Chapter 159 Alexander's Identity

Craig felt like he'd hit his first real snag in life.

That snag was Victoria.

She didn't care about anything he said.

To make things worse, one of his guys chimed in, "Craig, why does it seem like she doesn't fear us at all? Like we don't even exist?"

Craig shot him a glare.

Victoria wasn't scared, and neither were her people. They didn't even flinch at the sight of Craig's crew.

Then Alexander showed up, one hand around Victoria's waist, the other in his pocket, looking down on Craig and his men.

Craig thought Alexander looked familiar but couldn't place him.

There are lots of well-built guys, he reasoned, brushing off his suspicion.

But Alexander had this strong, authoritative vibe. Just standing there, he made everyone feel the pressure.

Even Craig felt it. If he hadn't been the leader of Underworld Specter for so long, he might've crumbled.

Alexander's voice cut through the tension, cold as ice. "Craig, seems like you've been living easy and getting bold, huh?"

Craig's brain lit up. That voice was so familiar.

He was stunned.

Wasn't that Y's voice?

A similar build could be a coincidence, but the voice? No way.

Victoria noticed Craig's shock when Alexander spoke.

Why was he so rattled?

Alexander clearly knew Craig, but Craig didn't recognize him. Interesting.

She leaned against Alexander, enjoying the show.

Before Craig could say anything, Alexander added, "What? Forgot my voice already?"

Craig was dumbfounded, which was odd for the Underworld Specter leader. He looked a bit foolish.

He stared at Alexander, either savoring the voice or just too shocked to react.

Craig's men were also stunned. What was up with Craig?

He was usually great at chewing people out.

Why was he silent now?

Was he scared stiff by just two sentences from Alexander?

Where did his bravado go?

After a moment, Craig snapped out of it and said, "You're Y."

Y was the secret boss of Underworld Specter.

Eight years ago, Underworld Specter started in Country M, and under Y's leadership, it quickly became a major force, controlling underground banking and transactions.

But no one had ever seen Y.

Even Craig, the main guy in charge, had never seen him.

So, it wasn't really Craig's fault for not recognizing Alexander right away.

He knew Y's voice well, though.

Victoria, Dylan, and Kimberly were all shocked.

Anyone familiar with Underworld Specter knew the name Y.

Victoria didn't know because she'd only been married to Alexander for a month and a half.

But even Dylan and Kimberly, his long-time assistants, had no clue about this side of Alexander. He'd hidden it well.

Only Brian wasn't surprised.

"It's me," Alexander said, and Craig froze.

He'd just been bragging about taking them down.

But the guy in front of him was his boss.

Still, Craig was good at adapting.

Under everyone's gaze, Craig's awkward and embarrassed face quickly turned into a flattering, silly smile.

The Underworld Specter guys thought, 'Craig should've been an actor; his expressions change so fast.'

"Everyone, leave. It's just a misunderstanding; they're with us," Craig said.

With a wave of his hand, his men exchanged glances and then retreated. They weren't dumb; they heard the conversation. Alexander was their real boss. No reason to stick around.

The tougher they were before, the more cowardly they were now.

Craig led them to a fancy room.

He looked at Alexander and Victoria sitting across from him. They were a perfect match in looks and vibe.

He never thought he'd be in such an awkward spot.

Craig's bravado was gone. He glanced between Alexander and Victoria, asking cautiously, "Sir, what's your relationship with her?"

"She's my wife," Alexander said flatly.

Craig felt a pang of melancholy.

He thought she was a girlfriend or mistress, but she was Alexander's wife!

Their identities were mind-blowing.

One was the true leader of Underworld Specter, and the other led the O Alliance. Quite the power couple!

Half an hour later, Alexander, Victoria, and the others left with Kimberly.

They came in hot and left with a respectful escort.

Craig felt this year was really against him. He gave a stern order, "Take Loren down and kick him out of Underworld Specter!"

That idiot took a job targeting Alexander!

As for the six billion dollars, it was just stored somewhere else.

On the way back to the hotel, Victoria sat in the car, looking straight ahead, teasing, "Mr. Howard, your identity is quite something."

"Just a minor role. Being Victoria's husband is more impressive," Alexander said with a slight smile, calm and collected.

That sounded familiar.

He really picked that up well.

Dylan, driving, and Brian, in the passenger seat, both twitched their mouths. Their way of showing affection was unique.

Victoria turned, her beautiful eyes on Alexander's perfect profile. "So, you knew all along that Christopher was using Underworld Specter to target you?"

When she mentioned Christopher, Alexander paused.

He'd never told her his last injury was related to Christopher.

Suddenly, Victoria's hands were wrapped in Alexander's warm hands.

She heard his gentle voice in her ear, "From now on, you're not allowed to act alone or go to dangerous places by yourself."

His tone was gentle but firm.

Underworld Specter was full of dangers; one wrong move and you might not get out. Yet she dared to go in alone. Even as the leader of the O Alliance, accidents could happen.

Luckily, Craig wasn't a violent guy.

Victoria knew if she didn't agree, she'd face some punishment, so she nodded obediently. "Okay."

Then Alexander explained her earlier question. "I knew about Christopher's plan from the start. Coming to Country M was to play along with his plan.

As for him hiring Underworld Specter, I didn't know beforehand.

Underworld Specter takes jobs that are generally untraceable and doesn't leak info. I rarely get involved in their operations, and no one knows I'm the real boss.

So when they took this job, they didn't know who I was because Underworld Specter never asks about the target's background."

Victoria speculated, "You played along to draw out the people behind him?"

"You're really smart," Alexander said with a smile.
