Chapter 124 What Trouble Have I Caused?

The Kennedy family expected Victoria to come to them, but after waiting for hours, she didn't react or ask questions, like she didn't know what was going on.

This was exactly what Oliver wanted; her calmness saved them a lot of hassle.

But Clara wasn't happy about it.

She thought Victoria should be miserable and helpless, but Victoria acted like nothing happened, which really annoyed Clara.

In the afternoon, Victoria got a call from the Kennedy family asking her to come back the next day, and she agreed without hesitation.

Then she got a call from Howard Villa, which puzzled her at first, but she quickly realized it was about the news.

"Victoria," Saskia's gentle voice came through.

"Mom," she replied sweetly.

"Preston, Nathan, and I saw the news. Do you need our help?" Saskia asked. They wanted to check with her first, not wanting to make things worse.

Victoria felt touched; at least they respected her.

"Thanks, Mom. I'm fine. Don't worry, I can handle this," Victoria said.

"We're family. Remember, the whole Howard family is behind you. Don't be afraid," Saskia reassured her. "And with Alexander around, the Barnes family doesn't scare us."

Victoria didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

This was so different from the cold Kennedy family.

Sometimes, non-blood-related ties are stronger than blood relations, and this was a perfect example.

"Got it," Victoria replied.

After hanging up, Nathan asked, "How did it go? What did Victoria say?"

Saskia, still worried, said, "She said she could handle it and told us not to worry."

Nathan nodded. "Alright, let's trust Victoria. She's got this."

Saskia was uneasy. "Dad, what if Victoria gets bullied? Should we really do nothing? Alexander isn't in Ridgewood; we need to help her."

Preston chimed in, "This time, I agree with Dad."

Saskia glared at him, and he fell silent.

"Saskia, I know you're worried, but Victoria's not one to stay silent. Remember what happened last time at the Howard family? Since she said she's got it, let's wait and see," Nathan said knowingly. "Do you think Alexander doesn't know? He probably knows more than us and has his own plans."

That evening, Victoria had a normal phone call with Alexander, and neither mentioned the day's events.

"When are you coming back?" Victoria asked.

"In two days, I'll be done here," Alexander replied.

His gentle, deep voice made Victoria feel secure, and the day's troubles faded away.

"Okay, I'll wait for you," Victoria said with a smile.

Alexander didn't hang up until he heard her even breathing, knowing she had fallen asleep.

The next day, Victoria arrived at the Kennedy family's villa at ten o'clock.

"I'm here. What do you want?" she asked bluntly as soon as she walked in.

Clara looked at her calm demeanor, unaffected by being kicked out, and glared at her viciously.

Victoria glanced at her indifferently, with a slight smirk, as if silently provoking her.

Oliver got straight to the point, as this was about the Kennedy family's situation.

"You caused this, so you should bear the consequences. Don't blame us for being heartless!" Oliver said.

She looked at him amused and asked, "What do you mean I caused this? What did I do?"

The Kennedy family members were stunned. What did she mean by that?
