Chapter 106 Alexander's Absence Causes Victoria's Insomnia

When they got to Serenity Grove Manor, it was seven sharp.

Victoria had never been there before, only heard about it. Seeing it in person, she thought it was stunning.

Butler Sawyer Bennett and a bunch of servants were already waiting outside. Victoria was a bit taken aback. Wasn't this over the top?

Ignatius got out of the car and stayed close to Victoria, which kept him calm. But even he was surprised by the number of servants.

Sawyer recognized Victoria from photos and her distinct noble and elegant vibe. He stepped forward and said, "Mrs. Howard, welcome home."

The group behind him echoed, "Mrs. Howard, welcome home!"

Victoria was speechless. She'd never been treated like this, almost like royalty. She felt a bit lost.

She cleared her throat, smiled at Sawyer, and said, "Are you Sawyer?"

"Yes," he replied.

"Please have everyone go back to their duties. No need to stand here; it must be tiring."

"Alright." Sawyer nodded and told everyone to return to their posts.

After the crowd left, Sawyer said, "Mrs. Howard, the rooms are ready. You and Ignatius can have dinner first."

"Thank you," Victoria said with a smile.

Sawyer was pleased with her grace. He'd served Alexander for over a decade and rarely saw a hostess move in. This time, it finally happened, making his long-time wish come true.

"Mrs. Howard, the maids you saw are new, just a month in," Sawyer explained as he led the way. "Before, it was just the chef Molly and Kimberly, who picked you up. The rest were male staff."

Victoria listened carefully. She knew Alexander had arranged all this after their marriage. He was thoughtful, making her feel touched.

After dinner, she spent some time with Ignatius before sending him to bed. It was too late to tour the manor, so she'd do that later. She was frustrated because it was nine o'clock, and she still hadn't heard from Alexander.

She went to the master bedroom, which Sawyer said was Alexander's usual room. It was large and surprisingly cozy, filled with her belongings and Alexander's scent, making her feel secure.

On the balcony, there was a hanging chair and a small coffee table, clearly new. Alexander wouldn't have such things in his room.

The room's decor showed great attention to detail, arranged according to her preferences. Even when Alexander was away, he made her feel like he was right there.

Alexander was like a drug, making her more addicted and dependent on him.

After standing for a while, she went to the closet for her pajamas. Opening the door, she marveled at the clothes worth millions, all custom-made and some limited editions. There were also branded bags, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. Her stuff took up more than half the space, with the rest being Alexander's. The closet was huge.

By the time she finished her bath, it was almost ten. She lay on the bed, hugging the blanket with Alexander's scent, and stared blankly until eleven, unable to sleep.

She picked up her phone and checked it, still no messages. Suddenly, a roar came from outside the window.
