Chapter 101 He’s So Easy to Coax, Yet She Doesn’t Bother
After a solid minute, Victoria finally answered, "I care about a lot of people, but you made the top ten."
Alexander looked at her, feeling a bit troubled. How could she be so blunt?
Dylan and Quentin felt sorry for Alexander as his ranking was pretty sad.
Victoria didn't even try to sweet-talk him. Alexander's status seemed shaky, and he needed to work harder to get into her top three.
"So, you can't even tell a white lie?" Alexander sighed, frustrated.
Victoria replied, "Why bother? This is giving you room to improve. Work hard, and you might make the top three."
Alexander was silent.
He couldn't argue; she was the one he adored. What could he do?
He couldn't scold or hit her, so he just accepted it.
"Fine, whatever you say is right," Alexander said.
Though it sounded half-hearted, Victoria didn't mind; she was quite happy.
Dylan and Quentin admired Alexander.
Who would've thought Alexander, so powerful in business, would be a henpecked husband?
They silently gave Victoria a thumbs-up. She was impressive; her words left Alexander no room to argue.
"Honey, you're so good. So it's settled. Ignatius will stay with us for a few days," Victoria decided happily.
Alexander's earlier displeasure vanished when she called him "honey."
He realized he was easy to please. If she just coaxed him a bit, he wouldn't be so frustrated, but she wouldn't.
Seeing her happy made him happy.
If she asked, he'd even give his life for her.
"The apartment only has one bedroom. Where will he stay?" Alexander asked.
After moving in last time, he had turned the second bedroom into a study.
Victoria said, "Simple. Convert the study back into a bedroom."
Unexpectedly, Alexander said, "No, converting it back and forth will disturb the neighbors."
Victoria squinted, confused about why he didn't think of that last time.
"So, you don't want Ignatius to stay with us?" Victoria asked.
Alexander, holding her waist, said, "Let's move back to Serenity Grove Manor."
Victoria was silent.
"You'll have to live there eventually. Might as well be now," he added.
She knew this, of course. She just wasn't used to it yet.
Now that they agreed, living there was fine.
The next day, an hour after she left, Dylan texted her that her things were already at Serenity Grove Manor. She marveled at Dylan's efficiency.
In the office, Wesley knocked and entered.
"Ms. Kennedy, Nolan is here," Wesley said.
"Let him in," Victoria said.
Today was the day she and Nolan were signing the cooperation contract.
Nolan's first words were, "I've seen a lot of news about you lately. I didn't know you were so talented, composing music and all. You're not just a capable CEO but also quite attractive. I'm truly surprised."
Victoria gave him a cold glance and said, "Wow, didn't expect you to lay it on so thick."
Nolan didn't find her words inappropriate; he found her more interesting.
They had only met twice, but those meetings left a deep impression on him.
She was different from any other woman he had met. Her unique, cool, and intelligent demeanor was the most attractive. Her wisdom and courage matched any man in the business world.
"I like straightforward women like you," Nolan said with a smile.
