Chapter 286 Yes, Sir!

When Alexander showed up next to Victoria, everyone had already noticed her.

They all remained seated, attentively observing the commotion surrounding Victoria.

The recent gossip about them had been pretty juicy, mostly because they were both super attractive.

As Alexander got closer, Clara straightened up, trying to look all elegant and graceful. But Alexander didn't even glance her way, not even a little.

His last comment didn't really fit his role as the big boss of Vertex Holdings Group.

While he looked at Victoria with soft eyes, his overall vibe was cold and distant.

Clara gathered her courage and was about to say hi. "Mr. Howard, hello, I am..."

Before she could finish, she was stunned by Alexander's icy stare.

In a low, chilling voice, Alexander said, "I don't care who you are!"

Clara stumbled, almost twisting her ankle.

Her words got stuck, and her thoughts were buried deep inside.

Alexander's presence was just too intense and cold.

His gaze was so frosty that Clara felt like she was frozen in place.

Victoria stood by quietly, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

A smile played on her red lips, and she let out a teasing laugh. "Looks like you're not too happy with this jealous rival."

A bold thought crossed the minds of the gossiping onlookers: So, even the cold and aloof Alexander got jealous, no matter the gender?

This was love; jealousy came from love, no matter who the other person was.

When Alexander looked at Victoria, his brow lifted slightly, and the coldness in his eyes quickly turned to warmth. "You get me," he said, perfectly matching her.

Clara's face went pale instantly.

Everyone got a bit excited.

They couldn't help but feel that their interaction was so heartwarming!

Meanwhile, someone recognized Clara.

They quickly picked up on Clara's intentions.

Someone mocked, "Clara is so shameless, trying to mess with someone else's husband."

The voice wasn't loud, but it was enough for everyone in the quiet café to hear.

Clara shot a sharp look at the speaker, who met her eyes fearlessly, not scared at all.

But Alexander's face instantly darkened.

In the next second, he looked somewhat aggrieved at Victoria. "Aren't you going to do something?"

Was Alexander asking Victoria to help chase away the pursuer?

Everyone expected Victoria to lash out at Clara next. Many knew about some of the Kennedy family issues and knew that Victoria was a beautiful and sassy woman who wouldn't care if Clara was family. After all, no one would accept a family member with such ulterior motives, especially one trying to mess with their husband.

But Victoria always had a knack for surprising people.

She looked at Alexander with a light smile and asked casually, "Between an amazing me and an ordinary woman, who would you choose?"

Alexander didn't even blink. "Only you."

No matter how much Clara felt jealous and unwilling, she had to suck it up.

Her hands, which should've been relaxed at her sides, were clenched into tight fists. Her cheeks were tense and slightly trembling, though she didn't realize it.

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to hide your feelings, your body gives you away.

Feeling humiliated, Clara quickly grabbed her bag and bolted out of there.

On the way back to Vertex Holdings Group, Alexander held Victoria's hand as they walked side by side.

Dylan and Marcus trailed behind them silently.

A few minutes ago, Alexander had suddenly left the office without a word, making them think something had happened to Victoria again. To their surprise, it turned out like this.

They were speechless but couldn't say anything.

Alexander suddenly asked, "What did she want from you?"

Victoria paused, not planning to hide anything from him, and recounted Clara's visit.

Clara had only asked her to come alone but hadn't said she couldn't tell anyone.

Besides, Alexander was her husband, the person she trusted. She had promised him she wouldn't hide anything from him.

Hearing this, Alexander frowned slightly. It was clearly a trap, but he also knew Victoria would definitely go.

As long as there was a one percent chance, she would go. Clara had indeed found her weak spot.

But Clara probably didn't expect Victoria to tell him about it.

With him there, he could ensure her safety.

Alexander didn't stop her, continuing to support her in doing what she wanted. "Remember to have Kimberly and Matthew follow you."

He truly kept his promise to her. He had said that no matter what she wanted to do, he would support her.

Victoria was about to speak when he sternly interrupted her, "I have only one requirement: you must not get hurt, not even a scratch!"

She looked up at him with a blooming smile and playfully agreed, "Yes, sir." It was a stark contrast to her usual cold demeanor.

Dylan and Marcus, watching from behind, were already used to it. Victoria only showed this side of herself when facing Alexander.

Alexander and Victoria walked hand in hand into Vertex Holdings Group, took the exclusive elevator to the top floor, where someone was waiting.

Quentin watched as Alexander hurried out and brought Victoria back. What was going on?

He decided to set gossip aside, as he had serious business to discuss.
