Chapter 267 Victoria's Emotional Changes

After a moment, Arnold looked up at her and finally spoke, "Something happened to George."

Victoria's eyes widened, the light in them dimming, and her body started to shake.

Arnold continued, "Half a month ago, he came to see me, but that very night on his way back, he got ambushed. On a hurried trip, he only had two people with him, a driver and a bodyguard. But there were over twenty attackers, all armed."

Arnold added, "When we got there, we only found the bodies of the driver and the bodyguard, but not Geoge's. To this day, no one knows if he's alive or dead. The York Royal Family has kept George's disappearance under wraps. No one knows he's missing."

When Arnold finished, Victoria's face darkened, her once bright eyes now cold and hard.

She clenched her fists tightly, trying to keep her anger in check.

"Who did it?" she asked through gritted teeth, her voice icy.

Arnold glanced at her, then reached into his pocket and placed a coin-sized emblem on the table. "We found this at the scene. They probably left it on purpose."

Victoria took one look at it, her brows furrowing tightly, the coldness in her eyes growing.

She knew this emblem all too well. A fierce, sinister killing intent flashed in her eyes. They actually dared to show up again.

Victoria asked gruffly, "Do they all know?"

Arnold saw her struggling to contain her pain and anger. For a moment, he regretted telling her. But if he hadn't, she would have found out eventually and might have resented him for not telling her.

He shook his head, "No, only Cedric Astor and I know about George's incident."

The living room was silent for a long time.

Victoria didn't respond, her cold eyes revealing a calm and unruffled demeanor.

Those who knew her well would understand that the quieter she seemed, the more intense her emotions were. She was just good at hiding them.

"Cedric and I have been tracking them for over a month with no progress. Since that incident, they've become even more secretive." He paused, a hint of worry in his eyes. "Vicky, their next target might be you. After all, you and George destroyed their base back then."

"I know." Her voice was cold, devoid of any discernible emotion.

Arnold said in a worried tone, "Vicky, I'm telling you this not so you can take risks, you know that?" Arnold was still a bit uneasy.

Arnold knew what George meant to her. He feared she might act impulsively and irrationally.

"Arnold, don't worry. I jump to irrational decisions, nor will I do anything I'm not confident about." She gave him a reassuring look.

Her eyes held emotions that others couldn't decipher. She continued, "Since they took George, they won't kill him easily. Tell Cedric not to worry, and you both could use a break and stop investigating them."

Arnold listened to her confident tone, still feeling puzzled. He had always had one question, "Vicky, what exactly happened back then with the three of you?"

The 103 base was completely destroyed. Three went in, two came out, one severely injured, one lightly injured.

After that, Victoria left Aidamore, and they all returned to their respective family territories.

But what exactly happened during the explosion at the 103 base, only George and Vicky knew. Neither spoke a word about it after returning.

When Alexander came out of the study, only Victoria was left sitting in the living room, lost in thought.

Alexander was very perceptive. As soon as he approached her, he sensed the sudden change in her aura. He frowned slightly but quickly relaxed.

Alexander naturally and affectionately sat beside her, wrapped his arm around her slender waist, and with a slight force, pulled Victoria onto his lap.

His fingers gently pinched her chin, lifting it, and he stared at her with a dangerous look, lowering his head to lightly bite her lip.

She moaned in pain.

"Are you reluctant to see Arnold leave?" Alexander's deep, magnetic voice sounded in her ear. He deliberately lowered his tone and dragging out the words with a sarcastic edge.

She glared at him and snapped, "Haven't you done yet?"

Alexander asked, "Fine, then tell me, what are you thinking about? You seem distracted."

He gently rubbed her delicate skin with his thumb, his eyes fixed on her soft red lips.

She mumbled, "I was thinking about whether to tell Grant Marlowe's whereabouts."

Alexander raised an eyebrow, "That's it?"

She blinked, her emotions already reined in, looking perfectly normal, "Yeah, Grant seemed pretty anxious." She paused, thought for a moment, and asked, "Has Grant ever been this frustrated before?"

When Grant left Serenity Grove Manor, his face was already very livid.

Alexander cooperated with her, seriously thinking for a few seconds, "Probably not. You're the first person to frustrate him."

She smiled, "Then I must be pretty impressive."

What she didn't know was that her smile looked very forced to Alexander.

Alexander could detect any slight change in her emotions.

She had clearly changed the subject on purpose, diverting it to Grant and Marlowe.

Just an hour ago, she was adamant about keeping Marlowe's location from Grant, and now she had changed her mind. That was impossible. That wasn't like her.

So, what exactly did Arnold talk to her about?
