Chapter 439 Do It Yourself

Whispering Pines Border.

An island, underground dark city.

"Boss, the group of people Ronnie took out all failed. George was also rescued."

Sitting in the chair was a man with thick eyebrows, with an ugly centipede scar at the end of his left eyebrow.

The man's voice was hoarse. "What about him?"

The muscular man in a black tank top. "He was captured, but we don't know exactly who took him."

The thick-browed man frowned. "Useless! He took so many people out, not only lost himself but also lost George!"The muscular man replied, "Boss, should we inform that person?"

The man's hand tapped rhythmically on the armrest, and after a moment of silence, he spoke, "Have someone quickly confirm who took Ronnie. As for that person, I have my own plans."

"Yes, boss."

Underground level one.

"Who are you?" Ronnie's weak voice sounded.

He squinted, trying to see who it was.

But there was a lamp right above his head, the light was very strong, forcing him to squint.

He could feel the strong oppressive presence of the man standing in front of him.

He raised his arm to block the light and finally saw who was standing in front of him.

Alexander's deep eyes were as calm as water, and he took a step forward with his long legs.

Ronnie said, "It's you?"

Alexander was not surprised that Ronnie recognized him.

"What? Victoria actually handed me over to you? Why didn't she come herself?" Ronnie sneered.

He didn't know that Alexander had saved Victoria, nor did he know that the men in black who appeared on the cliff were Alexander's men.

He thought it was all arranged by Victoria.

Alexander's deep eyes were cold and merciless. "Do you think you're worthy?"

Ronnie squinted.

The murderous aura from this man was overwhelming. Was this really the person he had investigated before?

How could he have such a strong presence?

Alexander said coldly, "You dare to hurt my people! You 103 people have interfered in too many things; it's time to clean up."

Ronnie felt uneasy. "Who are you really?"

Alexander's tone was calm, but his words were arrogant."You don't need to know my identity. But you will pay for what you've done!"

After Alexander finished speaking, he removed his coat, which Marcus took and then retreated to a corner to watch the show.

Alexander slowly rolled up his sleeves with a graceful yet sinister air. He rarely got his hands dirty himself. When he did, it meant certain death for his target, preceded by an excruciating ordeal no human could endure.

Gideon was also watching from the corner.

He was more relaxed, having found a chair from somewhere to sit on, almost setting up a small table with a pot of tea and some snacks.

The entire underground level one was filled with the continuous sound of beatings, and the initial laughter turned into heavy panting.

Alexander punched Ronnie again and again, almost every part of his body was hit.

Marcus watched as Ronnie's originally delicate features became unrecognizable in just ten minutes.

Gideon clicked his tongue and whispered, "Alexander's punches are scary; he gave him a makeover."

Marcus nodded in agreement.

At this moment, Alexander stopped his actions.

Gideon touched his chin and muttered, "Marcus, what do you think Alexander will do next?"

Marcus looked at the scene in front of him, Ronnie had no ability to resist, lying limp on the ground, motionless.

Fortunately, his chest was still rising and falling, indicating he was at least still alive for now.

Meanwhile, in the hospital.

Victoria had a nightmare and woke up with a start.

"Mrs. Howard, you're awake? Do you feel any discomfort?" Kimberly asked.

She had been keeping watch, not daring to leave for a moment, not even blinking.

Seeing Victoria awake, she immediately rushed to the bedside.

Winter did the same. "Victoria, thank goodness you're finally awake," she said.

Victoria woke up and took a moment to gather herself.

This time, she didn't see Alexander as soon as she opened her eyes.

He must be angry.

Her mood instantly became a bit low.

The two were worried as she woke up but remained silent.

Victoria closed her eyes and said, "Help me up."

She didn't feel much pain before, but now it was excruciating.

It felt like her bones were about to fall apart with every movement.

Kimberly helped her sit up, and Winter raised the bed halfway.

"How long did I sleep? How are George and Marigold?" Victoria cleared her throat and asked.

"Mr. York is out of danger, and he's in the next room. Marigold is still in the operating room," Winter said.

Victoria frowned upon hearing this. She said, "Help me go see them."

Kimberly stopped her. "Mrs. Howard, Mr. Howard instructed you to rest well."

Hearing Alexander's name, her heart suddenly felt heavy.

She didn't ask Kimberly where he was, but directly told Winter, "Go to the nurse's station and get a wheelchair."

Victoria went to George's room.

Thomas was keeping watch, and when he saw her awake, he immediately jumped up from his chair.

"Vicky, you're awake? Do you feel any discomfort?" Thomas said.

Victoria had already heard this question for the third time since waking up.

"I'm fine. How is George?" she asked.

Thomas observed that her mental state was stable, though she looked a bit pale.

"They got him here in time, so his leg, where he got shot, is going to be fine," Thomas hesitated before continuing, "But his mental state might be..."

Although he didn't finish, Victoria understood immediately.

She stayed for a while and then went to the operating room.

Russell and Eugene were keeping watch.

Seeing her awake, their profound unease eased a bit.

At this moment, the light in the operating room went out, the door opened, and a doctor in green surgical scrubs came out.

"Doctor, how is Marigold?" Russell stepped forward and asked.

The doctor replied, "The bullet has been removed from the patient's body. Although the surgery was successful, the bullet was close to the heart, so whether she wakes up will depend on the next critical 24 hours. The patient has been moved to the ICU for observation."

Upon hearing this, everyone frowned.

Victoria felt the worst.
