Chapter 485 Secret

After speaking, Claire watched Stella's expression and saw that she was indeed moved.

Claire glanced around and suggested, "How about we go somewhere else and have a proper chat?"

"Miss, please leave now. If you don't cooperate, I'll have to take special measures," the butler said, following Stella's orders. He reached out again to escort Claire out.

But then Stella spoke up, "Let's go to the tea room."

Though her expression didn't change much, her brows furrowed slightly, showing she was interested in the news Claire brought.

Claire raised an eyebrow at the butler and lifted her chin, "Ms. White has spoken. Aren't you going to lead the way?"

"Yes," the butler replied.

The tea room was just to the right of the living room, usually used by Oliver to entertain guests. Today, it was Stella's turn to use it.

The butler dutifully prepared tea and brought snacks for the two, then closed the door, leaving the tea room to them.

Stella, still on guard, watched Claire leisurely sipping tea and couldn't help but sarcastically remark, "I didn't bring you here to enjoy tea. Speak up."

In negotiations, the calmer person always has the upper hand.

Claire wasn't angered by her rudeness; instead, she smiled slightly, "Ms. White, to be honest, I've always disliked you."

"Likewise, don't think I can't see your intentions towards Charles," Stella retorted without hesitation, the tension in her heart easing.

"I've known Charles since college, it's been ten years. I even traveled miles to work at his company for him. Then you suddenly appeared and became his fiancée. Shouldn't I hate you?" Claire continued, these words had been buried in her heart for a long time. All the hatred and resentment poured out at this moment, and she felt quite relieved.

Stella shattered her illusions, "Knowing him for a long time doesn't mean anything. You've been a secretary all these years, and Charles doesn't even notice you."

This hit Claire's sore spot. She paused, stopped pretending to smile, and mocked, "Yeah, no matter what, I'm better than you. You became his fiancée and still got dumped, even seeing him became a luxury. Now everyone knows Charles despises you. How does it feel to be a stray dog?"

"You!" Stella, furious, raised her hand to slap her. Claire was so bold, coming to her house to cause trouble, she must be tired of living. No matter how much she failed, it wasn't Claire's place to say!

However, Claire was prepared for her to make a move. She quickly grabbed her arm and pushed her back into the chair.

"Alright, Ms. White, we've argued enough. Let's get to the point. The woman we both hate, you should know, even though I don't like you. But the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Do you understand?"

Stella's chest heaved, and she thought of that annoying face, suddenly realizing, "You're talking about Diana?"

"So you know her? Seems her return wasn't kept secret at all," Claire smiled and continued, "So, will you cooperate with me? I know much more about Diana than you do."

Stella stared at her, comparing Claire and Diana in her mind.

Soon, she questioned, "Why would you help me?"

Claire found her question amusing, just as dumb as Clara. "Help you? I'm not helping you. I'm helping myself. Even if I can't have Charles, Diana won't get him either. Once we take her down, our competition will begin. Understand?"

Stella pondered her words. She disliked both women, but Claire's failure to get Charles gave her some comfort. So if she had to choose, she'd choose Claire.

As for the so-called fair competition later, Stella didn't take it seriously. She was younger, prettier, and had been Charles's girlfriend. If Diana hadn't returned, she would have had a chance to become Charles's wife. Claire wasn't really her competitor.

Thus, the two women, each with their own thoughts, reached an agreement at this moment.

"I can cooperate with you, but what's the news you brought?" Stella asked, her skepticism evident.

If Claire was just using her, their cooperation would end here. However, Claire didn't directly answer her question but asked instead, "How much do you know about Diana? Tell me what you've found, and I'll fill in the gaps."

Stella was half-convinced. She hadn't found much about Diana, especially the relationship between her and Charles was very unclear.

"Her family background is ordinary, her father is in prison, her mother passed away. She seems to have a stepmother and a sister, all missing," Stella recalled the information as she spoke. "She was married to Charles for two years, made a lot of jokes during those two years, a foolish woman. But after the divorce, she suddenly got smart. Not long after, she died in a sea accident. The rest is untraceable, seems deliberately blocked."

As Stella spoke, she felt very contemptuous. She couldn't understand why such a scandalous woman could be remembered by Charles for five years.

Claire naturally saw her thoughts and added the details she didn't know, "Her father is a scumbag, sent to prison by her own hands. As for her sister, when she jumped into the sea, it was her sister who pushed her. But they both fell, her sister died, but she survived."

At this, Claire smiled, looking particularly frightening. "Do you know? She and Charles have a child."

"What? A child!" Stella's voice rose, this really touched her blind spot.

So Charles and Diana were entangled because of the child! No wonder, she couldn't figure it out, but if Diana found out she was pregnant after the divorce, and Charles wanted the child, naturally, they would have contact. Scheming! Diana was too scheming.

"Where's the child? Dead?" This question was both inquiry and curse.

Claire shook her head under her expectant gaze, smiling mysteriously, "The child is still alive, you've seen him."

"I've seen him?" Stella's mind raced, searching for such a child in her memory.

Soon, that delicate, cute face surfaced, and she couldn't accept the reality. Her hands trembled as she picked up the teacup, took a sip, and then spoke, "Is it the little boy at the Percy Mansion now?"

"Ms. White is very smart," Claire said, seeing her more shocked than she had been, and laughed genuinely.

"How could it be him? Charles clearly said he was his brother's child," Stella murmured, lost in thought.
