Chapter 208 Evidence

Grant took a deep breath and put on a pained expression.

"I know you've always hated me because I got married. But Sophia is dead now, and Hestia was her good friend. If we live happily together, I'm sure Sophia would be happy for us too."

In the audience, Hestia realized what was happening and quickly ran to Grant's side, joining forces with him.

"Yeah, Dean. Stop making stuff up to frame us. People have said you were very close to Sophia. I think you loved her but couldn't have her, so you can't stand our happiness and are seeking revenge!"

Dean was amused by Hestia and Grant's words and didn't know what to say for a moment.

The audience began to whisper among themselves.

Everyone knew about Dean and Sophia's close relationship.

Now, the election for the executive committee members was at a critical stage. According to Grant and Hestia, Dean indeed had a motive to frame them.

The lights, which had been turned off, were turned back on, and Dean stood in the middle of the hall, raising his voice. "First of all..."

"You say I was very close to Sophia? In our alliance, who doesn't have a close friend? If being close means being suspected of a relationship, that's an insult to us."

His serious expression and words resonated with many in the audience.

A close friend was like family.

Many in the Sword of Damocles had gone on missions together, experiencing life-and-death moments, forming the purest bonds.

Dean was right; malicious speculation would indeed insult their friendships.

Grant clearly didn't have this awareness.

Seeing Dean's rebuttal, he immediately said, "Even if you didn't have a romantic relationship with her, you do hate me. If I'm wrong, I'll apologize to you after the election."

Having spent a long time with Hestia, he was used to retreating to advance and reducing conflict.

But Dean didn't want to waste words with him and started typing on his keyboard, posting the complete chain of evidence on the Sword of Damocles' internal forum.

"Everyone, check the forum. See how hard our candidate has worked for a spot on the executive committee."

Hearing his words, the crowd took out their phones and began to check.

Grant's expression changed slightly, not understanding what Dean meant.

Impossible, he had hidden it well; Dean couldn't have found out.

Hestia, trembling, opened the forum.

It clearly listed how they had bribed executive committee members, with bank statements and transfer records attached. Additionally, Grant and Hestia's trips to the Rainbow Federation were clearly recorded, even marking the times they met with spies.

Involving executive committee members, the audience was in an uproar.

An election like this was completely predetermined!

The Sword of Damocles' executive committee had become so corrupt.

"What the hell is this if not a scandal? How you executive committee members do things! If you don't want to work, you can get lost!" Someone in the crowd cursed, followed by a flood of angry shouts.

The bribed executive committee members were also pushed out.

Several of them were in their forties, and in an era of abundant talent, forty-year-old hackers were gradually becoming obsolete. This was why they accepted bribes, all for fame and fortune.

But now, those who once held high positions were being cursed by others in the Sword of Damocles.

Fortunately, everyone remained rational and didn't resort to violence.

Dean placed his computer on a nearby table and clapped his hands, signaling everyone to look over.

As he did, the crowd quieted down, listening to him continue. "Everyone can verify whether this evidence is fabricated, so..."

Dean's tone changed, and he sternly addressed Grant on the stage, "How long are you two going to keep pretending up there?"

Grant was terrified, almost unable to stand.

He didn't want to go to jail; there had to be a way to save himself. But no matter how hard Grant thought, he couldn't come up with anything to turn the unfavorable situation around.

Unconsciously, he gripped Hestia's arm tightly and said in a trembling voice, "Hestia, what do we do?"

Hestia's face was pale too. She wanted to rely on Grant but found him so useless. It was his idea to sell secrets, and she had always told him to be careful.

Now, it had all come to light, and he couldn't even defend himself.

Hestia gritted her teeth in hatred. It was all Sophia's fault; even in death, she caused trouble, leaving Dean to make their lives miserable.

But she quickly adjusted her emotions, her expression firm, and pointed the finger at Dean.

"This is clearly a trap you set! What bribery? Ridiculous! We knew we were lacking in ability but still wanted to do more for the alliance. So we gave some money to the executive committee for public use."

The audience responded with sarcastic remarks. Several billion dollars being called "some money." When did it devalue so much?

But the executive committee members, hearing this, seemed to cling to hope and quickly agreed.

"Exactly, earning a few billion dollars takes time, but it shows how hard they worked for the alliance's development."

"Really?" Dean raised an eyebrow, his tone long and mocking, "So selling national secrets was also for the alliance?"

He wanted to see how Hestia would cover this lie. But clearly, Dean underestimated her ability to spout nonsense.

Hestia took a deep breath and explained, "Do you know what a negative example is? We hired actors to put on a show to prevent such situations and remind everyone not to imitate such behavior."

As soon as she finished, the crowd looked at her with strange expressions. Was she treating them like children?

But Hestia believed that as long as she didn't admit it, Dean couldn't do anything to them. Unless he brought the spy from the Rainbow Federation here to confront them.

Dean clapped his hands and laughed exaggeratedly, like an aging puppet. But the next second, he lowered his head and sent out another video.

In the video, a man in prison clothes, with vacant eyes, had his hands cuffed to a table. He mechanically repeated that he was a spy, detailing how he transmitted secrets, clearly implicating Grant and Hestia.

Grant and Hestia were completely dumbfounded. With all the evidence and witnesses, it was like an overwhelming force, leaving them utterly defeated.

"In a few days, the capture of this spy will be made public in the Rainbow Federation. Guess which countries want you two dead?" Dean chuckled. If they could still find an excuse to refute this, that would be truly impressive.

Grant and Hestia stood on the stage, trembling uncontrollably. If the money transactions and trips were evidence Dean obtained through surveillance, they might still have a chance to fight back.

But now, with the spy captured and the interrogation content strictly confidential in the Rainbow Federation, Dean obtaining the interrogation video meant someone was collaborating with him.
