Chapter 157 Kimberly is Missing

Morning sunlight streamed through the window, lighting up the hotel's white sheets. A faint noise broke the peace.

Victoria woke up with a start, recognizing the sound.

Alexander was gone, but the bed was still warm where he had been.

She sat up, cross-legged, her expression turning serious.

Were those gunshots?

If she wasn't imagining things, there had been two shots outside the door.

Now, it was eerily quiet.

Just as she was wondering, Alexander walked in, looking sharp and elegant.

"You're awake," he said warmly. "Let's have breakfast."

He walked over and brushed a stray hair from her forehead.

Victoria looked at him, her voice still groggy. "What happened at the door?"

Her tone was firm.

Alexander was a bit surprised, his eyes darkening slightly. He hadn't expected her to hear that.

He smiled and said calmly, "Nothing, just someone who shouldn't have been here."

Victoria blinked and nodded faintly.

She wasn't one to pry.

If Alexander said it was someone who shouldn't be there, she accepted it. She wasn't exactly soft-hearted.

After breakfast in the living room, Dylan walked in looking grim. "Kimberly is missing."

Dylan had been waiting for Kimberly. As a well-trained assistant, she wouldn't oversleep. He went to her room, got no response, and used a key from the manager to enter. She wasn't there, but he noticed a faint scent.

He tried to contact her but failed, realizing something was wrong.

"What happened?" Victoria asked first.

Dylan quickly explained.

Victoria's eyes narrowed, lips pressed together.

With Kimberly's skills, she wouldn't be taken unless she let her guard down. A stranger couldn't make her drop her guard unless she felt safe.

Plus, Kimberly was just one of Alexander's subordinates. No one would be foolish enough to use her to threaten him.

Alexander, sitting beside her, reassured her, "It's okay. Don't worry. Even if Kimberly was taken, she won't suffer."

He had great confidence in his well-trained subordinates.

Otherwise, Kimberly wouldn't be one of his top five assistants.

At the Underworld Specter, Craig looked at the unfamiliar Kimberly and kicked the subordinate who brought her, sending him flying.

The man got up slowly, half-kneeling, clutching his side in pain.

Craig's angry voice boomed, "I said bring Carol! Who the hell is this? Tryna screw me? You got a death wish?"

Craig had been hunting for Victoria for two days, but since she left Underworld Specter, she seemed to have vanished.

Finally, he got a lead, but his goons brought back someone he didn't recognize.

She took six billion dollars from him; no way he was letting that slide.

Kimberly woke up, watching Craig throw a fit. She hadn't offended him, right?

Working for Alexander, she often made enemies, but she never left loose ends.

From what Craig said, it seemed like a mistake.

But she didn't have a forgettable face; how could they mess this up?

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and thought back to how she got caught.

Being around Alexander, they were always on high alert. She didn't think she missed anything.

Except for the faint scent in her room last night, which she ignored because every hotel had those air fresheners.

This time, she slipped up.

A trembling voice broke her thoughts. "Craig, she knows the woman from that night." The man who got kicked pointed at Kimberly. "We can't get close to that woman, so we brought her subordinate. She'll definitely come to save her."

Craig's lips twitched, and he rolled his eyes. "Why can't you say everything at once!"

The man clutched his chest, looking hurt, thinking, 'You didn't give me a chance to finish!'

Craig then focused on Kimberly. Her face wasn't stunning, but her features made her a beauty. Her shoulder-length hair and cold, sharp eyes were attractive, but she was no match for Victoria. Victoria was stunning at first glance.

With a wicked smile, Craig's eyes flashed with danger as he stared at her, his tone cold. "Miss, are you also from the O Alliance?"

Kimberly's face stayed cold. She had been with Victoria these days, never with anyone else.

So, they were looking for Victoria, not her.

But what was the O Alliance?

Did Victoria have a connection with the O Alliance?

People around Alexander weren't dumb. From their brief conversation, Kimberly quickly picked up the key points.

Kimberly didn't flinch. She raised her head, meeting his gaze without fear. "I don't know what you're talking about, but I advise you, some people are beyond your reach."

Facing the fearless Kimberly, Craig squinted, a hint of respect in his eyes.

For a moment, he sensed a familiar aura from her.

Victoria, who took his six billion dollars, also had an arrogant and wild aura, but Victoria's was stronger and more oppressive.

Meanwhile, Dylan had found out where Kimberly was.

"Where did you say?" Victoria raised an eyebrow, unsure, and asked again.

Dylan responded, "Underworld Specter."

Now, she was sure Kimberly was taken not because she was Alexander's subordinate but because of her.

It seemed Craig was still holding a grudge over her taking his six billion dollars.

She knew he had been looking for her and had deliberately hidden her tracks. She didn't expect him to find her; she had underestimated him.
