We need to get the media under control right now."

Everyone else, despite their disdain for his sudden change in attitude, followed suit.

"Yeah, Mr. Percy's right."

Half an hour later, the shareholders left the conference room.

They had come in aggressive, but now they were subdued, heads down, eager to leave the company.

Soon, the large conference room was empty except for Charles.

Nolan returned, looking slightly grave.

"What is it?" Charles glanced at him and asked.

"There are two things," Nolan replied. "First, the kid you asked me to investigate. After he left with his uncle, there was an incident at the airport. Benjamin is missing."

Charles paused, his eyes narrowing.

He had someone watching Benjamin, but he didn't expect him to go to the airport right after leaving the villa. Where was he planning to go?

And why did he disappear?

One mystery after another surfaced. Charles tapped his fingers on the table.

"Go on."

"The other thing is, we got news from Horizonia. Zachary, while abroad..."

Nolan hesitated, choosing his words carefully.

"He has a child."

"A child?" Charles' expression turned cold.

Zachary had been under surveillance abroad. How could he have a child under such circumstances?

Nolan knew this was due to his subordinates' incompetence, so he explained, "The child is with a waitress. It happened five years ago when he was drunk."

He added, "The waitress was afraid of retaliation and ran away. Zachary only found out recently that she had his child."

"Boy or girl?"

"A boy," Nolan said. "We sent people to find the mother and child, but we couldn't locate them."

After Nolan finished, Charles frowned, piecing the information together. A suspicion formed in his mind.

"Nolan, do you think it's possible that Benjamin is Zachary's child?"

Nolan hesitated before speaking, "I had the same thought. Benjamin's age and appearance match. And he disappeared at the airport. It's very likely..."

"He's with Elise," Charles finished for him.

His eyes darkened.

At first, everyone thought Benjamin looked like him, but they overlooked that Zachary also carried the Percy family blood.

The image of Benjamin sweetly calling him "Mr. Percy" flashed in his mind, leaving him with a strange feeling.

"Go check Elise's place. We'll know then."

Charles had barely finished speaking when Nolan understood. "Mr. Percy, you mean..."

"If Benjamin is there, it means our suspicion is correct. Get the car ready."

"Yes, Mr. Percy."

At the Percy Manor, Elise stood with her arms crossed, frowning at the sleeping Benjamin on the bed.

A man wearing a baseball cap stood respectfully beside her. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that he was the one who had kidnapped Benjamin.

Benjamin's mind was foggy. He remembered being kidnapped.

It was his first time being kidnapped, but who had done it?

His eyelids felt heavy, and his head was spinning.

He couldn't help but let out a groan.

Voices reached his ears.

A woman spoke first, her tone worried.

"Are you sure the drug won't have any side effects? Why isn't he waking up?"

A man's voice responded, "Don't worry, Mrs. Percy. There won't be any problems. The kid's young and has a low tolerance for the drug, so he's sleeping longer. He should wake up soon."

As if to confirm his words, Benjamin's eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw was the white canopy of the bed, the color too bright, making him turn away and rub his eyes.

"Mrs. Percy, he's awake."

The man noticed and immediately informed her.

Elise turned, meeting Benjamin's gaze.

Benjamin froze, his eyes filled with resistance.

"Who are you?"

He quickly sat up, looking around in panic.

"Where am I? You kidnapped me!"

Elise was startled by his strong reaction and quickly tried to calm him.

"It's not like that. Listen to me."

Benjamin shrank into the corner of the bed, glaring at her like a frightened, bristling little animal.

"I'm your grandmother. Don't you recognize me?"

Elise opened her arms, giving him a kind smile.

She was well-maintained, without a single gray hair, not looking like a grandmother at all.

Benjamin's mind raced, trying to connect the idea of a grandmother to himself.

After a moment, he remembered.

'Grandmother is Dad's mommy. My dad is Charles, so this person in front of me must be Charles' mommy?'

They didn't look alike at all! They could pass for siblings. What a liar, saying anything to kidnap him.

"Impossible! I don't have a dad or a grandmother!"

Benjamin was furious, showing no respect.

Elise hadn't expected him to be so difficult. Her outstretched arms awkwardly retracted.

The man behind her stepped forward, speaking respectfully, "This is indeed your grandmother."

"You say you don't have a dad, but your mom ran away with you when you were young. Your father's name is Zachary. You should actually have the last name Percy."

His words were a bit complex for a child, but Benjamin understood.

They were giving him a new dad?

His face tightened, frowning.

"What does Charles have to do with you?"

"That bastard!" Elise's temper flared at the mention of Charles, cursing.

But realizing Benjamin was young, she quickly composed herself, forcing a smile.

"He's your dad's half-brother, but you don't need to worry about him. He's just a bad person."

However, this time she had to thank Charles.

If it weren't for her informant at The Percy Mansion spotting Benjamin, she wouldn't have been able to bring Benjamin here before he returned to his mother.

"I don't care about any of this. I want to go home."

Benjamin roughly guessed she had mistaken his identity. But she clearly had a grudge against Charles.

Staying out of this was the best option.

'Tristan, Dean, please come save me!' he prayed silently in his heart.
