Chapter 167 I Am the Gift!
At Serenity Grove Manor, after Alexander finished his shower, he found the room empty. Victoria, who said she'd wait for him, was nowhere to be seen.
He threw on his pajamas and bumped into Sawyer as soon as he stepped out of the master bedroom.
"Sawyer, where's Victoria?" Alexander asked.
Sawyer grinned and said, "She went to the storage room on the first floor to open gifts."
Hearing this, Alexander headed for the stairs.
In the storage room, Victoria was sitting cross-legged on a blanket, looking kinda overwhelmed by the mountain of gifts in front of her, but she still started to open them, albeit reluctantly.
She had just opened a few when she felt a warm presence behind her, accompanied by the familiar scent of body wash.
The next second, she was effortlessly lifted and plopped onto Alexander's lap.
Alexander placed his hand on her neck, gently stroking her earlobe with his fingers, and said in a slightly hoarse and dangerous tone, "Avoiding me?"
Victoria rested one hand on his shoulder. "No, I'm just here to open gifts." She pointed to the gifts beside her to prove she wasn't lying.
Alexander sneered, "Opening these gifts is nothing compared to opening mine."
Victoria responded, "You have a gift for me? Where is it? I'll open yours first."
Victoria, dressed in smooth silk pajamas, felt comfy in his arms. Her face was makeup-free, her rosy complexion looked enticing, and her moist lips were tempting to bite.
He was always a man of action, and after all, she was his lawful wife.
His cool lips kissed her.
Victoria didn't resist; she wrapped her other arm around his neck, responding to him.
Alexander wasn't satisfied with just kissing. Between their lips and teeth, he said, "I am the gift."
Victoria, lost in his kiss, took a moment to process his words.
Slowly, Alexander's burning lips kissed down from her eyes.
Suddenly, she felt a slight pain in her neck as Alexander bit and sucked hard on her neck, causing her to let out an uncontrollable, shy moan.
After a while, she felt a chill and instantly became half-awake.
She quickly grabbed Alexander's hand.
Alexander was already aroused. He stopped, moved his lips to her ear, and said in a husky voice that made her blush, "Darling, can you bear to leave me unsatisfied?"
Hearing his alluring voice, Victoria's body trembled uncontrollably.
She could feel his arousal, and she herself was also aroused by him.
She hugged his neck, buried her face in his neck, and shyly said, "Let's go back to the bedroom."
As soon as she finished speaking, Alexander quickly carried her out of the storage room.
In the master bedroom, Alexander's deep eyes were filled with intense desire as he looked at the blushing, shy, and soft Victoria in front of him. Her beautiful eyes were misty with deep emotion.
He leaned close to her ear and said in a low, hoarse voice, "Darling, I love you."
The next day, Victoria woke up feeling sore all over.
She opened her sleepy eyes, stared at the ceiling, and held her waist under the covers. The wild scene from last night played in her mind like a movie.
She muttered, "It really hurts!"
Last night, Alexander was so fierce, so terrifying.
He had kept her up until midnight. If she weren't physically strong, she wouldn't have been able to handle it!
She dawdled until almost eleven before arriving at the office.
Luckily, the weather had turned cold, so she could rock a turtleneck. Her neck was covered with the hickeys Alexander had left last night.
Today, she wore a custom-made misty blue casual suit with a black turtleneck underneath and even swapped her high heels for flats.
Seeing Victoria, Lila said, "Girl, why are you wearing a turtleneck? You hate those things, don't you?"
Victoria coughed lightly and said seriously, "It's cold. I suddenly find turtlenecks quite comfy."
Lila said, "But you always said turtlenecks choke you."
Victoria stayed cool and said, "People change."
Lila wasn't buying it. She knew Victoria too well. Lila suddenly leaned in with a mischievous smile. "Come on, spill the tea. Did you and Alexander really do nothing after you went back last night?"
Victoria stayed silent.
Lila was sharp.
"What could we do? Of course, we opened gifts," Victoria answered.
She wasn't exactly lying; they did open a gift, just a different kind of gift.
Lila, seeing her sincere expression, felt she wasn't lying and sighed, "With such a good vibe last night, you two just opened gifts? What a waste of a perfect evening."
Last night's birthday party wasn't extravagant but was super warm and romantic.
At that moment, Lila was really envious. She hadn't expected someone like Alexander to be so considerate. No wonder he was the most sought-after man in all of Stellaria.
At noon, Victoria got a call from someone in the Kennedy family.
In the afternoon, she leisurely took Kimberly to the Kennedy family's villa.
This was the first time she had returned to the Kennedy family's villa in half a month since cutting ties with them.
She hoped this would be the last time, as nothing good ever came from these visits.
As soon as she entered, she heard Elodie's sharp, mocking voice. "She cares less and less about the Kennedy family. We've been waiting for her for three hours, but she still hasn't shown up."
As soon as Elodie finished speaking, Victoria's cold voice came from behind. "That I'm willing to come is already a sign of respect."
Victoria walked into the hall, not feeling awkward or waiting for them to speak first. She sat down by herself.
After all, they had always seen her as arrogant and disrespectful.
"Okay, I'm here. What do you want this time?" she said coldly, raising her eyebrows slightly.
Oliver, still mindful of the support she had from the Barnes family in Jakarda City, swallowed the harsh words he wanted to say and instead spoke more calmly, though he couldn't hide the disdain in his eyes.
"Did you meet with Mr. Murphy?" Oliver asked.
Victoria slightly pressed her lips and played dumb. "Which Mr. Murphy?"
Today, they intended to retrieve the 30% shares of the Kennedy Group that Victoria held, but Philip Murphy had said it didn't meet the conditions. Victoria had already turned twenty-four, so why didn't it meet the conditions?
He had investigated and found that Victoria had visited the law firm to meet Philip the day before yesterday, so the problem must lie with her. Did she know something?
Seeing her play dumb, he could only suppress his anger and grit his teeth. "Why did you meet with Mr. Murphy the day before yesterday?"
Victoria raised an eyebrow and gave a fake smile. "Don't you know why I went to meet him?"
"You bastard! Did you tamper with something?" Simon shouted.
