Chapter 131 I Changed My Mind!

Three cops walked in, confusing everyone there and the online viewers. Coincidentally, the live stream cut off right then.

A message popped up: [Not suitable for live streaming. Ending now.]]

The viewers were left totally puzzled.

They were dying to know what happened.

A serious-looking male officer scanned the room and asked, "Who is Clara?"

Clara froze when she heard her name.

She didn't dare say a word.

Seeing no one speak, the officer added, "We got a report half an hour ago that Clara committed theft. Please cooperate with our investigation."

Oliver and Simon looked shocked.

Elodie, scared, blurted out, "No way. Sir, you must be mistaken. Clara would never do that. She's always been kind and honest."

Even Lucas, holding Clara, was stunned.

Elodie then glared at Victoria and shouted, "Is it you? You witch! Trying to ruin Clara?"

Simon also stepped up and gently told the officer, "You must be mistaken. Clara wouldn't do that."

The officer, sternly, said, "We have evidence. Clara needs to come with us to verify it."

Clara's hand trembled as she clutched Lucas's clothes.

Lucas gently patted her hand. "It's okay. I'm with you."

Feeling a bit reassured, Clara stepped forward.

Victoria watched coldly the whole time, unfazed by Elodie's insults.

"Hello, I'm her fiancé. I'll go with her," Lucas said, holding Clara's hand.

The officer glanced at him, nodded, and agreed.

Then Clara was taken away.

Julia was already scared and didn't know what to do. The police took Clara, but Victoria was fine.

"Victoria, you witch, trying to ruin Clara? If anything happens to her, I'll never forgive you!" Elodie yelled, furious.

She tried to rush over, but Kimberly stopped her.

"You bastard! I shouldn't have saved you!" Simon couldn't hold back, seeing Clara taken away. After all, she was his daughter.

Victoria didn't care about their words anymore. She felt nothing.

Adrian, who had been silently watching, was shocked by their behavior.

It was too much. What kind of father would insult his daughter like that?

"Mr. Simon Kennedy, no matter what, Victoria is your daughter, right? Objectively, she hasn't done anything wrong. She's just protecting her rights. You shouldn't say such hurtful things to her," Adrian said.

Simon was taken aback by Adrian's questioning, having forgotten he was still there.

Adrian, looking stern, said, "Don't you feel ashamed for doing this to the late Esme?" He then added, "I can't understand how such an amazing woman like her could marry someone as clueless as you."

Simon stayed silent.

Oliver apologized, "Mr. Barnes, sorry you had to witness this mess. This is a private Kennedy family matter, so please stay out of it."

Adrian sneered, "I don't care about your family affairs, but Esme was kind to me. I have a duty to protect her only child! You've already cut ties with her, so leave her alone. Otherwise, the Barnes family will make sure she gets justice!"

The Kennedy family was uneasy about Adrian's words.

Victoria felt deeply touched by Adrian's support and trust.

Strangers often showed her kindness, but her own blood relatives, Oliver and Simon, treated her like an enemy, always harsh.

She had tested her DNA three times, hoping each time it would show she wasn't related to Simon, but it always did.

"Uncle Adrian, thanks for coming today. I can handle the rest myself," she said, smiling slightly at Adrian.

She didn't want to drag anyone else into the Kennedy family's mess. After today, their issues were no longer her concern.

Adrian said, "Alright, if you need anything, let me know. The Barnes family has your back. Don't be afraid."

Victoria replied, "Thank you, I will."

After Adrian left, only Oliver, Simon, Elodie, Victoria, and her people remained in the Kennedy villa hall.

"Honey, we can't let Clara stay in the police station. We have to get her out quickly," Elodie pleaded with Simon, crying.

"Alright, she's my daughter too. I'll save her," Simon said.

Oliver, worried about Victoria's intentions, asked, "What exactly do you want?"

Victoria smiled and said, "It's simple. Give me my mother's belongings, and I might consider dropping the charges. Otherwise, she'll spend a few months in jail."

She emphasized the last part.

Oliver said, "We agreed on a month and a half."

Victoria replied, "I changed my mind!"

Oliver was furious.

Elodie, hearing that Clara might go to jail, panicked. "Dad, just give her what she wants. Clara is your granddaughter. She can't have a criminal record. She has to compete in the perfume competition, and the Kennedy Group's perfume products depend on her."
