Chapter 356 Do You Need My Help?
"Honey, do you need my help?" Victoria asked.
There was no response from inside for a long time.
"Honey, are you okay?" Victoria then deliberately asked again.
Alexander's self-control was so good that she started to doubt herself.
The door was pulled open again from the inside, and the sound of water was still audible.
Victoria unexpectedly locked eyes with Alexander, making the situation incredibly awkward.
"I brought you some clothes. You..." She lifted the clothes she was holding.
Alexander squinted slightly, and before she could finish her sentence, he stretched out his long arm, pulled her in, and she was in his arms.
Victoria shivered instantly; his body felt like ice.
He looked down at her and said, "I really need your help!"
"No, honey." Victoria tried to explain, but Alexander didn't give her a chance.
"You women often say that explaining is just covering up," Alexander replied smoothly, "I know it's not just me who wants it, you want it too."
Victoria blinked and shook her head. "I don't want to have sex."
"Don't bother denying it; you just want to have sex. Otherwise, you wouldn't keep trying to seduce me," he teased.
Victoria was speechless, tilting her head up with wide eyes. She thought, 'When did I ever seduce him?'
Victoria knew she had gone too far and couldn't outtalk him, so she could only act coy. "Honey, I'm cold."
She lowered her voice, soft and gentle, further arousing Alexander. In fact, just having her stand in front of him was enough to excite him.
Alexander closed the bathroom door again.
He pinned Victoria against the wall, staring at her with a wicked smile. "You won't be cold in a moment."
Victoria said, "I'm still not fully healed."
He sneered. "Who was it that just said they were healed and could be discharged?"
Victoria was instantly speechless; she had dug her own grave.
"I..." Before Victoria could finish, Alexander's cold lips silenced her.
The running water and their heartbeats created a unique melody.
But there were always untimely sounds coming from inside.
"You're pressing on my leg wound."
"My back hurts."
"This wall is so cold."
It was a long time before the bathroom door opened again.
Alexander emerged, looking refreshed in a change of clothes, carrying Victoria. Her clothes were a bit disheveled but mostly intact.
After this incident, Victoria understood that joking with Alexander was not something to be taken lightly. She couldn't afford to joke with him. Once was enough.
As soon as Alexander put Victoria on the bed, she asked, "You promised me earlier; you won't go back on your word, right?"
Alexander looked down at her, perhaps in a good mood from earlier, and smiled. "Do you think I'm someone who goes back on his word?"
Victoria answered immediately, "You just said a bunch of things that aren't true."
Alexander deliberately teased her. "What did I say?"
Victoria was about to blurt it out, but seeing the wicked glint in his eyes, she turned away and muttered, "You know yourself."
Alexander chuckled. "Beats me. Remind me?"
She pulled the covers over her head and stubbornly said, "Forget it. By the way, we're going home tonight."
Lying there, Victoria actually fell asleep.
When she woke up, it was already 5 PM.
Victoria opened her sleepy eyes, took a moment to gather herself, and propped herself up in bed, only to find that Alexander was not there.
Suddenly, she remembered Alexander saying she had gained weight when they were in the bathroom at noon. She threw off the covers, looked down at her flat stomach, and pinched her waist. She thought, 'That's strange! It still felt the same as before.'
Suddenly, something clicked. Her gaze shifted, and she frowned slightly. "Alexander, you pervert!"
Since Victoria had just woken up and wasn't fully alert, she didn't notice someone had entered the room.
The people at the door stopped in their tracks when they heard Victoria's words and turned to the calm Alexander.
"What did you do to Victoria?" Caleb's interest was piqued. "Victoria actually called you a pervert alone in the room?"
Owen and Garrett's eyes were also filled with curiosity.
Alexander ignored them and walked in first.
"Awake?" Victoria was still looking down when she heard Alexander's deep voice.
She looked up sharply and saw several people behind Alexander, thinking, 'Did they hear what I just said?'
But they did hear it. Caleb asked, "Victoria, what did Alexander do to you? You actually called him a pervert? No one's ever called him that before."
Caleb's words carried a hint of curiosity and also subtly told Victoria that Alexander had been a good man before meeting her.
Victoria didn't say anything.
"Tell us, we can help you teach him a lesson," Caleb continued.
Owen and Garrett both noticed that Victoria looked embarrassed, but Caleb, still curious, kept asking questions. So, they each gave him a kick from either side.
Caleb frowned. "Why did you two kick me?" He looked back and forth between Owen and Garrett.
The two of them tacitly ignored him.
Victoria didn't respond to Caleb but looked around at everyone and asked seriously, "Are you here to see me discharged?"
At six o'clock, a group of distinguished men walked out of the hospital, attracting countless gazes. Victoria, wrapped in a coat and wearing a mask, was held in Alexander's arms, with only her bright eyes visible.
In the car, Caleb hitched a ride in Alexander's car, sitting in the front passenger seat.
Victoria had just invited them to Serenity Grove Manor to celebrate her discharge and asked Owen to bring Lila along.
"Victoria, you didn't invite Grant," Caleb turned to the back seat.
Victoria paused. "He probably doesn't want to see me."
Caleb replied, "Yeah, seeing you just reminds Grant of Marlowe."
Victoria fell silent.
She hadn't known Caleb for long or spent much time with him, but she knew he was a chatterbox. Unfortunately, he was with two people who weren't. Caleb was about to be bored to death.
Twenty minutes later, Caleb couldn't hold it in anymore.
"How can you two not say a word?" Caleb turned to the couple in the back seat. "Are you like this all the time?"
Victoria silently glanced at him, said nothing, and then looked out the window at nightfall.
Alexander responded, but his words were far from pleasant. "You're being too noisy!"
