Chapter 150 Mother and Baby Store
Seeing everyone chime in, Sabrina pouted, "Alright then, Diana, catch you later! We didn't get to hang out much today."
Diana nodded, unsure when they'd meet again, so they'd figure it out later.
The main thing now was to get Sabrina and Noah out of there ASAP.
Noah gave a slight nod to the group, "We're heading out. Today's tab at the Enigma Club is on me. Enjoy yourselves."
Isolde's face lit up with a big smile. Even if it wasn't a ton of money, having someone else pick up the bill was always nice. "Thanks, Mr. Glenn, you're too kind!"
Noah didn't say another word and left with Sabrina.
Sabrina kept turning back and waving as they walked away.
Diana didn't relax until they were completely out of sight and then flopped back into her chair.
"Finally, you guys are here. Noah is just as chatty as Sabrina."
Isolde stifled a laugh, "Isn't that a good thing? A handsome guy chatting with you. Come on, don't just lie there. Are we still going for a massage?"
Diana shook her head. Being pregnant made everything more of a hassle.
"I'm not going. Noah and Sabrina are still around; they might come back down later."
With that, Diana sat up straight, tidied her now-dry hair, and stood up with Evelyn's help.
Isolde glanced at the two bodyguards not far away, feeling a bit uneasy.
It would be a shame for Diana to leave without fully enjoying herouting.
"Just in time, I need to buy something for Cecil. Come with me."
Isolde quickly thought of a new fun activity.
Who didn't love a good shopping trip?
Evelyn's eyes lit up, "Are we going to a baby store? Baby stuff is so cute. Ms. Spencer, you should go. Going back to the hospital is too boring."
Diana thought for a moment, glanced at the two bodyguards who were watching them closely, and quickly agreed. "Let's go. I just realized I haven't bought anything for Cecil yet."
Isolde affectionately linked arms with her, "That's nothing. After all, you're his godmother. You'll have to give him gifts on holidays."
Diana chuckled and followed Isolde out of the Enigma Club.
The three of them drove back to the Spark Plaza mall, which had a very famous children's brand chain store.
Not only did they have excellent baby products, but their children's clothing was also very stylish and exquisite.
This time, Isolde didn't have the bodyguards wait outside but waved them over.
The two bodyguards, with stern expressions and sunglasses, looked almost identical.
"Since you're here to protect Diana, you don't mind carrying some things, do you? We could use a bit of help."
One of the bodyguards, Jett, glanced at the smiling Isolde and cleared his throat. "Sure."
Isolde patted his solid shoulder and winked at Diana.
The store's logo was super cute, with a pink color scheme and a theme image of a sleeping baby holding a bottle.
As soon as they entered, they were greeted by a variety of baby products, with an array of items and styles that dazzled the eye.
Evelyn tugged at Diana's clothes, pointing excitedly at a pair of shoes, "Ms. Spencer! So cute!"
Diana followed her gaze and saw that not only were the shoes tiny, but the clothes and socks were all in mini versions.
The store clerk noticed the three of them and marveled at their beauty.
Momentarily unable to tell who was the expectant mother, she asked tentatively, "Welcome! Is there anything you need? I can introduce you to our products. Who is the expectant mother?"
In selling baby products, captivating the hearts of expectant mothers often led to ninety percent success!
Isolde jumped in, "I'm here to pick up some stuff for my little guy. He's almost one."
The clerk's eyes lit up, and she clapped her hands in excitement.
"Oh my gosh, you don't look like you've had a baby at all! You look amazing! For a baby that's almost one, you might want to check out baby walkers and some educational toys. And since kids grow so fast, you'll need to keep buying clothes..."
The clerk eagerly started showing off products, one by one, really showing off her expertise.
Isolde listened intently, while Evelyn pulled Diana aside to browse.
Suddenly, Evelyn stopped and whispered, "Ms. Spencer, I heard that at three months pregnant, you can hear the baby's heartbeat."
Diana hadn't known that. To her, it still didn't feel real that there was a baby inside her.
But Evelyn was different. When Brenda was taking care of Diana, Evelyn was always learning new things on the side.
She even bought a bunch of parenting books to study.
Diana had joked that people might think the baby was Evelyn's, not hers.
Seeing Evelyn's serious look, Diana didn't interrupt but signaled her to go on with her eyes.
"I want to buy something for the baby. Is that okay, Ms. Spencer?"
Evelyn bit her lip. She knew Diana didn't have any feelings for the baby yet.
But the baby was still Diana's, and Evelyn couldn't help but feel a bit protective.
'The baby's heartbeat? Dr. Ramos did mention that. In a couple of days, I'll have a prenatal check-up and will be able to feel this little life inside me through the machine,' Diana thought.
But Diana's attitude towards the baby was always cold, even a bit resentful.
The idea of having a child with Charles filled her with dread.
If she could, she'd rather Charles be the one to go through pregnancy and childbirth.
Noticing Diana's silence, Evelyn gently tugged her sleeve and gave her a pleading look.
Diana snapped out of it and, seeing Evelyn's expression, didn't want to waste her kindness.
So she raised her hand and patted Evelyn's head. "Go ahead."
Seeing her agree, Evelyn's eyes lit up.
The next moment, Diana watched as Evelyn and Isolde showed off their impressive shopping skills.
Evelyn on one side, Isolde on the other, both shopping with enthusiasm. The clerk, seeing the sales go up, couldn't stop smiling and got even more excited.
Knowing Diana's feelings about the baby, Evelyn didn't ask for her opinion while shopping, just finding joy in spending money.
Diana glanced around briefly at the various baby clothes, bibs, and soft baby socks.
They were so cute that Evelyn couldn't decide and ended up buying several pairs.
In the end, it turned into Isolde, after buying things for Cecil, joining Evelyn to shop for Diana's unborn baby.
"Diana, isn't this cute?"
Diana nodded.
"Ms. Spencer, this is so adorable!"
Diana nodded.
"They're all so cute. Buy them all!"
Diana kept nodding.
At checkout, Evelyn generously covered the entire bill, making sure Diana didn't have to spend a dime.
"You've spent all the money you earned back on me, haven't you?" Diana pinched Evelyn's cheek, her tone a mix of exasperation and affection.
Evelyn pulled Diana's hand down and placed a box in it, smiling happily, "Never mind, Ms. Spencer. This is my favorite purchase today. Open it and see."
Following her words, Diana opened the box.
