Chapter 36 Victoria Opens Her Heart
Luckily, Alexander's car was a high-end model.
Victoria only had a minor shock.
Alexander was so stunned he stopped the car in the middle of the road.
Victoria had just said, "Saskia showed me a photo of you completely naked as a child."
That was why Alexander hit the brakes.
"Totally naked. I didn't expect you to be so cute as a kid," Victoria teased, watching him sit frozen in the driver's seat.
Alexander, still in shock, asked, "Really?"
Victoria missed the sly look in his eyes and replied, "Yes, you were a chubby baby."
Alexander, usually so composed, couldn't believe his perfect image was ruined by a baby photo, and his wife had seen it.
Alexander turned to her, his eyes slightly raised, and said, "Then we're even."
Victoria was confused.
"What do you mean?"
Alexander asked, "Did you keep looking?"
Victoria said, "I did."
"What did you see?" Alexander asked calmly.
Victoria, now a bit nervous, said, "Saskia said you've liked me since we were kids?"
Alexander's deep eyes met hers, and he admitted, "Yes."
Victoria was surprised but felt happy inside, though she didn't know why.
"Why? You were only five. Did you even know what 'liking' meant?" Victoria asked.
"Because you were cute," Alexander replied.
He didn't really know either. The first time he saw her wrinkled little face, he didn't mind it. Later, she got cuter, and every time he saw her, he smiled.
Victoria was silent for a moment.
"Saskia also said that when you found out my mom arranged an engagement for me and Lucas, you cried every night, had a bad temper, and refused to eat."
Alexander was silent.
Saskia told her that too?
Victoria asked seriously, "So, Alexander, your feelings for me weren't just a fleeting crush, right?"
Alexander knew she always felt insecure.
Victoria had grown up but lost a lot, making her more sensitive.
Alexander looked at her tenderly, stroked her head, and smiled, "Of course not, it is a long-term affection."
Victoria was briefly stunned and felt like crying for the first time.
"What if I had married Lucas?" Victoria suddenly asked.
He said it was a long-term affection, but he never showed up, and she didn't remember him at all.
Alexander said firmly, "You wouldn't marry Lucas. Even if you agreed, I wouldn't let you. I'd stop the wedding! Who dares to oppose me? Huh?"
Victoria was silent.
It made sense. In all of Stellaria, no one dared to compete with him.
She always thought Alexander's feelings were a fleeting crush, but now she felt her heart open up.
"Seeing you by the lake near the hospital was a coincidence, but I recognized you right away. After that, my grandfather arranged the blind date, and I realized I couldn't wait any longer," Alexander explained.
Their meeting was a coincidence, and he had just returned from a business trip to visit Nathan, who was pretending to be sick.

It was a normal sentence, but coming from Alexander, it made Victoria's heart race.
