Chapter 152 I've gotten used to it
He tightened his grip, and Diana instinctively dropped the box she was holding, trying to pry his hand away.
The items hit the floor, making the tense atmosphere even colder.
Diana gasped and let out a muffled groan.
Hearing her, Charles instinctively loosened his grip.
But Diana just gritted her teeth, still silent, glaring at him angrily.
When did she become like this?
"What do you want me to say? That I didn't hang out with handsome guys? Would you even believe me? You're right, I am greedy and lustful."
There was a hint of mockery in Diana's eyes, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Charles was momentarily stunned, his eyes darkening with growing irritation.
He hated feeling out of control.
"Enough! From now on, you're not leaving this hospital!"
Diana's eyebrows relaxed, as if to say, 'See, no matter what I say, it's wrong.'
Charles suddenly let go of her, turning his head away, refusing to look at her.
He had used a lot of force, leaving two red marks on Diana's cheeks.
Baby items were scattered all over the floor, and Evelyn's favorite pacifier had rolled to Charles's feet.
Diana squatted down, picking up the items one by one.
Charles felt a surge of irritation, listening to the rustling behind him.
He turned and saw the baby clothes on the ground, and the tiny socks no longer than his fingers.
Charles's expression softened a bit.
Diana used to take his card and spend lavishly.
He could afford it, but he hated it, so he didn't want to spend a penny on her.
But today, she went out with friends to buy baby items?
Charles squatted down, picking up a pair of tiny socks with one hand and the pacifier with the other.
Diana gathered the rest of the items and reached out to Charles. "Give them back!"
Charles held the soft socks, his expression a bit puzzled. "Did you buy these?"
"What does it matter to you? Charles, this didn't cost you a penny. Give them back!"
Diana reached out to grab them, but Charles held them high.
His expression was unhappy, and he said in a deep voice, "Why didn't you explain earlier, why didn't you say anything?"
"Stop talking nonsense! Give them back!" Diana tugged at his clothes, jumping up, but was unable to reach.
She stopped and took a deep breath, not wanting to play this childish game with Charles.
Diana took a step back and said coldly, "Since you like them, you can keep the pacifier and socks for yourself!"
After saying that, she picked up her things and quickly left without looking back.
Charles's face darkened, and he started to chase after her.
But when Diana was angry, she moved with the speed and agility of a professional athlete.
Charles couldn't catch up with her.
When Diana came out, she bumped into Nolan's shoulder.
The force almost made the 6-foot-tall Nolan step back.
But she didn't stop, carrying her things and walking out, not giving Nolan any time to react.
Moments later, Charles emerged from the stairwell, only to see Nolan looking stunned and Diana's back retreating into the distance.
Nolan had no clue what had gone down between Charles and Diana, but seeing Charles holding baby socks and a pacifier was just... bizarre.
"Mr. Percy? What now?" Nolan asked, trying to make sense of the situation.
Charles looked up, then stuffed the items into his pocket. "Go, call those two bodyguards over."
Nolan's eyebrows twitched, sensing something bad was about to happen.
Meanwhile, Evelyn and Isolde were anxiously waiting by the car. Evelyn had been crying, and her cheeks were still wet with tears.
"What do we do, Isolde? Mr. Percy is definitely going to bully Ms. Spencer again," Evelyn fretted.
Isolde was pacing, one hand supporting her chin, deep in thought. Charles had been furious earlier, but why? But they hadn't caused any trouble today.
"Isolde, Evelyn," a familiar voice called out, and both women looked up simultaneously.
Diana walked over, unharmed, carrying her things, with no one else around.
Evelyn rushed to her, noticing the red marks on Diana's face. She grabbed Diana's hand, checking her over to make sure she was okay.
Isolde frowned, staring at Diana's face. "Charles did this? What's wrong with him? You're still pregnant! Isn't this domestic violence?"
"I'm fine, see? Perfectly fine," Diana said with a smile, even spinning around lightly. "He's just going crazy, and we're divorced, so it's not domestic violence. If it were anyone else, I'd make them pay."
Isolde was visibly upset. She had been grateful to Charles for saving Cecil back then, but seeing his attitude towards Diana now, he was nothing but a demon, not a good husband or father. No wonder Diana didn't want to have children; if she had a son just like Charles, she'd want to die just looking at him.
"I'll go talk to him..." Isolde started.
Diana interrupted, "No need, Isolde. I'm used to it. Charles is heartless; he won't listen to you."
"Ms. Spencer, what does Mr. Percy plan to do with us?" Evelyn asked, knowing Charles's character. If he was angry, he would definitely punish them.
Diana recalled Charles's words and said with a bitter smile, "After this, I can't go out. I'll have to stay in the hospital."
Hearing this, Evelyn actually breathed a sigh of relief. At least she could stay by Diana's side, and just couldn't go out; it wasn't a big deal.
Diana and Evelyn naturally accepted this fact.
Isolde raised her voice, "Really? What did you do that he wants to lock you up? Just bought some baby items? It's his child after all. You didn't even ask him for money."
Diana put the items in the car, rubbing her palms. "His two bodyguards said I went to play with handsome guys."
"He believed it?"
"Yes."
"Really?" Isolde's eyes widened, gesturing wildly but unable to find the words.
After a moment, she quickly said, "Is he an idiot? Can't tell a joke? Any evidence we went to play with handsome guys? This bastard makes me so mad!"
Evelyn weakly added, "Mr. Percy is like that. He hates Ms. Spencer from the bottom of his heart. He won't believe anything Ms. Spencer says."
Isolde fell silent, regretting her joke. Prejudice in people's hearts was the hardest mountain to overcome.
Diana was more open-minded, opening the car door and sitting in the passenger seat. "Alright, Isolde. I'm used to his bad temper. Take me and Evelyn back to the hospital."
