Chapter 80 Breakup

Clara, sprawled on the ground, finally managed to catch her breath. She'd seen Diana get choked before, but it never really hit her how bad it was until she felt it herself. This time, she got it—life's pretty damn precious. And Charles? He was downright terrifying.

Clara slowly got up, crawling over to where Charles was waiting for Nolan nearby. She didn't dare get too close, and her voice, usually sweet, was now rough and shaky. "Mr. Percy, I'm sorry. I drank too much and lost it for a moment. I'm really sorry."

Charles stared off into the distance for what felt like forever before he finally spoke, "If this happens again, you're out."

Clara nodded quickly, terrified he'd change his mind. As long as she could stay at Percy Group, even if she wasn't with Charles, she could still meet big shots. So, she swallowed her pride and apologized right away. Knowing Charles didn't want to see her anymore, she left, feeling pretty low.

A bit later, Nolan showed up. He could tell right away that Charles was pissed and wondered who was in for it this time.

Once they were in the car, Charles finally spoke, "Stop the investment in Spencer Group. And Richardson Group too, put everything on hold."

Nolan got the message; Diana had ticked him off again. Even though stopping these projects would hurt Percy Group, keeping Charles happy was what mattered. Nolan didn't argue and just nodded.

Over at Mirage Nights Club, Isolde, wearing Diana's coat, came out of the restroom. She'd been forced to drink a lot by some jerks who were giving her a hard time just because she was a woman.

Luckily, she'd called Diana, who came to her rescue. But now, as Isolde stepped out of the restroom, she saw the hallway was empty. "Where did everyone go?" she mumbled.

Diana had just put Billy in the car when she remembered Isolde was still inside. She told the driver to wait and went back to get her. Isolde, still a bit tipsy, pouted. "Diana, what's going on? You said you'd wait for me. Where did you go?"

Diana hugged her, trying to calm her down. "It's my fault. I should've waited. Let's go home first, and you can yell at me all you want when we get there."

Isolde finally seemed satisfied and got into the back seat, only to find someone else there. She squinted and realized it was Billy, who was half-asleep.

"What's he doing here?" Isolde asked. Diana, fastening her seatbelt, didn't know how to explain. Billy had passed out as soon as he got in the car, and she hadn't had a chance to ask where he lived.

If she took the drunk Billy back to Harmony Haven Estate, Vance would probably grill her about it tomorrow. Feeling overwhelmed, Diana decided to take both Billy and Isolde back to Spencer Villa. Her place had plenty of rooms, after all.

By the time they got home, it was already midnight. Billy was out cold, so Diana had to pay the driver extra to carry him into the living room.

Evelyn, who had been sleeping with Cecil, woke up from the noise downstairs and realized Diana was back. She went to the living room and found Isolde there, along with Billy passed out on the sofa. Evelyn's sleepiness vanished, and she almost shouted, "What happened, Ms. Spencer?"

Diana, pregnant and worn out from running around all night, was completely beat. "We'll talk tomorrow," she mumbled before collapsing onto the sofa and passing out.

Isolde was the only one still awake, but she wasn't exactly clear-headed either, reeking of alcohol. The smell made Evelyn wrinkle her nose.

"Evelyn, where's Cecil? I wanna see Cecil," Isolde said with a goofy smile, trying to go hug Cecil but getting pulled back by Evelyn.

"Ms. Porter, please take care of these two. I'll some coffee and get some Gatorade to help with the hangover," Evelyn said.

Isolde, as if given a mission, snapped to attention and replied, "Mission accepted!"

Evelyn sighed but got to work quickly. She made coffee while keeping an eye on the living room. Luckily, even though Isolde was drunk, she was pretty obedient, patrolling the living room like a guard dog.

When the coffee was ready, Evelyn gave some to Isolde first, then sent her to the guest room and told her to sleep. Isolde, surprisingly, obeyed and closed her eyes.

With Isolde settled, Evelyn realized she couldn't move the two on the sofa. So she covered them with blankets and decided to sleep beside Diana, just in case she woke up in the middle of the night. The chaotic day finally ended at 2 a.m.

The next morning, Evelyn was the first to wake up. But by then, Robert had already returned, holding Cecil with a worried look. He'd come home to find three people sleeping in the living room. Before he could ask, he heard Cecil crying upstairs. Robert, flustered and exhausted from trying to calm and feed the baby, was relieved when Evelyn finally woke up.

It wasn't until lunchtime that the other three woke up, drawn by the smell of food. Isolde, now well-rested, felt refreshed.

Billy, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. His hangover left him with a pounding headache and a churning stomach. He felt awful and threw up several times before feeling a bit better.

While Billy was absent, Isolde started gossiping. "What happened? You went to pick me up and ended up bringing Billy back too?"

Diana rolled her eyes and gently pinched Isolde's cheek. "This is all your fault! Next time, bring someone who can actually drink when you talk business. Don't insist on doing it yourself! I ran into Billy and Charles when I went to get you."

At the mention of Charles, everyone immediately stopped joking and checked Diana over. "Are you okay? Did he hit you? Should we go to the hospital for a check-up?" Charles's bad reputation was well-known, and mentioning him never led to anything good.

Diana waved her hand, indicating it wasn't necessary. "I'm fine, but there was a conflict. He accused me of being a flirt and seducing Billy."

"And then?" Isolde pressed on.

"Billy wanted to protect me, and I was afraid they'd fight. So I lied and said I was dating Billy," Diana said, taking a sip of soup calmly.

But the other three were stunned, shocked. "You, you really said that?" Robert asked slowly.

Diana didn't understand why they were so surprised. 'I just told a lie to protect myself. What's the big deal?' She thought to herself.

Diana replied, "Yeah, so what? It's not like we're really dating. It was just a white lie. We can break up today."

"Diana, are you breaking up with me?" a trembling voice suddenly came from behind. It was Billy.

Diana thought, 'Oh no, does Billy take it seriously?'
