Chapter 201 Confession

"Hold on a sec, I'll get ready."

Dean got up and made sure all the doors and windows were locked tight.

He pulled out a voice recorder, turned it on, and set it by the receiver.

Once everything was set, he finally said, "Alright, go ahead."

But Diana's first words nearly knocked him off his feet.

"I'm already dead, Dean. The funeral you went to was real; my body is buried."

"What?" Dean stammered, "Then who am I talking to? Who am I helping? Sophia, is that you?"

The 6'4" Dean couldn't help but shiver, even in broad daylight. "Sophia, don't mess with me."

Diana paused and explained, "I know it sounds crazy, but Sophia is really dead. My soul is in someone else's body. I haven't been on a mission; I've been trying to find a way out."

Dean's mind was racing, and he asked the key question, "Whose body are you in? Is that person dead?"

Diana replied, "I'm in a body named Diana Spencer. She was already dead, but her soul had some unfinished business. I have to fulfill her wishes to fully take over this body."

"Diana Spencer? So who are you now?" Dean's face was serious. This supernatural stuff was hard to swallow.

He thought, 'What does it mean to be dead but the soul is still alive? Is this some kind of resurrection?'

But on the other end of the line, Diana's tone was calm, "I'm your boss. Do you really want me dead that badly? I'll hang up."

The tone and style were just like Sophia's. Dead or not, even if she was a ghost, he'd follow her.

Thinking of this, Dean quickly said, "Wait! Sophia, I'm sorry. You said you wanted to come back; how can I help? Should I get some people to pick you up from the Rainbow Federation?"

Diana shook her head. Things weren't that simple. If it were possible to just take her away, would she still be stuck by Charles' side?

She sighed, "It's not that simple. Diana's connections are complicated, and I've pissed off a really tough guy."

Dean frowned, "Who? How powerful?"

"Charles." Diana spat out the name, her teeth gritted.

"Him?" Dean's voice rose. He should've guessed it!

In the stuff he helped Diana with before, Charles's name came up a lot. He thought it was just mission-related, but there was more to it.

Charles, a guy who controlled both the Underworld and the Authorities, was famous worldwide.

Diana had really picked a fight with the wrong person this time.

Dean felt a bit stuck, but then he remembered a job on the Dark Web recently, and his eyes lit up. "Sophia, should I try to take him out?"

Diana raised an eyebrow. Clearly, Dean didn't get what kind of person Charles was.

"He's not just anyone. Don't do anything. If you get involved, I'm screwed."

Dean snapped back to reality and got serious, "Okay, Sophia, I'll listen to you. After I deal with Grant and the others, I'll come find you."

"Okay." Diana's tone lightened up. She and Dean were like family. Finally, she had someone to share her feelings with after being reborn.

But thinking of Grant and Hestia's sneaky ways, Diana still warned, "You're alone in the alliance; be careful."

Before they could say more, Kennedy's voice came from behind, "Diana, it's cold outside; come back in."

As her voice faded, the kids who had finished their snacks also shouted, "Diana, come back!"

Hearing that, Diana quickly hung up, put away her phone, and with a big smile, said, "I'm coming back."

As Diana walked back into the living room, a bunch of kids swarmed around her. One little girl with pigtails asked in a sweet voice, "Diana, are you gonna stay with us?"

Diana nodded, squatted down, and said softly, "Yep, I'm a bit scared of the cold. Can I sleep with you?"

The little girl hesitated, biting her finger, "But my bed is really small."

Diana chuckled at her serious expression, patted her hair, stood up, and said to Evelyn and Kennedy, "Let's teach the kids to read these days. I think Willow and Ridge are old enough to start school."

Kennedy, who had just heard from Evelyn about Diana's sponsorship, beamed with joy and nodded eagerly, "Yeah, the kids should definitely go to school."

But the two bodyguards nearby looked uneasy when they heard they were staying for a couple of days.

One of them stepped up behind Diana and whispered, "Ms. Spencer, the conditions here aren't suitable for you. How about we book a nearby hotel and come over whenever you need?"

"What's wrong with it? It's clean and tidy here," Diana replied, her expression unchanged. "If you don't want to stay, you can go to the hotel. I've already talked to Jacob."

Since Diana insisted on staying, the bodyguards had no choice but to stay too, even if it meant sleeping on the floor. They couldn't argue since she had already spoken to Jacob.

At the auction site in the country of Celestria.

Nolan and Claire walked in just as the auction was starting. Once seated, Nolan focused on waiting for the necklace called "Eternal" to come up.

Claire glanced at the auction items, none of which caught her interest, but she still bid on a few things to keep up appearances.

As the items were auctioned off one by one, the final piece was finally presented.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your patience. Now, I am honored to introduce the final item—Eternal..."

As the auctioneer spoke, the lights in the venue gradually dimmed, leaving only a spotlight on the necklace.

For a moment, the sapphire emitted a brilliant light, and the butterfly seemed to come to life, ready to take flight.

The auctioneer quickly finished introducing the "Eternal" necklace, and the lights came back on. It was time for bidding.

Claire, who had been indifferent, was captivated by the beautiful necklace and raised her paddle once.

But it was clear that many people wanted to bid on "Eternal" today.

When the bid reached forty million dollars, Claire reluctantly gave up. The Murphy family was rich, but not rich enough to drop tens of millions on a necklace.

"Forty million dollars! Any higher bids? Forty million dollars once!" The auctioneer looked around.

Although the "Eternal" necklace was stunning, it was already worth the price. There were many sapphire necklaces with better designs. After a moment of silence, no one raised their paddle.

Just as the auctioneer was about to call for the second time, Nolan, who had been silent, suddenly raised his paddle and said, "Fifty million dollars."

The auctioneer's eyes quickly locked onto him, a joyful smile spreading across his face.

"Alright, this gentleman bids fifty million dollars. Any higher bids?"

Claire looked at Nolan in shock. Why did he suddenly bid?

Could it be that Charles asked him to bid on this necklace?

She couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Smith, is this necklace for...?"

Nolan, focused on the necklace, replied calmly, "Mr. Percy asked me to bid on it."

"Fifty million dollars once! Fifty million dollars twice!" The auctioneer's voice was excited. The necklace was about to be sold.

At that moment, a gentle male voice suddenly came from the corner, "Sixty million dollars."
