Chapter 271 Creating an Opportunity for Grant to Cheat

After hanging up, Marlowe filled everyone in on the situation in their group chat.

Lila quickly came up with a plan. [How about we set up a situation where Grant cheats? That way, there'd be proof for a divorce.]

Victoria was with Alexander at the time and didn't mind him hearing. She played Lila's voice message on speaker, so both of them heard it.

Victoria was sipping water and paused for a moment.

Alexander glanced at her, raising an eyebrow.

She looked back at him, seeking his opinion, "Do you think it's doable?"

She was just curious since Alexander and Grant were good friends, and he might know if Grant would fall for it.

Alexander was quiet for a bit. He couldn't quite grasp women's thinking at that moment. He thought Lila's plan was pretty devious.

"Don't let her influence you," he said seriously, then added, "I don't know if he'd fall for it, but Grant's been in power for years; he's a veteran."

She thought he had a point. Given Grant's power and smarts, he wasn't someone you could easily fool; he was usually the one outsmarting others.

Thinking of this, she said casually, "But he still hasn't found Marlowe. Does that count as a failure?"

Alexander looked at her playful eyes and smiled, his eyes full of affection, "Yeah, he's only ever been bested by you."

Meanwhile, Grant was swamped with year-end work and sneezing a lot. He was frustrated and irritated, looking like he could blow up any second. His team didn't dare to breathe.

Everyone kept glancing at Kevin, hoping he'd come up with a way to calm things down.

Kevin ignored them. Looking at him was pointless. He was on edge too, working carefully. He had no time to worry about them.

The only way to ease the situation was to find Marlowe. But they couldn't find her.

For the first time, Kevin felt defeated. It wasn't that they weren't strong enough; their opponent was just too good.

Grant was a typical masochist. He didn't appreciate Marlowe when she was around, and now that she was hiding, he was desperately searching for her. Not finding her meant they all had to live in constant fear.

'I'm just doing my job. This is too much!' Kevin sighed inwardly. If it weren't for the high salary, he would've quit long ago.

In the afternoon, after leaving Vertex Holdings Group, Victoria went back to Serenity Grove Manor, changed into more casual clothes, and headed out again.

As soon as she got in the car, Kimberly showed up.

Victoria rolled down the window and asked, "What's up? Something wrong?"

"Mrs. Howard, let me go with you," Kimberly said.

Victoria had been going out without her lately.

Victoria thought for a moment and then said, "Get in the car."

Kimberly said, "I'll drive."

Victoria bluntly replied, "You don't know the way."

Kimberly was stunned for a moment and then gave in.

Soon, the car was on the overpass, heading towards the highway entrance, gradually leaving the city.

Kimberly asked, "Where are you going?"

Victoria didn't hide it from her, "Going to Syeattel to see someone."

They arrived in Syeattel after three in the afternoon.

Kimberly watched as Victoria parked the car at a lavishly decorated club.

The decor was a bit over the top, and Kimberly found it a bit tacky.

'How much does the owner want people to know he's rich?' Kimberly couldn't help but think.

Usually, clubs like this were low-key, but this owner was overly flashy.

Victoria, however, looked indifferent and walked straight in.

Kimberly quickly followed. She didn't know what Victoria was doing here, but if Alexander knew Victoria had come to this club, he'd probably come looking for her.

"I'm looking for Ellington Borgia," Victoria said coldly and confidently as she headed straight to the front desk.
