Chapter 413 Discharge from Hospital

An elderly man in a security uniform, holding a baton, saw the scene from a distance and thought a patient was being kidnapped. He hurried over to check.

Charles smirked, half-embracing Diana and turning her around.

Her face was flushed with anger.

But when the old man got a closer look at the two, he abandoned the idea of a kidnapping and felt embarrassed, realizing he had interrupted a couple's intimate moment.

The old man coughed twice and waved his hand, "Sorry, my mistake. Carry on, carry on..."

He quickly walked away, and Charles lowered his voice, "Shall we continue?"

Diana bit her lip and pinched Charles where he couldn't see, but his muscles were too firm, so she had to break free from his embrace and step back several paces.

"Mr. Percy, please behave yourself!"

With that, she walked away briskly, her mood for a stroll completely ruined.

But after just a few steps, Diana stormed back, gritting her teeth, "You want to keep me? Dream on! Just because you have money, you think you're so great?"

As she walked away again, Charles bent over, covering his mouth to stifle his laughter, his shoulders shaking with the effort.

She had come to test him, yet she was the one who got angry.

The tension he had felt over the past few days, fearing he might lose her, eased considerably because of this little episode.

Once he had laughed enough, he composed himself, pushed the wheelchair parked at the park entrance, and went after Diana, who was walking ahead.

They walked back, ten feet apart, one behind the other.

It was Diana's first time downstairs since being admitted, and she hesitated when they returned to the hospital, unsure of the way back to her room.

She stopped and glanced back at Charles, who had a calm expression. Seeing her stop, he also stopped, clearly not intending to lead the way.

Her strong sense of competitiveness made Diana close her mouth and, relying on the hospital's signs, she took half an hour to find her way back to her room.

When Diana pushed open the door, she saw Nolan sitting on the sofa with a stack of documents beside him.

He looked up at the sound and, seeing it was Diana, nodded politely in greeting.

But Nolan's gaze kept shifting behind her, clearly waiting for Charles.

A suffocating feeling, like being wrapped by a python, suddenly overwhelmed Diana.

She even felt that being at the Percy Mansion was better than being in the hospital, at least she wouldn't be with Charles all day.

She took a deep breath and suddenly said, "Nolan, I want to be discharged now."

Nolan, called by name, quickly responded, standing up to answer, "Ms. Wipere, are you sure your body is okay? Actually, I also think recovering at home is a good idea."

At least this way, Charles could return to the company, and he wouldn't have to come to the hospital every day.

Thinking of this, Nolan felt much lighter and said as he walked out, "I'll go find the doctor now."

After he left, Diana collapsed weakly onto the bed, feeling utterly drained.

But she heard Nolan's voice again at the door, "Mr. Percy."

"Where are you going?"

"Ms. Wipere said she's feeling much better and wants to go home."

"Home?"

Something about that word struck Charles. His previously stern face softened, and he raised an eyebrow, leaning halfway through the door to look at Diana lying on the bed, "You want to go home?"

"Yes." Diana closed her eyes, ignoring his gaze, and pulled the blanket over herself, not wanting to deal with him.

Charles' lips curved slightly, and he coughed lightly, "If she wants to go home, then go find the doctor. If everything checks out, we'll go home."

Nolan nodded respectfully, "Understood."

Charles' phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket, interrupting his thoughts. He pulled it out to see Eugene calling.

He answered the call while closing the door to the room and walked to the end of the hallway, "What is it?"

"My dear friend, are you still at the hospital?"

Eugene's tone was annoyingly sweet, and Charles frowned, "If you keep talking nonsense, don't bother calling me again."

Eugene quickly straightened up, becoming serious, "Don't hang up, I have something important."

"Get to the point!"

"Alright, no need to rush. So, you haven't been to the company or home these past few days. Your girlfriend, or rather, your ex-girlfriend, really wants to see you but can't find you. So, she came to me..."

Before he could finish, Charles interrupted coldly, "Did you tell her I'm at the hospital?"

Eugene's guilty laughter came through the phone, "She might already be on her way. I thought I'd give you a heads-up so you can be prepared."

The phone line went dead, and Eugene tossed his phone aside, muttering to himself, "Charles, I didn't mean to. I'm a gentleman, after all, and I can't stand seeing a girl cry in front of me."

But despite his words, his eyes gleamed with amusement.

He stroked his chin, continuing to mutter, "I really want to see this in person. A love triangle? How interesting."

Back at the hospital, Charles had just hung up the phone.

Looking up, he saw a woman standing at the door of Diana's room.

She was slim, wearing a plain hoodie, with sunglasses and a mask covering her face, and a hat on her head.

Despite being heavily disguised, Charles recognized her as Stella immediately.

Annoyed, he thought she could have ended things amicably, but now it had come to this, and he had no patience or sympathy left.

Charles pressed his lips together and quickly approached, grabbing her hand just as she was about to knock and pulling her aside.

Stella, initially startled and about to scream, swallowed her cry when she saw his face and whispered, "Charles."

Her voice was sweet and soft, with a slight tremble, evoking pity.

But Charles remained unmoved, pulling her to the stairwell before stopping, "I thought I made myself clear. I hate being pestered."

Stella froze, quickly waving her hands in explanation, "No, I'm not pestering you. I just want to talk calmly. Please, for the sake of the nearly four years we've been together, can you listen to me?"

"That visit to your house was already a chance. And what happened? You weren't satisfied with the contract and even pushed my person into the water."

Luckily, Diana was fine. If anything had happened to her, Charles couldn't guarantee he wouldn't make the White family pay dearly.

Hearing the anger in his voice, Stella shrank back, "I'm sorry, we really know we were wrong."

She pulled out a document from her pocket, the breakup contract Nolan had drafted.

Both Oliver and Stella had signed it, their signatures so heavy they nearly tore the paper.

"I brought the contract."
