Chapter 203 Landon Wants to Watch the Fun

Landon was chillin' in the living room, waiting for Alexander and Victoria to roll back for dinner. When Alexander finally walked in, dude looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. Landon was about to ask, "Yo, you coming for dinner?" but the words just died in his throat. The vibe was straight-up scary.

Alexander didn't even glance his way and just stormed upstairs, heading straight for the master bedroom.

The door slammed shut so hard, Landon jumped. Thank God he wasn't that door.

What the heck just happened? Why was Alexander so ticked off all of a sudden? Landon had never seen him this mad before. Once was enough; he didn't need a repeat. His heart couldn't take it.

Sawyer came over, looking all concerned. "Mr. Howard, what did you do?"

Landon's mouth twitched. 'What could I have possibly done?' he thought.

"It wasn't me," he said.

Sawyer squinted, clearly not buying it.

Just then, Victoria rushed in, looking frantic.

"Sawyer, where's Alexander?" she asked.

Sawyer had no clue Alexander was even back. "He..."

Landon cut him off, cautiously pointing upstairs. "Victoria, he's upstairs."

Victoria didn't waste a second and bolted upstairs. Alexander's long legs made him walk so fast she could barely keep up.

Landon and Sawyer watched her dash up the stairs. They heard a door open, then close much more gently.

Landon turned to Sawyer, shocked. "Did Alexander and Victoria have a fight?"

Sawyer saw the smug look on Landon's face and felt his forehead twitch. Landon looked like he was enjoying this way too much. Who would be happy seeing their brother and sister-in-law fight?

Landon made a move to go upstairs, but Sawyer grabbed his arm. "Where do you think you're going?"

Landon replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world, "I'm gonna eavesdrop. If they start fighting, I can step in and stop them."

Sawyer's mouth twitched.

"Don't worry, Mr. Alexander Howard wouldn't hit Mrs. Howard," Sawyer said.

Then he added, "But if you're not afraid of getting your butt kicked, go ahead." He let go of Landon's arm. Landon hesitated for a second, then sat back down. "You're right. Better not."

Honestly, Landon wasn't worried about them fighting; he was just nosy.

After thinking it over, he decided not to get himself into trouble.

Even though Alexander was his brother, he wouldn't hold back if he decided to throw a punch.

Upstairs in the master bedroom, Victoria locked the door behind her. She didn't even know why she did it; it was just instinct.

The room was pretty dark, with just a bit of light sneaking in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. But it was enough for Victoria to spot Alexander's tall, brooding figure out on the balcony.

He had his back to her, and even from behind, she could tell he was fuming.

She stood there, taking in his broad shoulders and narrow waist. Neither of them moved. He had to know she was there, but he didn't turn around, just stood like a statue with his hands shoved in his pockets.

He'd already ditched his coat and suit jacket, just rocking a shirt now.

Seeing the curtains flutter a bit, she sighed and walked forward.

Alexander's intense eyes were locked on the dark sky. He felt her warmth behind him, his body tensing up slightly, and then her slender hands wrapped around his waist.

He glanced down, frowning a bit, but didn't react otherwise. He stayed still and silent.

After a moment, Victoria's soft voice broke the silence. "I'm sorry for making you worry."

There was a pause before Alexander let out a cold laugh, his tone icy and sarcastic. "Worry? Why would I worry? You're so capable; there's nothing to worry about, right?"

Victoria stayed quiet.

Yep, he was really pissed.

She'd kept this from him because she knew he'd never agree. She had Kimberly keep it on the down-low, thinking by the time he got back, it would all be over. If no one spilled the beans, he'd never find out.

But she lost track of time and got too caught up in it. No way she was gonna admit that.

Alexander ignored her, his face cold as ice, and suddenly she had an idea.

She let go of his waist and crouched down behind him, clutching her stomach and letting out a low cry.

Alexander spun around at the sound, seeing her crouched on the ground, her head buried in her legs, holding her stomach.

A flash of panic crossed his eyes. He half-knelt and asked, "What's wrong?"

Victoria suddenly looked up and threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

The sudden move made Alexander stumble back a few steps, his arms quickly wrapping around her waist to keep her from falling.

Alexander's back hit the balcony railing, and he let out a low groan. Soon, he found himself sitting on the floor, with Victoria, the mastermind of this little scene, just as surprised. The whole thing had caught her off guard.

Alexander didn't bother to move, leaning against the railing with his long legs stretched out on the floor.

Victoria was sitting on his abdomen in a pretty suggestive and shy position, her body lying on his chest.

Alexander looked down at her, not moving, and smirked. "So, you gonna play dumb now?"
