Chapter 297 A Chance Encounter
This was what caught Nancy's eye.
Victoria raised an eyebrow. She trusted Nancy's instincts. Spotting this detail would be tough for anyone with the constant flow of people every day.
Plus, on a film set, most folks would just think they were fans of the actors.
Victoria said, "Got it. Don't tip them off just yet."
Nancy didn't know what Victoria was planning, but she always followed Victoria's lead.
Victoria asked, "Where's Virgil? Haven't seen him around."
Nancy replied, "Bryan called him away. He said he'd be back later."
"Is Bryan in Rihegde?" Victoria asked.
Nancy shrugged, "He didn't say, but it sounded like he might be."
Victoria's almond-shaped eyes narrowed a bit. 'Weird that Bryan's in Rihegde and didn't hit me up,' she thought.
Nancy suddenly remembered a video she saw this morning and looked at Victoria curiously. "Victoria, when did you start raising a tiger?"
Victoria was quiet for a moment.
She looked at Nancy. "I thought you weren't into entertainment news?"
Nancy was usually pretty strict and no-nonsense; she never wasted time on her phone, let alone scrolling through Instagram.
Nancy quickly said, "Bella showed it to me."
Then she added, "Victoria, I wanna see that tiger."
Victoria was silent.
Why did everyone want to see Caesar? First Lila, now Nancy, weren't they scared?
Just then, Sarah finished her scene and turned around to see Victoria standing under a pavilion not far away. Overjoyed, she waved at Victoria.
Then she ran over, with Harrington trailing behind.
Everyone on the crew knew Victoria. The video from this morning was quite the shocker.
It was hard to imagine such a beautiful woman raising a tiger. And that tiger was pure white, super rare.
Sarah said excitedly, "Hey, what brings you here?"
She invariably embraced Victoria whenever they met, leaving Victoria with no choice but to catch her.
Good thing Alexander wasn't here, or Sarah would be yanked away in a second. No, Sarah wouldn't even get close to Victoria.
After steadying Sarah, Victoria looked at her with a faint smile. "Just came to see you."
They chatted for a bit before Harrington slowly walked over.
Harrington greeted warmly, "Victoria, long time no see."
Victoria replied, "Long time no see."
Actually, she had been to the set before, but he was always away each time.
Then Victoria heard Harrington gossip about her for the first time.
He asked, "I saw online that you have a tiger?"
Before she could answer, Sarah excitedly jumped in, "Yeah, I saw it too. When did you get it? How come I didn't know?"
Victoria cleared her throat. "Actually, Alexander raised it, not me."
She didn't have the time or energy to raise a tiger.
Sarah immediately asked, "Can I go see it?"
Victoria's eye twitched slightly.
This was the third person to ask that today.
'Is it really that fascinating?' Victoria wondered.
She could get why the first two were bold, but Sarah had always been a bit of a scaredy-cat.
Victoria asked, "Aren't you afraid of big animals?"
Sarah replied, "But it looked so gentle in the video."
Caesar was anything but gentle; even Victoria was freaked out by it on the first day.
It only seemed gentle around Alexander and her.
Before Victoria could respond, Sarah added, "As long as you're there, I'm not scared."
Victoria turned her gaze to Harrington. "Harrington, you don't want to see it too, do you?"
Harrington smiled, "Nah, I'm just curious. Not many people have such big pets."
Victoria also smiled.
After chatting for a bit, Harrington got called away by his assistant; he had to get to the next scene.
Sarah's scenes for the day were done, so she could leave early.
The three of them felt comfortable chatting because the crew generally didn't allow outsiders in. Everyone there was part of the crew and knew their relationships, so no one gossiped.
After Sarah changed clothes, she and Victoria left the set.
In the car, Sarah remembered something.
Sitting in the passenger seat, she turned slightly to look at Victoria. "Hey, will you come with me to buy a gift?"
Without thinking, Victoria said, "For Seraphim's birthday?"
Sarah admitted openly, "Yeah, he's taken care of me for so long. I have to get him a birthday gift. It wouldn't be right otherwise."
Victoria asked, "Are you sure it's just because he took care of you?"
Sarah pondered for a few seconds before firmly saying, "Yes, absolutely sure!"
Victoria smiled and said nothing, then she turned at the next intersection towards Infinity Mall.
She didn't think it was her place to meddle in their matters.
Sarah was stubborn, and Seraphim was silently devoted.
In the underground parking lot of Infinity Mall, after Victoria parked the car, Sarah was already fully disguised. Except for her eyes and ears, everything else was covered.
Luckily, it was winter, so it wasn't too hot.
Sarah held Victoria's arm as they walked towards the elevator, followed by Nancy and Sarah's assistant, Bella.
As soon as they stepped into the elevator, they were stunned, especially Sarah.
Victoria quickly looked at Sarah, noticing that Sarah's grip on her arm was trembling.
Victoria didn't expect to run into them here.
"It's okay. I'm here," Victoria whispered, patting Sarah's hand.
Just then, Julia saw a familiar figure reflected in the elevator door and turned around.
Julia's perfectly made-up face instantly fell. "It's you, Victoria!"
Victoria didn't bother to respond, glancing at her before looking away.
The woman standing next to Julia also turned her head, glancing at the motionless Victoria and Sarah.
The next second, the woman beside Julia slightly furrowed her brows. Those eyes looked familiar.
The woman beside Julia asked gently, "Julia, is this your friend?"
