Chapter 460 Accompany

Finally, Charles let go of her hand and stepped back a bit, giving her some space.

He pointed to his lips again, signaling that she could start.

Diana had rarely initiated kisses with Charles, especially since just the sight of him made her want to bite him rather than kiss him.

Turning her urge to bite into a romantic kiss always made her feel uncomfortable.

But now her lips were swollen from resisting, a price she had to pay.

If she had known it would come to this, she would have just given him a quick peck earlier.

Diana took a deep breath, her expression determined as if she were about to dismantle a terrorist organization. She quickly leaned in and gave Charles a peck on the lips.

She pulled away just as quickly, but the kiss made a loud sound. Hearing it, her face flushed, and she realized she had actually kissed him on her own.

Beside her, Charles touched the spot where she had kissed him, his eyes softening.

Then Diana heard him say, "We should have a goodnight kiss like this every day, and a good morning kiss too. Couples should be more intimate."

With that, he stretched out his long arms and pulled Diana into his embrace, resting his chin on her forehead.

She could feel the vibrations in his chest as he spoke, "Let's sleep. Goodnight."

This time, Diana didn't struggle. After all, the result of struggling was always the same.

They had napped together in the afternoon, so this wasn't uncomfortable for her. She even found herself absentmindedly playing with the hem of Charles' pajamas.

The sounds of crickets chirping and occasional bird calls from outside the window made her drowsy.

Diana blinked a few times before slowly closing her eyes. They both slept soundly.

The next morning, Diana was shaken awake.

She had been sleeping soundly, so being woken up suddenly made her a bit grumpy.

She frowned and opened her eyes to see Charles, fully dressed, standing by the bed. His large hand, the culprit, was resting on her shoulder.

Seeing her awake, Charles smiled slightly, "Good morning."

Diana slapped his hand away and grumpily pulled the blanket over herself, rolling to the other side of the bed.

Her internal clock told her it was still very early.

Charles didn't get angry when she pushed him away. Instead, he crossed his arms and raised his voice, "I have to go to the office. If you don't get up now, you won't be able to go out today."

As soon as he finished speaking, Diana finally moved. She sat up abruptly, her hair a bit messy, and squinted at him without saying a word.

But her eyes showed a hint of resentment.

Diana scratched her cheek and got out of bed, bumping into Charles on her way to the bathroom.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom as Charles stood by the door, checking his watch while waiting for her to come out.

About twenty minutes later, Diana emerged, looking much more awake and tidy.

Seeing Charles at the door startled her, and she muttered, "You scared me, standing there so quietly."

Charles stepped in front of her, raising an eyebrow as he looked her up and down.

Diana found it odd and was about to walk around him when he bent down and quickly kissed the corner of her lips.

She was stunned, unable to react.

Then Charles leaned in again and whispered, "Remember what I said last night..."

Diana's still-groggy brain took a moment to recall what he was talking about.

She weighed the pros and cons. If she refused, he would probably hold her and be all clingy for a while. It was better to just go along with it and get it over with quickly.

Diana mimicked Charles and kissed the corner of his lips, then stepped back with a serious expression, "Alright, what's next?"

Seeing her change in attitude, Charles was in a good mood, his tone much gentler, "Get dressed, have breakfast, and head to the office."

It didn't sound like anything special.

Diana nodded. It was her first time following Charles' routine.

They had breakfast downstairs, where the servants had prepared it and then respectfully left the dining room to the two of them.

Breakfast was simple, just sandwiches and fried eggs.

Charles ate with elegant movements, but at a slower pace than Diana.

So when Diana finished her sandwich and was full, she had time to watch him eat.

She propped her chin on her hand, watching Charles' cheeks move as he chewed, and suddenly thought of a goat eating grass.

She couldn't help but laugh, catching his attention.

Diana quickly waved her hand, "It's nothing, you keep eating."

Charles remained calm, ignoring the little interruption, but Diana couldn't help but ask out of curiosity, "You're the big boss now, why do you still go to work every day?"

When she managed the Spencer Group, she wasn't this diligent.

Charles finished his last bite of sandwich and took a sip of coffee, "If I were idle, anyone in the Percy family could replace me."

As a family business, by the time the Percy family reached Charles' generation, blood ties were already quite diluted.

If he weren't capable enough, he wouldn't even have the chance to be a parasite in the company.

Zachary had Elise's support, but Charles could only rely on himself.

"Let's go to the office."

Diana blinked and nodded, following him.

Outside the villa, a car was already waiting at the door.

The driver, wearing sunglasses and looking serious, seemed like one of those men in black.

He opened the back door for them, and once they were inside, the car slowly drove out of the villa area.

At the Percy Group Building.

Claire was chatting with Abigail.

Charles hadn't come to the office yesterday, leaving a lot of work to be done.

He had left in such a hurry that Claire was curious if something had happened.

Usually, only Nolan knew about Charles' affairs, and since Nolan was close to Abigail, Claire hoped to get some information from her.

"Is Mr. Percy very busy lately? Do you know if he'll be in the office today?"

Abigail was doing her nails and looked up lazily, "I don't know, but he has been quite busy recently. Nolan is still dealing with the White Group, and there are a lot of meetings to attend."

Claire knew about the two things Abigail mentioned. She pursed her lips and, after a few polite responses, stopped asking.

A while later, Nolan came over with a briefcase.

As he sat down, Abigail asked, "Nolan, will Mr. Percy be in today? I have a few contracts that need his signature."

Nolan had received the news that morning. He checked the time and nodded, "Leave them on my desk, and I'll take them in. Mr. Percy should be here soon."

As they were discussing work, Claire, who was sitting at her computer, suddenly slapped the table.

The noise caught their attention.

Claire was staring at her screen, eyes wide with disbelief.

"Hey, you guys need to check this out!"
