Chapter 87 The Relationship Between Ignatius and Victoria

Alexander was genuinely shocked by Victoria's identity. He called Colin and got the scoop on her secret life.

"How do you know Colin?" Victoria asked, confused after hearing his explanation.

Alexander replied, "Vertex Holdings Group sponsors their association every year, so we got to know each other."

Victoria paused. So that's how it was.

"But how did you know I was connected to the piano association?" she asked, puzzled.

Alexander coughed, a bit embarrassed. "I found a music sheet and the association's badge in your room."

Victoria was speechless. She hadn't tidied up her personal stuff since he moved in.

She tentatively asked, "Didn't you ever suspect I plagiarized Clara's music?"

Alexander looked into her eyes and said softly, "Trust is the most important thing between a husband and wife."

That simple sentence made Victoria's heart race.

Life is full of surprises, and Alexander was her best one yet. Even with her rough family history—losing her mom young and having a dad and grandpa who didn't care about her—she had a loving grandma who always had her back.

Meeting Alexander brought a new warmth to her life. She never thought she'd get married and start her own family, given her past. But Alexander gave her a sense of security and warmth. In just a month, he created many memorable moments for her.

"Will we always be together?" she asked, her eyes showing a hint of fear.

Alexander gently rubbed her head and tapped her nose playfully. "What? You wanna divorce me?"

Victoria was silent.

Seeing her not respond, Alexander added, "Who can compare to me? I have money, power, looks, and a good physique. I can cook, prepare your bath, keep the bed warm, and I don't drink. I come home on time every day to be with you. I'm so good; can you bear to abandon me?"

Victoria widened her eyes. Was there anyone who praised themselves like this?

She didn't expect Alexander to be so narcissistic, but he had the right to be.

Victoria placed her hands on his strong arms to keep him from getting closer, smiled, and said playfully, "Your narcissism makes you seem frivolous."

Alexander didn't care. "You haven't answered me yet. Can you bear to abandon me?"

He moved closer, his breath brushing against her skin.

"I won't leave you voluntarily," she said, lowering her eyes and biting her lower lip, "unless you make me leave."

Hearing her say she wouldn't leave him, Alexander's lips curved into a smile, his eyes lighting up with joy. "You said it. You can't leave me, no matter what. Even if you want to, I won't let you."

His tone turned serious. He loved her too much to let her go.

Before she could react, Alexander's fingers gently lifted her chin, and his lips met hers.

One hand gripped her waist to keep her close, while the other pressed against the back of her neck.

They kissed passionately.

"Victoria, you're mine forever, got it?" Alexander said, his forehead resting against hers, his breath heavy.

Victoria, overwhelmed by his kiss, felt her body soften and her mind blur.

She could only instinctively respond.

Their eyes were filled with affection, their breaths mingling. The intimate moment was rising.

But then, a phone rang, breaking the mood.

Victoria answered, and Colin's anxious voice came through. "Victoria, something's wrong. Ignatius is missing."

"What?" Victoria was shocked.

Alexander saw her face turn serious and narrowed his eyes.

Colin continued, "He waited for you all morning. Half an hour ago, I went to meet someone, and when I came back, he was gone. He didn't take his phone. I checked the hotel surveillance and saw him leave."

Victoria stayed calm. "Okay, I got it. Don't worry."

After hanging up, she turned to Alexander. "I need to use your computer."

Alexander followed her as she logged into a system with a flame icon. He watched her expertly open a tracking system.

Victoria saw a red dot on the screen and realized it was at her home.

On the way to North Courtyard, she explained to Alexander, "That was Colin. Ignatius is missing. He's my brother, not by blood. I kinda adopted him."

"How old is he?" Alexander asked.

"Nineteen, but he's different from most people," Victoria replied.

Alexander didn't ask further. When they arrived at North Courtyard, they saw Ignatius squatting under a tree outside the gate.

As soon as Alexander parked, Victoria jumped out before he could turn off the engine.

"Ignatius!" Victoria called.

Ignatius, 5'9", was squatting under the tree, hugging his legs, looking lifeless. But when he heard Victoria's voice, he looked up, saw her running towards him, and his eyes lit up. He stood up happily, like a lost child finding his closest person.

"Victoria." Ignatius hugged her tightly, seeking comfort. "I thought you forgot about me."

Victoria gently patted his back.

Alexander, just getting out of the car, saw them hugging and frowned deeply, feeling a bit unhappy and frustrated. Ignatius must have a death wish, right?
