Chapter 331 Search

Inside the cruise ship cabin.

Charles sat on the couch, teetering on the edge of an outburst.

A group of people stood before him, their faces pale, beads of cold sweat forming on their foreheads from the tension.

Behind them, Nolan's expression was stern as he barked, "In just half an hour, she goes missing. As head of security, you got nothing to say for yourself?"

A middle-aged man among them spoke up weakly, "We've already sent people to search. The ship's still sailing, so the young lady must still be on board."

"And the surveillance? How long do you plan to take to find her on a ship this size?"

Nolan was nearly driven mad by their incompetence. Such a simple task, yet it was taking them forever!

"We checked, but for some reason, the surveillance footage is all black. It might be a signal issue."

His voice grew smaller and smaller, clearly lacking confidence.

If it were anyone else, it might be different, but it was someone close to Charles who had gone missing.

If anything happened to her, everyone present would pay the price.

Charles' eyes were deep and thoughtful as he looked at the food he had brought back, still sitting on the table.

He had only been gone for half an hour, but Diana was nowhere to be found in the room.

At first, he thought Diana was just playing around and would return soon, but after waiting for a long time, she was still nowhere to be seen.

The situation was spiraling out of his control, and he regretted not having Bronte stay with her.

"Mr. Percy, Ms. Spencer's disappearance, and the surveillance failure happening at the same time, I think this might be premeditated..."

Nolan hadn't finished speaking when Charles cut him off coldly, "I don't care what the reason is. The ship is still at sea. Even if you have to turn it upside down, find Diana!"

The overwhelming pressure almost made Nolan want to kneel. He swallowed hard and responded quickly, "Yes, Mr. Percy!"

In the storage room, Diana listened as the sounds outside grew more distant.

She carefully took out the blade hidden in her fingertips and began to cut the tape binding her arms.

She peeled the tape off her mouth and finally took a few deep breaths. Though her injuries looked bad, they weren't serious.

Diana pushed open the lid and climbed out of the box. Things were unfolding as she had anticipated; now she had to rely on herself.

Clara had just tricked those two crew members into leaving, and it would probably be a while before she returned.

Diana messed up her hair and picked up some shards from the floor, making a few cuts on her arm. Blood immediately began to flow.

After doing all this, she quietly waited.

About ten minutes later, the door opened again.

As soon as Clara entered, she felt a strong force push her aside, followed by the smell of blood as Diana ran out.

Her eyes widened in shock, and without a moment to react, she hurriedly chased after the fleeing figure.

She hadn't done anything yet; she couldn't let Diana escape!

Everyone outside was looking for Diana. If she managed to find someone and tell them what happened, it would all be over.

Fear and anger consumed Clara as she chased Diana, not daring to shout, starting a silent pursuit.

Surprisingly, there weren't many people on the path Diana took. Most hadn't even seen her face before she disappeared from view.

It wasn't until they reached the deck that the security team noticed them and quickly called for backup via their radios.

By then, they had reached the outside of the ship, where a helipad was located. It was usually deserted.

Clara, having lost her composure during the chase, saw Diana stop running and smirked coldly.

"Run! Why aren't you running? Too scared to call for help? There's no one here. Even if you scream, it's too late!"

Diana's expression remained calm as she slowly backed away.

Clara, seeing her lack of reaction, grew even more furious.

"Diana, are you deaf? Did you hear me? If you beg for mercy now, I might spare your life. Beg me!"

Diana finally looked up, shattering Clara's delusion.

"We're on a ship. How many people do you think are looking for me? You've done this to me, and you think you can get away?"

Clara's face twisted with rage, her grip on the knife so tight her knuckles turned white. She realized she had no way out.

But she quickly regained her viciousness.

"Diana, aren't you afraid I'll kill you?"

Diana's eyes grew colder, her demeanor more chilling.

"Kill me? You're not worthy!"

Clara's last thread of sanity snapped. She screamed and lunged at Diana.

"Diana, if I can't escape, I'll take you down with me!"

Diana remained indifferent, her elbow resting on the railing, letting the sea breeze tousle her hair.

At the same time, footsteps approached from behind Clara, followed by Charles' commanding voice.

"Stop!"

Clara, hearing the familiar voice, panicked. The knife aimed at Diana's chest shifted to her neck.

Diana moved slightly, using the motion to position herself in front of Clara, appearing to be held hostage.

Clara instinctively grabbed her, turning to see Charles and a group of well-trained crew members about 30 feet away.

"Clara! Don't hurt her! If you harm a single hair on her head, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"

Charles' face turned frantic upon seeing Diana's condition.

She was covered in injuries, her once beautiful dress stained with blood. Her face was swollen, evidence of the torment she had endured.

They had only been apart for an hour, and Clara had dared to do this to her!

Rage filled Charles' heart as he coldly ordered, "Seize her!"

Clara's face paled, and the knife at Diana's neck drew a thin line of blood.

"Don't come any closer!"

"Mr. Percy, Ms. Spencer is a hostage. We can't act rashly," Nolan quickly advised, halting everyone.

At that moment, Diana, seemingly unsatisfied with the tension, taunted, "See? I told you, you can't escape."

Her lips moved, and only Clara could hear her.

Clara grew even more agitated.

"Shut up! Why? Why do you get everything? You bitch, you stole everything from me!"

"Why?" Diana's eyes were icy as she sneered.

"You and your mother stole my life. Have you forgotten? You illegitimate child!"

Clara had always been sensitive about her status.

Though people showed her some respect, they secretly looked down on her, calling her mother a mistress and saying she could never inherit the Spencer family fortune.

Her father was Nathan, her mother Mia, and they had no connection to the Spencer family.

Because of this, Clara had always competed with Diana, using her pitiful demeanor to win Nathan's love and attention, taking everything she could.

Finally, people noticed her.

But then Diana married Charles.

Why?

Her jealousy drove her mad, filling her with resentment.

And now, everyone was here for Diana; not a single one truly cared about her, Clara.

In that critical moment, a thought suddenly crossed her mind, 'If that's the case, then I'll die with Diana. No one will have it easy!'

She dropped the knife, turned, and grabbed Diana, pressing her back against the railing.
