Chapter 382 The Sullivan Family of North City

Victoria stopped talking mid-sentence.

Grant, who had just started to relax upon hearing that she was willing to reveal Marlowe's whereabouts, furrowed his brows again.

He asked in a low voice, "But what?"

Victoria coughed lightly, touched her nose somewhat embarrassedly, and said, "Grant, you're too late."

Grant's brows furrowed even tighter.

What did she mean by that?

At this moment, Alexander instinctively walked over to Victoria, slightly shielding her by his side while holding one of her hands.

Before Victoria could speak, he spoke for her, "Grant, Marlowe left Rihegde just yesterday. But this has nothing to do with Victoria; Marlowe told her after she had already left, and she intended to tell you but didn't have the chance."

"What did you just say?" Grant squinted, his deep eyes glinting with a cold light. And his tone instantly turned extremely cold.

Alexander repeated calmly, "Marlowe has left Rihegde, and this time, not only do you not know where she is, none of us do."

Grant seemed on the verge of exploding, and no one expected this sudden turn of events.

Alexander said, "But I did some checking. You might want to look for someone named Elliot Sullivan. He was the only person Marlowe contacted before she left."

Victoria glanced at Alexander's profile. When did he investigate all this?

A warm feeling suddenly washed over her.

Grant left in a fury.

Caleb called after him a few times, but he ignored it, striding out of the shooting range.

"Should we check on Grant? What if he hurts himself?" Caleb asked.

Garrett gave him a meaningful look. "If you dare to go, I'll go with you."

Caleb shook his head timidly. "Forget it."

Kevin was waiting at the club.

He thought Grant would surely win this time and was ready to bring Marlowe home, but things didn't go as expected.

"Mr. Scott. What happened?" Kevin forced himself to step forward, trembling as he asked.

He felt like he was on the edge of a cliff, walking on thin ice, with his feet on sharp blades.

One wrong move, and he might face unemployment.

Grant, with a displeased and stern face, said in an icy tone., "In ten minutes, I want Elliot's location!"

Kevin was dumbfounded.

Who was Elliot?

Weren't they looking for Marlowe?

What did Marlowe have to do with this Elliot?

He couldn't recall anyone named Elliot in Marlowe's circle.

In a few seconds, a flood of questions arose in his mind.

A good assistant needed quick reflexes, so he only paused for a few seconds before figuring it out. "Yes, Mr. Scott."

"When did you investigate this?" Victoria asked Alexander.

Alexander replied, "I didn't specifically investigate, just had someone keep an eye out."

"Do you know where Marlowe is?" she asked.

Alexander replied, "I really don't know."

"Then who is Elliot?"

"The head of the Sullivan Family in North City."

Marlowe knew someone from the Sullivan Family in North City? No wonder she didn't need her help.

It seemed Grant didn't have it easy this time either.

Meanwhile,  in a picturesque small town, Marlowe was sitting in a vintage-style house, making a phone call. "Elliot, I just asked you to find me a place to stay, and you found me a mansion. I don't need such a big place for just myself."

When Marlowe arrived, she thought she had the wrong place.

But after checking the address several times, it was correct.

A gentle, deep, magnetic male voice came from the other end, "Isn't there a housekeeper with you?"

"But I still don't need such a big place."

"When the baby in your belly is born, they'll need space to play."

Marlowe fell silent.

Elliot said, "Alright, don't be so polite with me. If you keep being polite, it feels like we're strangers. You didn't let me take you there, which already makes me uneasy. Consider this my compensation."

Marlowe chuckled. "Alright, I will stay here for now. Once I have a stable job, I'll pay you rent."

She looked around the courtyard and muttered, "But I'll only pay for a two-bedroom apartment. I can't afford more."

Elliot laughed. "Alright, whatever you say."

They chatted a bit more.

"Mr. Scott, I've found out. Elliot is the 30-year-old, unmarried head of the Sullivan Family in North City," Kevin reported.

Elliot's status in North City was top-tier.

Just like Alexander in Rihegde and Grant in Jakarda City.

But his actual capabilities still needed to be assessed.

Elliot's love life was as nonexistent as that of Grant's friend Alexander. By the time Elliot turned thirty, he was still single, had no dating history, and rarely interacted with women. Almost all his friends were men.

But how did Marlowe know Elliot?

Kevin couldn't find out.
