Chapter 174 I Want It All
Hearing Dorian's screams, Silas's mental defenses completely crumbled. He shut his eyes and muttered, "Enough! We'll pay back the money!"
Dorian, who had been wailing, immediately bit back his pain and gritted his teeth, "Grandpa, are you nuts? We can't pay back that much money. You've had your fun, but I'm still young! I don't want to end up broke!"
He then turned and angrily cursed at Diana, "Diana, you bitch! You flaunt your relationship with Charles and act all high and mighty. Why don't you rely on your own abilities? When my grandpa was running the Spencer Group, you were all about the men, and now you're heartless when it counts?"
Silas hadn't always been greedy for investment funds; he had once worked hard for the Spencer Group. But in the end, he couldn't resist the temptation.
Diana stood up indifferently, her voice slightly raised, "Dorian, you can keep cursing, but remember to pay back the money. If there's a penny missing in seven days, we'll see you in court."
With that, she turned to leave.
"Wait!" Silas called out, stopping her.
As Diana turned her head, he did something that shocked everyone.
Silas stood up, supported himself on the table, and slowly knelt down. His hair was gray, and with his head lowered, his face was unclear, but his voice was particularly hoarse, "I'm sorry, Ms. Diana Spencer. I wronged Ms. Bianca Spencer. Please forgive us."
As Silas knelt, Dorian became even more agitated, "Diana! How dare you humiliate my grandpa! I'll kill you!"
"Let me go!" Despite his dislocated arm, he struggled fiercely.
The two bodyguards almost couldn't hold him down.
Diana looked down at Dorian and Silas with cold indifference.
If kneeling and apologizing could offset billions of dollars, it would be too easy.
"Alright, gentlemen. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm a fool. Since we're settling accounts, I won't be polite."
"You took our shares and still want us to pay back the money?" Dorian gritted his teeth through the pain in his arm, speaking quickly.
"Mr. Dorian Walker, Ms. Spencer did discuss this with you. Just twenty minutes ago, you refused, so we had no choice but to take this approach," Robert added, glancing at the time.
The contrast between Dorian and Silas's previous arrogance and their current humility was particularly laughable.
Silas's face was ashen, unsure whether he should continue kneeling.
Diana seemed to remember something and said, "How about this? I suddenly have an idea that might satisfy both of you. You only need to pay back half the money, but..."
Diana paused for a moment, drawing out the suspense. Seeing Dorian and Silas's eyes on her, she continued, "But the Walker family, anyone who spent the Spencer Group's money, must kneel and apologize at my grandparents' tombstones!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Dorian immediately retorted, "Don't even think about it! We don't have the money, and you can take my life, but you can't..."
Kneel with his whole family? It was ridiculous!
But the next second, as if to fulfill his words, Diana quickly walked up to him and grabbed his neck.
Her fingers were slender and delicate, seemingly without much strength, but at this moment, she choked Dorian until his eyes turned red. He wanted to struggle, but the bodyguards behind him wouldn't let go.
The feeling of impending death softened Dorian's gaze, and he looked at Diana with a plea.
Diana squinted her eyes and released her grip, watching Dorian gasp for air with a flushed face.
She chuckled, "How about it, Dorian? If I want your life, are you willing to give it?"
Silas stood up, wanting to help him, but Robert stopped him.
"Enough, Diana! If you have any issues, come at me. Don't hurt him."
Diana took out a wet wipe from her pocket and wiped her hands leisurely, her tone light, "Silas, I'm just fulfilling your grandson's wish."
It took Dorian a while to recover. The suffocating feeling of near-death made him fearful. The Diana in front of him was completely different from the one in his memory, almost like a different person.
Diana sat on the sofa, her features looking even softer under the warm white light of the private room. It was hard to associate her with the person who had just choked Dorian.
Her smile deepened, her pink lips parting slightly, "Have you thought it through? Actually, Dorian's words just now gave me an idea. Since there's no money, a life for a life isn't out of the question. Perhaps if you and Dorian personally go to heaven to apologize to my grandparents, it would seem more sincere."
This time, Dorian didn't dare to provoke her. He had a gut feeling that if he nodded, Diana would really kill him.
Diana indeed had such thoughts. She was currently pregnant with Charles's child, and no matter what she did, Charles would support her. So why not be a bit more arrogant and reckless?
These people deserved to die anyway.
Suddenly, a sharp ringing filled her head, and Diana clutched her head, startled.
It seemed she just realized that her actions just now were exactly like Charles's.
The same neck-grabbing, the same death threats.
"Diana, are you okay?" Robert noticed her pale face and gently patted her arm.
Diana came back to her senses, lowered her hand, and shook her head, "I'm fine. I just had a bit of ringing in my ears, probably from being too angry."
She then looked up at Dorian and Silas, waiting for their response.
Dorian frowned, and after a moment, he finally lowered his head, "I agree! I'll apologize, but you have to keep your word."
"Of course, but I'm a suspicious person. Please record a video of the Walker family kneeling and apologizing and send it to me," Diana said slowly.
She didn't have time to supervise each of them kneeling.
Hearing this, Dorian almost cursed again, but Silas grabbed his arm. "Enough, don't say anything more."
Dorian, young and impetuous, couldn't see the bigger picture. Right now, it wasn't about the money. If these accounts were exposed, the Walker family would face prison time.
All the connections and reputation Silas had painstakingly built would be destroyed, even affecting the Walker family's future generations.
So at this moment, dignity and money were all secondary.
As long as they could preserve their reputation, everything else could be earned back.
Diana understood his thoughts. She never intended to completely destroy them.
Targeting only the Walker family was pointless. The losses weren't caused by Silas alone.
Those shareholders had long embezzled enough and sold their shares to Charles.
"In that case, thank you both for your cooperation. I hope to see both the money and the apology video in seven days."
With that, Diana stood up and waved to the two bodyguards, "Let go. We're leaving. Look at you, using too much force and dislocating Dorian's arm."
She apologized verbally, but her expression showed no remorse, only a hint of mockery.
Silas and Dorian glared at her retreating figure, wishing they could tear her apart.
At the door, Diana suddenly remembered something and paused, asking, "Silas, you remember where my grandparents' tombstones are, right?"
Silas choked, then recalled that he had visited a few times. "I remember."
Diana smiled meaningfully, "Good to know."
