Chapter 73 Catching Charles

Diana was still on the fence about having the baby, but she had to turn Billy down, so she nodded. "Yeah, this is my kid, and I can take care of them. Mr. Richardson, if you want to be with me, there's a lot to think about."

Billy got lost in his thoughts, 'This baby was a surprise for me. But Diana's right; it's her kid too. If I love her, I gotta love all of her, right?'

While Billy was zoning out, Diana and Isolde exchanged a look and started eating. The food at Spice Haven Bistro was top-notch, and the service was super personalized. There weren't big crowds, and the vibe was great—no wonder Isolde liked it.

They ate for about ten minutes, noticing Billy was still spaced out. Diana wiped her mouth and called out, "Billy? Mr. Richardson!"

When Billy snapped back, Diana went on, "Thanks for liking me. My situation is pretty complex right now. You've got a lot going for you; you should find someone more suitable." She reached for some food, but Billy grabbed her hand.

Billy's expression turned serious as he looked her in the eye and said, "I've made up my mind."

Isolde sighed, thinking, 'Yep, there's no way a man could accept the woman he loves having another man's child.'

Billy said, "I'm willing. I can be the kid's dad. You know the Richardson family's got good conditions; I can give them a better future."

Now Diana and Isolde were the ones shocked. Diana quickly searched through the old Diana's memories but couldn't find any special connection with Billy.

Seeing her stunned, Billy let go of her hand. He served her a bowl of soup and placed it in front of her, looking serious. "You should drink more soup since you're pregnant; it's good for you."

Diana and Isolde were even more dumbfounded. 'How is Billy so naturally stepping into the dad role?'

Diana snapped back, speaking quickly, "I've been divorced and I'm pregnant with my ex-husband's child. Can you accept that?"

Billy nodded. "Yeah, so what if you're divorced with a kid?"

"Really? Don't guys prefer women who haven't been with anyone before? The pure and pretty ones?" Isolde said bluntly.

Billy frowned, puzzled. "Ms. Porter, you're a woman too. How can you say that? Isn't divorce normal? How can you judge a woman's worth based on that?"

Isolde was left speechless, stuffing food into her mouth in confusion. Billy, feeling a bit embarrassed for what he had said, and then lowered his voice, continuing, "But I also hope we can have our own kid. Then he can inherit the company, and this kid can just enjoy life."

Diana was silent for a long time. She hadn't even agreed to marry him yet, and he was already thinking about a second kid. She needed time to process this.

"You..." Diana stammered, not knowing how to respond. Suddenly, Billy's phone rang. He frowned, clearly annoyed. 'Who would interrupt such an important moment?' But when he saw the name, his expression changed. He apologized and stepped outside to take the call.

Seeing Billy leave, the two finally breathed a sigh of relief. Isolde, a bit excited, wanted to shake Diana but remembered she was pregnant. She clenched her fists and pounded the sofa twice to calm down. "Diana, be honest, is this kid really Charles's? You didn't accidentally sleep with Billy, did you?"

Diana denied it flatly, "No way! It's definitely Charles'. I used to love him a lot; how could I have slept with another man?"

Isolde didn't doubt Diana, but Billy's behavior was just too weird. She couldn't figure it out, so she probed Diana. "He's something else. What kind of magic did you use on him? He's okay with your ex-husband's kid and didn't even suggest an abortion. Honestly, if I were him, I couldn't handle it." Isolde gave a thumbs up, genuinely impressed with Billy.

Diana shook her head. "He said he fell in love with me at first sight in high school, but I barely remember him."

Isolde teased, "Ah, young love." Then, getting serious, she added, "But if he's really reliable, having this baby might not be so bad. The kid would have a dad from the start, and no one would know he's Charles's."

Diana stayed quiet, not answering. As they talked, Billy came back in, looking apologetic. "Sorry, something came up, and I need to go. You two enjoy your meal; I'll cover the bill."

Diana visibly relaxed, happy that she didn't have to worry about it anymore. But as Billy was about to leave, he paused at the door with his phone, looking like he had something to say.

Isolde asked, "What's up?"

Billy glanced at Diana and said, "Can I get your contact info?"

"Oh, just Diana's, huh?" Isolde teased.

Billy's face blushed as he quickly added, "Both of you, both of you!"

Seeing Diana didn't resist, Isolde took her phone and added Billy's contact as well. After he left, Isolde said, "No matter what happens between you two, the Richardson Family is a valuable connection; don't lose it."

Diana glanced at her phone. Billy's profile picture was a smiling Samoyed, which kind of looked like him. Next to her, Isolde was still scrolling through his social media and relaying it to Diana. "His posts are pretty good—fitness, travel, reading, work. It's almost too perfect; something feels off."

Diana ignored the comments and handed Isolde a piece of meat, changing the subject. "This is good, have some more."

Isolde got the hint and put down her phone, focusing on eating.

Meanwhile, the Williams Villa was in chaos. Clara had wanted to talk more with Charles, but after he got into Nolan's car, he left her on the roadside.

Clara didn't want to go back to the office, so she stormed back home. Upon entering, she found Mia blissfully arranging flowers with the servants. Clara's anger flared up even more as she thought, 'At a time like this, she's still in the mood for this?'

Mia raised her hand to greet Clara, but Clara, in a fit of rage, cleared the table. Vases and floral arrangements crashed to the floor, shattering and nearly cutting Mia's feet. The servants screamed and huddled together, clueless about what was happening.

Mia clutched her chest and shouted, her voice trembling. "Clara, what are you doing!"

Clara panted heavily, her eyes red. "Yes! I'm losing it! Do you know what happened to me at work? That bitch Diana played me! And you're here arranging flowers for fun!"

Mia was so angry she could hardly breathe. After several deep breaths, she pointed a trembling finger at Clara. "Clara, haven't I been planning for you? How many times have I told you, the time isn't right. The time isn't right! Don't be impatient. What's the use of fighting with Diana? Get Charles, and Diana will have to serve you!"
