Chapter 418 Crying is Useless

Thomas looked at Winter. "Winter, contact Marigold and keep track of your boss's location at all times."

Winter replied, "Yes, Mr. Taylor."

They were all members of the O Alliance, and each member had a micro-tracker on them. It was made of special materials that regular detection machines couldn't detect.

This was to prevent any accidents when O Alliance members were out on missions, so their people could locate and rescue them in time.

Kimberly didn't know who the people around Victoria these past few days were.

But she knew Thomas's identity, so she instinctively thought they were Thomas's people.

Now, hearing Thomas talking to Winter, she realized Winter and the others were actually Victoria's people.

Suddenly, she remembered what happened in the Underworld Specter in Country M.

There, she learned that Victoria was the mysterious leader of the O Alliance.

So, they were all O Alliance members.

She had another question: what was the 103 organization?

She had never heard of it.

But an organization that trafficked children couldn't be good people.

Shouldn't this kind of thing be handled by the police?

Why was Victoria involved?

Have the leaders of the O Alliance and Heaven's Net expanded their operations to rescuing trafficked children?

Kimberly had too many questions.

But now wasn't the time to ask.

Victoria brought only Eugene because having all five would attract too much attention, and Eugene was the most skilled.

Along the way, the two left special marks.

They had been following for about an hour and still hadn't reached their destination.

Eugene whispered, "Ms. Kennedy, this place is too far. Those kids definitely can't handle such a long journey."

As soon as he finished speaking, they heard intermittent crying and a man's rough scolding ahead.

"Stop crying! If anyone cries again, I'll throw them into the deep mountains and feed them to the tigers!" the man shouted.

The ones crying were mostly very young and scared out of their wits.

Some stopped crying out of fear, while others cried even harder.

The only girl among the ten cried the loudest, her sharp voice repeating, "I want my mom. I'm scared," sending shivers down everyone's spine.

In the dead of night, the pitch-black forest was filled with the rustling of leaves and the occasional chirping of insects, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

One of the men lost his patience and snapped, "Shut up, you brat! We shouldn't have taken the tape off. Your crying is driving me nuts! If you cry again, I'll feed you to the wolves!"

Terrified by the fierce-looking man pointing at her, the little girl stopped screaming, but her tears kept flowing. Her big, round eyes were filled with fear as she sobbed.

A boy standing behind her, slightly taller than her, finally couldn't stand it and stepped forward to comfort her, "Stop crying. It won't do any good. Even if you scream your lungs out, they won't let you go. Save your energy."

The boy didn't know what to say to comfort her, so he just spoke from his instincts. He didn't know if it would comfort her.

The little girl sobbed and turned her head, looking at the boy who was a head taller than her through a sliver of light.

She pouted and said with a sob, "I miss my mom."

The boy pursed his lips and looked at the others. "Who here doesn't miss their family? You have to believe they will find us."

Cecil glanced at the boy in the plaid shirt, a look of admiration flashing in his eyes.

In this situation, the boy could still say such things.

And among the children, he was the calmest.

He didn't seem like a seven or eight-year-old child.

He shone his flashlight at the boy a few times.

The boy instinctively closed his eyes.

"You're the most clear-headed here." He said with a malicious smile. "Don't worry; As long as you behave, I'll keep you safe."

The boy just looked at him and didn't speak.

Under the boy's straightforward comfort, the little girl's emotions gradually stabilized.

The group continued to move in the dark.

After about another hour and a half, they finally stopped.

Victoria and Eugene used the cover of night to climb a big tree and hid there, where they had a good view.

They watched the faint light in the distance and saw the group stop outside a cave.

As for their conversation, the distance was too far this time, so they couldn't hear it.

But Victoria could read lips.

"Mr. Marshall, we've arrived," one of Cecil's subordinates said.

Cecil turned to two of his subordinates, Lloyd Wallace and Vincent Woods, and said, "Stay outside. The rest of you, come with me and bring the children inside."

The two assigned to guard duty responded, "Yes, Mr. Marshall."

Victoria squinted her eyes. It seemed they could only follow this far.

With people guarding outside, they couldn't alert them because they didn't know what the situation inside was like.

It was too dark at night to see the terrain clearly.

And she wasn't familiar with this place, so she couldn't find another route to sneak in.

She glanced at Eugene beside her and signaled him. The two quickly and skillfully climbed down.

"Victoria, what's wrong?" Eugene asked.

"They have people guarding outside. We can't follow them in, and we don't know the situation inside." Victoria explained briefly.

"You stay up there and keep watch. If anything happens, let me know immediately."

Eugene nodded and asked, "What about you?"

"I'm going to check it out," She said.

Eugene replied, "How about I go, and you stay here to keep watch."

Victoria refused without thinking. After all, he hadn't dealt with the 103 organization, but she had.

"No, you stay here." Her tone was firm and serious.

Then she raised her wrist and looked at the time on her watch, "If I don't come back in two hours, follow the marks I left along the way to find me."

Eugene said reluctantly, "Okay, I got it."

He watched Victoria's slender figure disappear from his sight before climbing back up the big tree.

Victoria used the position of the moon to determine the direction and moved swiftly through the forest.

She hadn't brought any tools this time, mainly because she hadn't expected them to take the people up the mountain.

Fortunately, she had been eager to learn before and had picked up a bit of everything.

That was enough.

Inside the cave, a large amount of food and water was stored, clearly indicating premeditation.

"You two, untie them," Cecil commanded.

"Yes, Mr. Marshall."

After untying them, they gave them food and water.

The children were already hungry and thirsty. Seeing food and water, their eyes lit up, and they rushed to grab it.

Only the boy in the plaid shirt didn't move.

The little girl, who had gradually come to rely on him after his comfort and companionship, stood there. She wanted to go get some because she was hungry too.

But seeing the boy not move, she didn't move either.

She looked longingly at the others grabbing food and then turned to the boy. "Why aren't you getting any?"

The boy glanced at her. "Who knows if they've poisoned it."

The little girl, with her big round eyes, didn't quite understand what he meant.

Cecil, on the other hand, burst into laughter.
