Chapter 471 Help
Benjamin blinked, completely unaware of how shocking his actions were.
"Isn't this basic stuff? Anyone who knows how to use a computer should know this, right?"
He had been exposed to coding since he was a child, learning from the people in the league, with Diana and Dean giving him private lessons.
You could say that Benjamin's current level was half due to talent and half due to hard work.
What he had just done was simply transferring some data, as easy as eating or drinking water for him.
What was there to be so surprised about?
Soon, the progress bar on the computer screen reached 100%, and a completion notification sounded.
The intern looked at the restored data files, still in a daze. He was a graduate student from a top university in the country, yet he couldn't even compare to a kid. It was enough to drive anyone crazy.
But he quickly saved the data and gratefully thanked Benjamin, "Thanks, kid. You really saved my bacon."
"No need to thank me. Mr. Bailey brought me here. If you want to thank someone, thank him."
Benjamin passed the credit to Frank.
The intern, being perceptive, quickly thanked his superior.
The originally unpleasant episode was turned around by Benjamin, and the others in the office looked at him with admiration.
Frank, who had brought him here, initially regretted it after seeing Isolde's reaction, but now it seemed like a fortunate accident.
Just as the atmosphere was becoming harmonious, a sharp alarm sounded from another office. A black-haired man with glasses rushed out, looking tense, his hair a mess, and dark circles under his eyes. He looked more like a street bum than an elite professional.
Seeing so many people at the door, he paused for a moment, remembering that there was supposed to be a tour today, but that was the least of his concerns now.
He shouted at the man standing next to Frank, "They're at it again. I can't handle it anymore. You need to come and take a look."
Typically, the person next to the boss during inspections is a key leader in the team. This leader, seeing his subordinate rush out so recklessly, was initially annoyed, but upon hearing his words, he immediately left Frank and the others and rushed into the office.
Frank frowned. Today was turning into one problem after another. He had wanted to show Isolde the reliability of the Bailey Group's team, but what was happening now?
With a more serious expression, he followed them in silence. Isolde, seeing this, decided to follow as well, curious about the unfolding drama.
Benjamin glanced at the sign on the door and realized it was the control room. The room was already crowded, and being small and short, he could only see a little from the doorway.
Inside, the leader's sharp, stern voice could be heard, "Find out where the breach is and fix it immediately."
The control room was filled with the sound of alarms from dozens of computers, their screens flashing red with error messages. Everyone's faces were grave as they quickly typed on their keyboards.
The intern who had fallen earlier stood next to Benjamin and sighed. Like Benjamin, he wasn't allowed inside, and even if he were, he wouldn't be able to help.
"Hey, what's going on?" Benjamin tugged at his sleeve and asked softly.
But before the intern could answer, Benjamin continued, "Is this what they call a hacker attack? That's so cool."
Benjamin's eyes sparkled with excitement, completely unaffected by the adults' tense atmosphere. Instead, he was thrilled, wondering if these hackers were better than Dean.
The intern, seeing his expression, couldn't help but sigh. Kids will be kids.
"Yeah, it's just like you guessed, kid. But you should leave. It's too chaotic here. I need to go help."
"But sir, you don't even know how to handle a chip. Can you really fight off hackers?"
Benjamin's blunt words hit the intern hard. His face reddened, and he scratched the back of his head.
"Don't worry about it. It's none of your business anyway."
Seeing the intern's reaction, Benjamin knew he was right. He grinned mischievously, showing his small tiger teeth, and motioned for the intern to come closer.
The intern, though suspicious, bent down to listen. After hearing Benjamin's plan, his eyes widened in disbelief.
"Kid, you must be joking. How could that be possible?"
"Why not? You guys can't handle it anyway. Let me give it a try."
With that, Benjamin squeezed into the room, glancing at the nearest computer screen. The chaotic code continued to scroll, the warning sounds blending with the clatter of keyboards, assaulting his ears.
While the intern was still processing, Benjamin stepped out and continued, "The hackers have already breached your outer security system. If you don't fix the loophole soon, your firewall will be breached in five minutes. Then, they can take whatever data they want from you."
His childish voice, though innocent, was a stark reminder of the gravity of the situation.
"One minute has passed! What's going on?" The leader's angry shout came from inside. He didn't even care that Frank was present, indicating the severity of the situation.
"They're too hidden. We can't track them."
"It's bad! The hackers have breached our second line of defense."
Sweat beaded on the staff's foreheads as they worked frantically, but no matter how they patched things up, the hackers always broke through at the last moment, as if taunting them.
Especially with their boss and the client right there, it was like a nightmare.
The intern looked at the busy crowd, then at Benjamin, and finally took a deep breath, crouching down.
"I believe in you. Please help us."
Benjamin smiled, patting the intern's head like he would Snowy, "Don't worry."
The intern had his own motives. He had been placed here through family connections, and most of his colleagues looked down on him. If he could step up and solve this problem, maybe they would change their opinion of him.
Time ticked by, and the tension in the control room was palpable. Sweat dripped onto the keyboards.
"The hackers have breached the internal firewall," someone reported. "If we can't stop them soon, they might..."
The person didn't finish, but everyone knew the consequences of failing to intercept the hackers.
Everyone's faces were grim. Two years of work, countless sleepless nights, all at risk of being stolen. The thought of it made them desperate to stop the hackers, but they were helpless.
Frank's face was dark with anger. He had just assured Isolde that everything would be fine, but reality was proving him wrong.
"Mr. Bailey, maybe I should leave. I can't help here anyway," Isolde said with a smile, though she had already made up her mind.
