Chapter 310 Plan Accelerated

Diana moved quickly and reached the door in no time.

However, her hand turned the doorknob for a long while, but the door showed no sign of opening.

The room was locked.

Her eyes widened in disbelief as she twisted the knob a few more times.

Frustrated, she lifted her foot and kicked the door hard, but all she managed to do was make herself breathless; the door didn't budge an inch.

A maid cleaning nearby was startled by the commotion.

She cautiously spoke up, holding her broom, "Ms. Spencer, the key to this room is with Tessa. If you want to open it, I can go get her for you."

Diana paused, anger flaring up inside her. Tessa again!

Just a little bit of power, and she was already making things difficult for others. And this tiny bit of power was given to her by Charles.

As the maid hesitated, Diana stopped her, "No need."

Begging wouldn't help; she had to figure it out herself.

With that, Diana returned to Charles' room.

After locking the door and drawing the curtains, she turned on her computer and logged into the Dark Web forum.

There was no time for pleasantries; Diana immediately made a call, but no one answered.

She persisted, and finally, on the third call, Dean picked up.

Seeing Diana's barrage of calls, Dean's heart sank. He thought it must be something extremely urgent, his voice trembling slightly, "Sophia, I'm here. What's going on?"

"Dean, send a car to pick me up outside The Percy Mansion immediately. I need to get out."

"Okay, I'll send someone right away. But Sophia, Elise is also watching you. If you go out now, it will definitely be dangerous. What's going on? Let me handle it."

Dean spoke quickly, outlining the risks. Diana's sudden call had pushed their plan forward too much.

"Someone very important to me is sick. I need to find a doctor. This is a great opportunity; I have a valid reason to leave, and I'm confident I can kill two birds with one stone."

The best way to leave Charles was through death. Only if she was dead would he lose his grip on her, and she would have no worries.

And she could use her death to get Evelyn to see a doctor. It sounded like a huge price, but she was confident she could carry out the plan quietly.

Seeing her determination, Dean didn't stop her, only saying, "Alright, I'll go right away."

After ending the call, Diana turned off the computer and looked around.

The downstairs was full of maids; there was no way she could run out under so many eyes. She had to find another way.

Charles' room had a large floor-to-ceiling window, the only way out was the balcony, which led directly to the back garden.

The back garden was usually empty, but to get out from there, she would have to circle around to the front.

But last time she played with Snowy, she found a hole in the wall of the back garden. It wasn't very big, but enough for her to crawl through.

Diana's gaze fell on the spot not far away, covered by bushes.

She went over her plan in her mind once more. Then she turned around and used all the tools in the room that she could.

She tore down the bedsheets, the ripping sound filling the room, and cut them into strips, tying them together. Soon, a makeshift escape rope was ready.

Diana lowered the rope, tugging it to make sure it was secure. Then she tied one end around her waist and grabbed the other, slowly sliding down.

Luckily, Charles' room was on the second floor, not too far from the ground.

Soon, Diana landed.

She hid in the corner, scanning the area to make sure no one was around, then moved towards the bushes.

The trimmed bushes were still prickly, leaving scratches on her skin, but she didn't care and kept moving.

Finally, she reached the hole. The weeds around it were still flattened from when Snowy had trampled them last time.

Diana pulled out the weeds, then lay down and tested the hole.

Once she was sure her shoulders could fit through, she lay down and crawled forward.

Her heart pounded in her chest, and she controlled her breathing. Finally, she was out!

Covered in dust and grass, she didn't bother to clean up, just brushed herself off and headed for the road.

Although she had informed Dean, they had no way to communicate now. Whether she could find the driver Dean sent was entirely up to luck.

Diana clenched her fists and ran to the road.

The Percy Mansion was in a remote location, with few cars passing by. Only on the road did she have a chance.

A taxi drove by Diana, honking twice before stopping next to her.

The window rolled down, and the driver called out, "Need a ride, miss? A hundred bucks to downtown."

Diana sneered, opening the back door while cursing, "Charging that much? You're robbing me!"

"Well, it's the only way to make money these days."

The driver sounded cheerful. He wore glasses and a mask, but Diana recognized him immediately as Dean.

She lowered her voice, unable to help asking, "Why did you come yourself? I told you not to."

"Sophia, it was too sudden today. I didn't trust anyone else. So I came myself."

He added, "This is an unlicensed taxi; they won't trace it. By the way, there's something under your seat. Put it on quickly."

Diana bent down and felt around, her eyes lighting up when she found it, "You sure know how to prepare."

"Of course, you have to play the part."

Diana quickly put on the disguise and asked, "Are you sure they'll take action? It has to be foolproof."

Dean nodded, a hint of worry in his eyes, "Yes, last time we met, they almost took action. But we separated early, making them wait."

"And with Charles keeping you hidden, if we don't seize this opportunity, it will be impossible to act again."

Diana nodded slightly, rehearsing in her mind what might happen next.

Life is a play, and it's all about acting. This would be her final scene.

As the car drove into the city, the surroundings became more bustling.

Diana quickly got out of the car.

She stood out too much, beautiful, lightly dressed, and injured, walking alone on the street.

These factors combined easily made people think of a trafficked woman or a mental patient.

This was the city center, and soon someone approached, "Excuse me, are you okay? Do you need help?"

The person was a girl, looking like a particularly righteous college student.

Diana blinked and gave her a smile, then said, "Thank you for your concern. I was in a hurry and need to borrow your phone to make a call. Is that okay?"

Seeing that Diana could communicate normally, the girl breathed a sigh of relief and handed over her phone.

She also took off her shawl and draped it over Diana's shoulders.

"It's too cold today; you should wear more. Let's go over there to make the call. It looks like it's going to rain."
