Chapter 44 What's the Point of Your Existence?
Ethan's eyes burned into Victoria, like he wanted to drill holes through her.
"'Why?' Why don't you ask yourself what you've done?" he spat, his gaze locked on her.
Victoria's cold eyes narrowed. "For her?"
Ethan exploded, "Victoria, you shouldn't have messed with her. You hurt her, and she almost died because of you!"
Lila finally got it—Ethan was doing all this for Clara, that two-faced snake.
"Ethan, are you nuts?" Lila snapped.
"Clara's not that easy to kill. She's fine now, isn't she? She brought this on herself; Victoria didn't force her! If she dies, she deserves it."
Lila was speechless. Was Ethan's brain fried? How could he be so fooled by Clara?
"Shut up! Who gave you the right to talk about her like that?" Ethan roared, pointing at Lila.
"Lila, close the door," Victoria said calmly.
Lila shut the door and turned on the living room light.
Ethan laughed darkly. As a strong guy, he wasn't scared of these two women.
"Victoria, you should be grateful I'm just giving you a small lesson this time. Next time, I'll make sure you die a horrible death," Ethan threatened.
Victoria's eyes grew colder. "No need, there won't be a next time."
Ethan was momentarily stunned. "What do you mean?"
It was only then that he realized Victoria was terrifying, especially her eyes, which were ice-cold.
Victoria stepped closer, and he instinctively backed away. Just moments ago, he thought he wasn't afraid of these two women, but now he couldn't control his fear.
"Think I won't do anything to you?" Victoria's lips curled into a sinister smile.
Ethan's heart skipped a beat.
Before he could react, Victoria kicked his knee, and he crumpled to the floor in pain. She stomped on his ankle, and he heard bones crack. Then, a sharp pain shot through his scalp.
Victoria grabbed his hair, forcing him to look up. He tried to pry her hand off, but she grabbed his wrist and twisted it until it broke.
Victoria moved with incredible speed and ruthlessness, leaving him no time to react. His wrists went limp, and excruciating pain spread through his body, making him sweat profusely.
She slammed his head against the wooden table twice. Ethan felt dizzy, like his entire skeleton had been disassembled.
Lila watched coldly from the door, feeling the pain just by looking.
Victoria's moves were fast, precise, and ruthless.
"Victoria, if you have the guts, kill me!" Ethan, despite his pain and fear, still tried to act tough.
Victoria released his head and grabbed his throat, her cold eyes staring at him. She sneered, "Death would be too easy. I want to make your life a living hell."
Ethan shivered, his pupils dilating. Victoria was terrifying.
"Be grateful there are people living downstairs. Otherwise, you'd be suffering more than just these minor injuries," Victoria said, her eyes narrowing.
She had been casually breaking and twisting his limbs without making much noise.
Ethan hadn't expected Victoria, who looked so frail, to be so strong and quick.
Victoria laughed, looking at him with pity. "Ethan, is it worth it to do all this for her? She only loves Lucas, and you don't even dare to show up in front of her."
She glanced around his shabby apartment. "For a woman who doesn't love you, you gave up your education, career, and future. Do you think you deserve your parents who gave you life and raised you?"
"Ethan, if the fire and your three years in prison weren't enough to make you see her true colors, then you're truly pathetic. What's the point of you living?" Victoria continued to say.
Victoria released his throat and threw him to the floor.
Ethan fell into a flashback of past memories because of Victoria's words.
