Chapter 375 Ward

The man in black glanced at the three of them, exchanged a look with his companion, and finally decided to take them all to the hospital.

As for what to do next, they would wait for Charles to wake up and let him decide.

They got into the car and headed to the hospital.

Charles had already been taken into the operating room; his arm was severely injured and required surgery.

The three of them sat in the VIP room, waiting for his surgery to end.

Not long after, Nolan arrived, followed by a familiar face—Eugene.

After handling the press conference, the two had come to the hospital to check on Charles.

Diana saw them and quickly let her hair down, lowering her head to let it cover her face, looking timid and shy.

The two entered the room one after the other.

Seeing so many people in the room, they were both taken aback.

Nolan knew they would come, but he didn't expect Benjamin to be there too.

Eugene, on the other hand, was immediately drawn to Benjamin's face.

This kid looked exactly like Charles!

When did Charles have a son behind his back?

Eugene was shocked inside but remained silent on the outside.

He bent down, staring intently at Benjamin, startling him.

Benjamin took two steps back, hiding behind Diana.

"What are you looking at?"

"Whose child is this?" Eugene turned to ask Nolan.

Nolan glanced at Milan and Diana but didn't answer his question.

"Mr. Bailey, calm down. If you have questions, wait until Mr. Percy is out of surgery."

Seeing that he couldn't get any answers from Nolan, Eugene squatted down and forced a smile.

But the smile was too stiff, looking rather creepy.

"Kid, who are your parents?"

Benjamin clutched Diana's pants, looking at him warily.

"None of your business."

Eugene found his strong vigilance amusing.

The more he looked at the kid, the more he resembled Charles.

But why was he hiding behind this woman? Who was she?

Eugene frowned, trying to see Diana's face hidden behind her hair.

Diana shrank back, taking a step away.

"Sir, please mind your behavior!"

Her sweet voice came out, making Eugene scratch his head, suddenly losing interest.

Nolan, afraid Eugene would upset everyone in the room, quickly pulled him out.

They walked to the corner of the hallway, where Eugene stopped and asked, "Can you tell me now? Whose child is that?"

Nolan sighed and explained, "Zachary's."

"Zachary?"

Eugene's voice rose. He had guessed it might be Charles' child with some unknown woman.

But hearing it was Zachary's, he remembered what the reporter said at the press conference.

"So, Zachary really has a child?"

"Yes."

Seeing Nolan nod, Eugene felt the world was absurd.

How could it be so coincidental that Zachary, who had died, left behind a child?

But now the child was with Charles, not Elise.

Thinking of this, Eugene felt relieved. At least they could use the child to balance Elise.

"Alright, I get it. But the kid looks so much like Charles, I thought he had a secret lover."

Eugene didn't ask more, casually commenting.

Nolan nodded in agreement, thinking to himself, 'It's precisely because of the resemblance that Charles is protecting Benjamin today.'

When they returned to the room, Charles had already been brought out of surgery.

Eugene approached, commenting, "Even injured, you still look handsome. No wonder you're my friend."

Charles, still under the effects of anesthesia, looked pale and sickly. He barely reacted to Nolan and Eugene's presence.

"Mr. Percy! Are you okay? Does it still hurt?" Benjamin asked timidly as he saw Charles return.

Charles frowned slightly, looking over before speaking. "Why are you here?"

His voice was hoarse, his throat dry. Nolan quickly handed him some water.

"I didn't want to go back, so I came to the hospital to see you," Benjamin explained softly.

Charles responded with a faint nod, accepting his presence.

"Since Mr. Percy is out of danger, we won't disturb your rest. Wishing you a speedy recovery," Milan said, sensing it was time to leave.

"Wait," Charles suddenly spoke, his gaze falling on Milan and Diana.

He leaned on Nolan, slowly sitting up.

"I'm injured now and need care. This lady has professional medical knowledge and should be able to handle the job."

Eugene found it odd that he struggled to sit up just to say this.

Diana kept her head down, staring at her shoes.

"Sorry, I can't be a caregiver. Mr. Percy should find a professional," Diana replied.

"Name your price. You just need to stay with me; you don't have to do anything else," Charles insisted, his eyes intense.

"I'd rather not..."

"Charles!"

A soft, urgent voice interrupted from the door before she could finish.

Everyone turned to look at the newcomer.

Stella had just finished a brand meeting and rushed over without changing her clothes.

Her makeup was flawless, her appearance delicate, and she rushed to the bedside with tears in her eyes.

"How did you get hurt suddenly? What happened? Where are you injured? What did the doctor say?"

Nolan, fearing that her emotional state might cause her to accidentally press on Charles' wound, quickly spoke up to stop her.

Benjamin tugged Diana's fingers, whispering, "Mommy, that's his fiancée."

Diana raised her eyebrows, remembering.

Dean had mentioned Charles was getting married, and his fiancée was a big star. So it was her.

But looking closely, she found the woman somewhat resembled herself.

A strange feeling rose in her heart.

Stella wiped her tears. "Charles, weren't you at the press conference? How did you get so badly injured?"

"Don't ask what you shouldn't," Charles' tone was cold, giving her no respect.

"Sorry, I spoke out of turn," Stella quickly apologized, then softly said, "You're injured now, it's inconvenient. I'll stay at the hospital to take care of you. I've already told my agent, I can clear my schedule for the next week."

Everyone's attention was on Stella.

Diana saw this and squeezed Benjamin's hand. Then she let go of his hand, whispering, "I'm leaving."

Benjamin was reluctant but knew he couldn't be willful now, so he nodded.

He took two steps forward, standing in front of Diana, trying to shield her with his small body.

Diana's steps were light, but as soon as she turned, Charles noticed her movement and called out in a deep voice, "Stop."
